my 1 week project took 4 months. When my kitchen island slab finally was installed - they cut the sink on the wrong side of the slab. I was so done at that point, I just decided to live with it b/c the alternative was having to deal with this circus again. About a week after we finally wrapped up the project, I received a LIEN notice that they had not paid the cooktop vendor (which I paid Anderson for months ago). When I called their office, they told me, oh, don't worry about that, it has been taken care of... really ?? When I asked for documentation to that effect - go nothing. Let's hope someone doesn't knock on my door to take my cooktop away before I can get this sorted out. Such a frustrating and disappointing experience. I really tried to be patient, but their office staff is a hot mess. Worthless as a General Contractor.

Robert Anderson came out with a project manager (Tess) on the first day to do a thorough walk-through of the project to prepare the quote. When he understood that we were trying to take care of things to get the house ready to sell, he provided very valuable input into some things that needed fixed that we would have overlooked, but also provided guidance where we could make an update that was lower cost than what we thought was required. The net effect was less money spent than would otherwise have been required. The crew was able to start promptly after we signed the contract. All of the crews arrived on time, worked full days, worked quickly, quietly, and were very polite and professional. Every day the entire site was completely cleaned up. When we had minor issues that needed to be fixed, they were extremely responsive to get them addressed. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Anderson Remodeling. They were professional, honest, and had customer focus from the beginning to the end. I would absolutely hire them again, and recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

From the start to the finish of the experience, it was very pleasant and professional. Anderson was prompt in scheduling an appointment to come by and give an estimate. This happened within two weeks. Mr. Anderson came by with an assistant, and saw all the rooms that needed to be worked on and talked through any difficulties that might come up during the repairs, such as the difficulty of matching paint or replacing crown molding. The estimate was consistent with other remodeling companies we called for an estimate in both price and the things needing to be done, so that made me comfortable with what was being suggested. When the work was scheduled, the folks were in and out in 3-4 days total, which was in line with the schedule that was provided. The workers were professional and pleasant to deal with during the work period. When my wife had questions about the color matching and on the crown molding, Anderson worked with her to review things and change the one thing that we agreed could be adjusted. Overall from top to bottom a great experience.
Description of Work: We recently had water damage that took out part of a ceiling and wall of an upstairs bedroom and the dining room below. Anderson came in, hung/placed the sheetrock, repainted, and repaired crown molding where needed. The whole job was done very quickly and done very well, with the paint matching nicely, the crown molding repaired such that we couldn't see the difference with the other molding in the dining room.

Anderson was punctual. I liked his ideas and recommendations. Of all the women that seem to work in his office, it just took too long to get a final estimate (12/2/13) from the original estimate (11/14/13) despite the calls and emails. I ultimately went with another remodeling company. Everyone that worked with the company was very cordial.

My overall experience with Anderson Remodeling was great and I will use then again for future repairs on my home. Mr. Anderson is very professional and helpful. Their quote was a little higher than others I received but I felt like the quality of their work was worth it. My only complaint (and not that big of a deal) is that there was not good communication between the workers and the office regarding the time they would arrive. I was given an estimated 2-week span for them to start and they just showed up one day without any warning. Luckily I was home and was able to quickly move plants etc. for them to begin. There were a couple of days that they were supposed to be here and never showed up, but they worked efficiently when they were here finished the job within the time they had estimated. The workers were very friendly, professional and thorough with their work.

We worked directly with Robert Anderson, the owner, who was very plesent until we accepted his bid for the job. After the work started we had to correct his team on placement of numerous bathroom fixtures, as well as the delivery of the wrong style of fixtures. Every time we corrected their work, Robert was unprofessional by blaming us the customer for the mess up, he recommended Fergonsons Showroom, for all our bathroom fixtures, after visiting their showroom and making our choices Anderson remodeling marked up prices that we had to ask them numerous times to correct. After the job was completed, it was completed quickly but numerous things had to be redone (they did not touch up texted walls before painting them, therefore they had to be reprinted, installed light fixtures in the wrong rooms, bathroom fixtures in the wrong bathroom and order paint in colors we had not confirmed as the final selections), we had to meet with Robert multiple times because his invoices were incorrect (marked up prices, did not reflect payments we had already made, charges for fixtures not installed in the house and work they never completed) finally, when the final payment was made we realized that it was still incorrect because they were charging us for a claw foot tub that they asked us to pay the vendor directly for we called Robert directly who told us to contact is him bookkeeper Pam who never returned or calls (2 business days) therefore we put a stop payment on the check and issues a new check the next day. After this Robert became even more angry saying that since we put a stop payment on the check and were not paying him the full amount, even though we showed him we had already payed for the tub, he would no longer honor the discount he afforded us earlier. The discount he was referring to was the CORRECTED prices from ferguson showroom and the removal of charges for work they never completed at the house. After refusing to pay for the tub twice Robert and his assistance continued to call us, show up at our house wanting payment. We filed with the BBB and after submitting all our documents and rebutting Anderson's incorrect statements they stopped responding to the BBB and the issues were dropped. Examples: Robert and his assistance came to the house and did a walk thru because we tole them their invoices were incorrect (number of light fixtures and prices) which they insisted were correct, after showing them these items were not installed in the house they never apologized for their rude and unprofessional attitudes They told us we had to pay ferguson a directly for a claw foot tub we had installed, so we did, but they attempted to charge us for the tub as well, when we brought this to their attention they stopped returning our calls therefore we had to put a stop payment on the check They attempted to charge us for work they never did or did not complete (installing toilet paper holder, towel holders, and light fixtures in the master bathroom) When fixtures were delivered that re incorrect and we asked them to return them for the ones that we choose they tried to charge us a 10% restocking fee, FOR ITEMS WE NEVER ORDERED When we were selecting paint choices, Robert was present and wrote down colors we said we weren't sure of, he said that's ok just call me when you make your final choices, the next day he showed up with the colors we had not confirmed and then charged us when we told him the colors we wanted, I don't feel that it is our fault he jumped the gun and order paint we had not chosen. Incorrect invoices: the number of fixtures that were installed in the house was incorrect, for example they had the correct sku numerbs and descriptions but only 3 were installed in the house but their invoices would say 5, we asked them to correct it and they would argue with us, come to the house and do a walk through, realize we were correct, tell us we will correct it and send you a new invoice, BUT THEN SEND US THE SAME INVOICE! We had to ask them more than 6 times to correct their invoices, they would tell us they did, forward us a "new" invoice and the corrections would not be made.
Description of Work: We purchased a home built in 2002 and wanted to update the 5 1/2 bathrooms, replace the carpet, add shelving to the kitchen, remove a closet to extend a bedroom, remove wall paper and paint 6 rooms.

Response from Anderson Remodeling Inc
We began our working relationship with [member name removed] and [member name removed] August 2, 2012 to paint the interior of their prior residence. The customer was very satisfied. This job was signed up on August 18, 2012 in the form of 3 separate proposals. Since all lighting fixtures and plumbing fixtures were custom to the customers selections, none were included in the proposals. All fixtures were considered as extras to the original proposals. The scope of the work was removal and replacement of carpet, sinks, tubs, faucets, towel rings, toilet paper holders, lighting fixtures, frameless shower enclosures, claw bath tub, ceiling fans, removal of closet doors, and removal of closets to extend the bathroom. There was extensive work completed over the entire house and mother-in-laws suite. Job commenced immediately. [member name removed] and [member name removed] went to Ferguson's showroom in Spring, Texas and made their selections with the Ferguson's representative, Jennifer. [member name removed] and [member name removed] gave her fixture order directly to Jennifer at Ferguson's Spring, Texas. At that time no online ordering was provided as an option. Once Ferguson's submits the order, the invoice is submitted to Anderson Remodeling. All items were considered custom items. Not all items selected were in stock. Some were five to seven days out and in the case to the claw foot bathtub, it was several weeks out. All items were selected by the customer ordered, and billed to Anderson Remodeling a total of over $17K. Ferguson's provided Anderson Remodeling with invoicing for the items selected . We passed this information along to [member name removed]. Normal protocol is to collect the fixture cost from the customer, however[member name removed] would only pay a deposit equal to the claw foot tub and faucet of $4726.08. She insisted that she would pay for fixtures only after they were installed in the house. All items ordered were special orders. If we cancelled the remainder of the order, we would incur 25% restocking charges. When we provided the customer with the pricing supplied by Ferguson's Spring, with stock numbers on the items and invoice pricing, [member name removed] and her daughter went online and searched for less expensive pricing for the same items. We surmise that in their search for less expensive pricing they located a Ferguson online website not directly connected to Ferguson's Spring Texas which has different pricing. Thus the bidding war began and [member name removed] demanded price adjustments to commensurate with online pricing she claimed she found. The items came in by staggered deliveries, based on availability, commencing on August 23rd, 2012. Items were not all installed at one time, but were installed as the job progressed and different rooms mandated. We dispute [member name removed] claim that incorrect items were installed in her home. On one occasion, one of the three brushed nickel fixtures was installed in the incorrect bathroom vanity location. Once Anderson remodeling was informed of the error the item was installed in the proper location at no cost to [member name removed]. Another example was the sconces in Mother-in law bathroom was installed according to directions and [member name removed] insisted that they were incorrect. She wanted the sconces inverted. We also reinstalled this fixture based on her request at no additional cost to customer. We believe this is what she is referring to in her complaint. [member name removed] met with Robert Anderson and associate and went over all items provided on Ferguson's invoice and, with pictures provided of all items on the invoice, assessed where each and every item was installed within the home. [member name removed] agreed to price adjustments that [member name removed] inferred that Jennifer @ Ferguson's had approved. She tendered a check for final payment for $8144.00 reflecting price adjustments she insisted Jennifer @ Fergusons would honor. Ultimately the next day a stop payment was issued on the check. After we contacted [member name removed] she tendered a replacement check for $6693.61 on 10/5/2012. There was numerous occasions when [member name removed], the mother-in law was unavailable and since she was the one paying the payments, no payments were made until she was in town and available to drop a check. There were weeks when no payments were made. In our efforts to satisfy the customer, we went back to Ferguson's and they adjusted the pricing from $17K to $14552.62. This adjustment was provided by Ferguson's to satisfy the customer on pricing and quantity issues. A corrected invoice was provided on 10/18/12. [member name removed]herself agreed that she finally received the corrected invoice for items and quantities on email of 10/24/2012. On 10/29/2012 email, [member name removed] praised the workmanship of our staff, and to quote her "the remodeling job done on our home was a job well done". It was also stated that final payment would be done on 10/31/2012. This payment was only tendered for $872.20, which paid the balance owed on 8/30/2012 extras and partial balance on the fixtures purchased from Ferguson's, thus balance still owed is $1347.15. Anderson Remodeling never promised to honor online pricing , and neither would Ferguson's. We have documentation, from M[member name removed] , to support all our statements. We have several people giving directions on the job, husband, wife and mother-inlaw. We began service on the day the family closed on the house. The job was non-stop for over 3 weeks. This was done to accomodate the 2 families so they could move in. The allegations and untruths are the basis for this vengelful customer who did not get a positve response from the BBB. We offered to got to mediation for the BBB and the customer did not attend to resolve this issue and pay her balance. We could not force her to attend. Our company is still owed money.

After trying to work with several contractors who were not interested in our ideas, we found Anderson Remodeling. Robert came to our home within a few days, listened to us and studied our project which was complicated by varying roof lines and a breezeway at an odd angle. He worked with us to design a beautiful outdoor space at a very reasonable price. The work was done quickly and everyone from the office to the workers was wonderful. Anderson coordinated the HOA approval and kept us well informed throughout the whole project. Robert was on site frequently and the crews arrived on time and completed each portion of the project quickly and with the least disruption to our lives as possible. Everyone was pleasant and the site was always cleaned up when they left for the day. Our new cover, redesigned breezeway, concrete overlay, gutters and iron fencing blend flawlessly with the existing structure and appear to have been a part of the original build. Gorgeous!!!! We could not be more pleased. Anderson did an amazing job from the first contact to job completion. We highly recommend them and will definately use them for our next project.
Description of Work: Anderson Remodeling designed & constructed a 9'6" x11'11" patio cover including brick pillars, hip roof, redesigned breezeway, painting, & installation of ceiling fan & breezeway light fixture, which required and interior switch and sheetrock work. They, also, installed gutters on the cover, breezeway, back of the house and garage. A 2" overlay of stamped concrete was poured on our 26'x20" patio and an irorn fence with gate completed the project.

Post Ike repair due to a leaking roof and water damage. Poor quality work - was to repair ceiling and wall, exterior wood, and prep for painting. They left walls unfinished, removed window sills they never replaced, sloppy work was not ready for painting, they missed a large section of black mold in the ceiling where they did not replace the warped boards. The work was prepaid and once they thought they were fnished, they became non-responsive. We did report them to the BBB and requested a partial refund, but we never heard from them again.

We repaired a roof leak and sheetrock. Customer signed up for multiple repairs to roof, sheetrock, and gutters and then cancelled portions of the work. Customer was given a price adjustment on the sheetrock. Additional work was advised and customer decided to not go to the expense for additional repairs that were needed. We were patching and patching on a roof that should have been replaced. We repaired to the best of our ability with the budget allowed by customer. We are sorry that we were not able to complete the job to the customers satisfaction, however the customer's limited budget precluded us from doing so.

We called Anderson Remodeling for a bathroom renovation. Because of the flooding in the area, they called and cancelled the appointment....which was totally fine. In fact, she called several hours before the scheduled appointment and was very professional. and polite. I was looking forward to our rescheduled meeting. That night, my house flooded. Not sure what to do, I called them back. I told them who I was and that now my bathroom remodel has graduated to the entire first floor. She told me to call the water mediation company they recommended and to call them back when the house dried out. I called later that day to see if we could setup the meeting for them to come take a look and start the bidding process. I explained all of it again to someone else. She put me on hold and someone new came on the line and simply said, "we don't work on insurance jobs." And that was the end of the conversation. No explanation, no, "I'm really sorry, but company policy...." It was very strange. She did offer to come bid on the bathroom. I declined.

We are a minimum of 25% higher than what insurance will pay on a claim. In our experience an insurance company calculations will pay replacement pricing from the 1980's. We try to make our customers aware that our premium work is not covered 100% by insurance reimbursements. We feel that perhaps we could have provided our customer with benefit of our knowledge and experience on the process when dealing with insurance claim versus renovation. In our experience 99% of the time when working with customers who are involved in an insurance claim, payment is signifigantly delayed, or customer usually requests a discount to stay in line with claim funds collected. Unfortunately, labor costs negates our pricing guidelines. If it were prudent, we would love to be able to service all our customer's needs and not have to decline insurance repairs. We certainly extend our apologies for the customer's misfortune, we too experienced the wrath of the poor weather conditions in July 2012 and were completely under water for 2 days at our office.

When the owner came to my house he was very rude and unfriendly. From the beginning when I opened the door Mr Anderson seemed to have a look of surprise on his face. His expression was one of disappointment that a person of color answered the door. The remainder of the visit was one of rudeness, unfriendliness and attitude to have to talk to me. A handshake was not offered and the voice tone was one of hatefulness.unfriendliness.

We regret that was the customer's perception. The member is old school construction, very direct and to the point. There was another estimator on the job to assist with measurements. The communications with the assistant was direct and to the point. We try very hard to present a professional appearance and provide premium customer service. We could have provided her with another estimator if she so desired. We really felt pressed trying to complete the bidding process when another contractor showed up at the same time we were attempting to gather information for our proposal. From our position, this strained our process to provide our best service. We apologize for any misconceptions.

I don't know how to grade the price because I didn't get any other bids. They were responsive, punctual and professional.

Overall the job went fine; completed job to standard, and more or less on time (only delays were due to external circumstances beyond contractor's control). Kitchen cabinets work required some refinishing/touch ups, and other "attention to detail" items. Contractor used multiple subs, not all of which were top notch. Good work at an above-average price, but required owner inspection and supervision to ensure quality. Things I expected the contractor to catch/notice I had to bring to his attention. Overall fair, but I didn't feel like I particularly got "excellent" craftsmanship at a reasonable price; I felt like I got good craftsmanship at a slightly more than I should have paid. Months afterwards, we noticed errors in paint, stain, and trim work that were simple lack of attention to detail.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen remodel & paint interior of house.

They did a good job. However once the job was completed, they did not follow up afterwards. I enquired if they did concrete work and she said that she could refer me to some one else, but she never did. They were punctual and cleaned up after themselves.

I liked the employee that came out and gave us the estimate.I liked the crew that done because they cleaned up spotlessly. There is still a problem that has not been brought to their attention; the doors are not hung right because when it rains, watter leaks in. We will find someone else to fix this.
Description of Work: They took out a pair of french doors, re-framed and hung a new set. They then painted the inside white sand the outside red to match the deck, but they did not paint around each of the little panes of glass on the out side. Called them and they painted it but was a terrible job, so called again and they came back and did it right. At no time did a supervisor check on this work.
