B&P Fence replaced an old fence for me. I got quotes from all of the A rated providers in the area (those that called back at least!). We also did a general inquiry and B&P called back and set up an appointment that way; otherwise I would never have reached out to them. When Martin showed up to meet he brought with him a portfolio of jobs done. The work looked great and they made my top three. But then I looked them up on Angie?s List and disqualified them as a Prospect due to their poor reviews. I was ready to make my final decision when I happened to be driving along and saw a great fence in passing. I flipped a u-turn to take a closer look at the craftsmanship. I saw the B&P nameplate in the corner, a bit faded from 10+ years of Texas sunshine. Being that old, the fence was in extraordinary condition. So I decided to give them another look. Martin did not give me the cheapest price. I was shopping for a premium board-on-board cedar fence with top cap and rot board. The other A rated providers that came in cheaper (and even some of the higher quoters) evidently cut corners. I got a chance to look at a number of real world installs by all of my top Prospects and saw pine dyed to look like cedar on the 2 x 4s, skimping on the lag screws (only securing every other pilot hole) and cheaper, light weight posts and bracket deployed. When I looked at B&P's work, the lumber all was of a consistent top grade, the hardware robust and they even went the extra mile and incorporated korbel like moldings, recessed the hinges with a nice pocket detail; all at no extra cost. I felt pretty good about my choice when I handed over the deposit check, but still not 100%. There was a bit of and issue with my site plan when B&P went to the city to pull a permit. The text was grainy and illegible in the header. The city refused the permit without a better plan. I thought at this point that I would have to get involved and would end up being a headache. Martin told me "no worries," and had the problem resolved in no time. At this point I was confident in my choosing B&P. They showed up to do the work on time as scheduled. Martin even rolled up his sleeves and supervised, hands on. There were a few opportunities in which they could have saved some time by pushing it, but they approached conservatively and took an extra day to get it done right. When the fence was up, I knew I picked the right guy in Martin and B&P. It looks absolutly great! All of my neighbors have commented on how much they love the new fence. I even wlaked, not only the block, but the whole neighborhood to see if there is a comparable cedar fence around. Not even close! I have, hands down the nicest, best built and with the most character, fence around! I would definitely recommend B&P to anyone looking for a first class fence replacement. When we get around to doing the other side of the yard, there is no question who I will call.

The owners were professional and said all of the right things I needed to hear about quality and their customer-orientation as we put a contract together. They provide a long list of references. They were very responsive until the contract was signed and they received the downpayment. The fence sections and posts are of quality materials and nicely fabricated by one of the owners in his shop. However, the installation was horrible. We never knew when they were coming. They had to be frequently reminded of the work that was specified in the contract. The crew was unprofessional. One defecated behind the fence and threw rags used as TP into the trees. We found chicken bones in the front yard and there was always food scraps and food packaging the yard. They cut a clearly marked phone line, leaving us without phone and Internet until WE got it fixed. They cut a sprinkler line to our aerobic (septic) system and tried to hide the fact that they had done so. We found the covered-up problem and WE had to handle the repairs. They installed a complete section of posts in the wrong place and had to move them, subsequently installing the posts and fence sections in the same day, which the owner stated should not to be done. About a third of the posts around the fence are wobbly. The work site was not kept clean. We had to do a lot of cleanup ourselves. Metal fragments, some very sharp, were left everywhere. Debris from post holes was left everywhere. Concrete was dumped in the field immediately behind us and in the neighbor's yard, after repeated instructions to not do so. The old fence posts were supposed to be removed below grade and backfilled. Many were not. Plants were cut (shredded) even after repeated instructions to stop. Fence posts are not aligned in at least two places. Gates are not aligned. Gate locks required by the contract were not initially installed and now one does not even work. After an unusually heavy rain, the crew drove trucks loaded with fence sections across the yard and our neighbor's yard creating rather deep ruts that they did not repair. When they showed up, the crew was always in a hurry and did not demonstrate any care about doing the job was done correctly. Throughout, their office continually called about making payments even though the contract was clear about an initial downpayment and the balance upon completion. This was truly annoying. Once they were paid they became completely non-responsive to follow up problems. If you decide to use this company anyway, we strongly recommend you never let a crew on your property without one the owners there at the same time...

I can't comment on the quality of B&P's work or their price since we never got that far. I contacted B&P by email and received a response within in a day asking what I was needing. I responded with an email saying that I would like to get an estimate from them to replace my fence. That was over a week ago and I haven't heard anything from them. I'm moving on - there has to be a fencing company out there who is more responsive than this and I need to get a fence up before the HOA gets on me about mine being down.

The workers at B & P were very fast and they did a nice job. They were very polite. Their prices were average. The quality of their work was great. They were responsive, punctual, and professional.

They did not waste any time getting started after contract was signed. Got a permit prior to starting and followed city requirements. Worked fast, cleaned up after themselves. The quality of the work was outstanding. In fact it is obvious to look at a fence and know it is their work because the quality far surpasses other fences. They also took extra steps to secure our yard for our dogs. After the work was completed we had problems with the electric gate. After 20K we could not even park in our driveway for over 2 weeks because the gate would not work. We called numerous times, emailed and finally they came back out to fix the electric gate. The gate still is not working the way it should. Bottom line is that this company does outstanding work. They contract out the electric gate which is the reason why I think we are not getting adequate service. I have been told by other fence companies I interviewed who would not install electric gates because they cannot find a reliable company for the electric gate. But regardless of the reason, they sold me the gate and are legally required to warranty it and unfortunately they are not doing that. If you are only putting up a fence I would highly recommend them. If you are going to put in an electric gate I would think twice about this company.

Joe Lopez returned my call promptly, came out and gave me an estimate on the spot with pictures. He knew exactly what I needed to do to repair my gates. My gates were not closing and were falling apart. They are steel and wood gates connected to a concrete fence. Joe and his crew came promptly on the date we set up and finished when he said. They did a beautiful job and I'm really proud of my new gates.

They were very responsive from the initial estimate (came the very same day), to ability to get the work done the next week, to responding to questions or concerns. The main number is the managers/foreman cell phone which he seems to always have on hand. I gave them a "B" on punctuality because they were not very precise in telling us with when they would show up to do work. They would tell us they would show up sometime Thursday or Friday. It made it a little difficult to plan, but not really that bad. I also gave them a "B" for professionalism. This is mainly due to the manager/foreman picking the phone up while on the job site. He always seemed distracted while talking with him on the phone. A side-effect of his responsiveness. We had a little hick-up with the spacing of a fence section, but after a brief discussion they came out and reworked it beautifully. I would most definitely work with this group again.

Joe Lopez came to our home and gave us a free estimate on the day I called him. The work started and ended as scheduled, a couple of days. We are quite pleased with their work, and Joe Lopez, who was in charge of the project, was very knowledgeable and polite and professional.

Excellent work Fast estimate, explained work well, showed pictures of other jobs. They came when they said they would, performed a complex project in 1 day with a team of 5 men and did a superb job. Improved the mechanism of the gate, replaced motor, and even moved the fence out to give us more back yard. Work was thorough, highly competent, and looks unusually good. Joe Lopez's English is not entirely fluent but don't let that put you off. He and his crew were simply outstanding and did everything they promised and more. I highly recommend them.

It went very smoothly. Joe came by to provide an estimate within one day of my request. When I decided to have B&P do the work, they had the job completed within 2 working days. The old fence was torn down and hauled off without incident. The crew even used some of the dirt displaced from setting the posts to even out some low spots within the backyard. The fence had been an issue with the HOA long before I purchased the home, so they were quite happy to have this completed so quickly. A neighbor stopped by this evening to tell me how much they admired the new fence and appreciated the job done by B&P. They have already asked Joe for an estimate and will likely have their fence replaced by the same team.

They answered the phone (vs. getting an answering machine - which was my most common situation), they came out an did an estimate the next morning, and when I approved the estimate they started work the next day. When it became clear that we needed one new pole to be wood, they immediately drove to a home improvement store and found a very close match at no additional charge. Throughout they communicated well, and kept me informed of their plans. I felt the price was a little high, but their responsiveness, and professionalism convinced me to use them.

They did a great job at a very fair price. I got other estimates, even from a fence company on the list and no one else wanted to do the job. They all bid much higher to do the job also. Jr's fence had the best price and was willing to do the job.
