The company's response to my review is filled with outright lies. I immediately told them they had not painted what they had agreed to in my Master closet and the baseboards in my Master bathroom, (that was listed in the quote). THE JOB WAS UNFINISHED. They knew the money for payment was waiting for them, as I used THEIR financing company. Why should I release payment until it was? But I released payment anyway, before the job was finished, so he has nothing to complain about. "There were drips and over painting in six areas." My notes and pictures of the drips, globs and over-painting prove otherwise. More like 17 areas. "They were 30 minutes late for the appointment." LIE. "T he other paint drips were removed without saying anything to the customer" LIE. All he *did* was talk the entire time. Constantly. He even went so far as to tell me that he "wished my husband was there so that he could tell him there were worse things in life than drips and overpaints, and that he needed to relax." "I sent her crew back to the house to repaint a few areas that were damaged by the customer during the move in of furniture" LIE. Unless one man is a "crew" As far as damage? ONE BUMP on a wall. That I didn't even ask your company to repaint. "repaint an arched wall after they decided they did not like their color choice. There was no additional cost for this service" I offered to pay your company for repainting the 12 inch wide strip on the inside of an arched doorway. It wasn't a wall. You chose not to charge me. "We left the customer with a pint container of the door stain mixture. The container was enough to re-stain the entire door in the future. I'm certain it was discarded when the moving boxes and other items were thrown away" LIE, LIE, LIE. No pint container was left with me, It had NOTHING to do with "moving boxes". TOTAL LIE. I now completely, absolutely would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. This man should be ashamed of himself for writing a response so utterly filled with untruths.
Description of Work: I've waited a while to write this, so that I would be calmer when I did. | |I needed a mostly empty house painted before move-in. Fabian showed up promptly for my estimate, and that was completed quickly. We added a few things on to my estimate, and decided to go with Certapro. The guys showed up to paint on time, and left on time. I had hardwood floors installed, and the floor guys laid cardboard over everything they put down, thank goodness. | |The job was mostly satisfactory. The quality of the job seems to vary by which painter did which room. Even though it was spelled out clearly on the job sheet what was to be done in each room, quite a few things got left undone. There were numerous drips, globs and splatters on my tile floors, even though those were supposed to be covered by the painting crew. I'm still finding them to this day. There were many areas where they painted onto a window casing, got wall color onto the ceiling, there was a drip onto fabric blinds, there was paint on cabinets, doors, smoke detectors, air intake grates and granite countertops. They forgot to replace a few fixtures that they had taken off of the walls. I had them apply a stain and polyurethane coat to my entry door, and there were flaws in that. Really, it was just a lack of attention while they were painting, in my opinion. They also washed out their brushes and rollers in my inside sinks, leaving a mess and putting the paint into my septic system. | |When I called them to tell them of the items missed and the other problems, Fabian pressured me into releasing the funds for the job, even though it wasn't completed. STUPID ME. I should have held that payment. Then I was informed me that Fabian and his head painter were about to go on vacation, and they would get to me when they get back. After not hearing from them for a week and a half I contacted Dale, and he then told me that the guys got a 2 week vacation, so I was premature in calling. I wish I would have been told that it would be over two weeks until I got my job finished to begin with, but I guess that's my fault for not assuming they got 2 week long vacations. Here's where it tipped into a really bad experience for me. | |In hiring professional painters for this, I wanted a professional job. Not a job with drips, gobs, splats and overpaint. When I told Dale this, he basically told me that I was overreacting, and that a bad paint job should not be a concern of mine because "life is short". A personal friend of his had died very recently and left children fatherless, and apparently that should put things in perspective for me. Then Dale came over personally and went through all of the drips and splatters that I had called out, and removed them or told me why the overpaint was there. Apparently, the previous painters had over painted, so Certapro overpaints those spots *exactly* with the new color. (How they accomplished that type of precise work when they splattered all over everywhere else is beyond my understanding). Almost every time he cleaned up a splatter, I got a look from him like "This is so simple. Why couldn't you just clean it yourself?", along with sighs and other non-verbal expressions of how petty my concerns were. | |Again. I didn't hire professionals because I wanted to clean up after them. Professionals are supposed to clean up after themselves. And professionals aren't supposed to try to guilt trip you when you call to ask them to finish the job they were hired to do. | |Dale *did* offer to replace the fabric window treatment that got paint dripped on it, but honestly... I just wanted to be done with the whole thing, so I didn't pursue that. And even after asking somewhere around 5 times to be given the name of the color of stain they used on my front door (so I could match other woodwork to it), I never got that info either.
