Description of Work: I had two unrelated problems with an electric dryer. |At first the dryer would run and produce hot air for a short while, but then the filament seemed to be going off. Over the phone, Lafferty's told me it sounded like a stopped up vent. |My vent goes up inside the wall and through the roof. I checked and cleaned the vent as best I could without going on top of the roof because I don't have a very tall ladder (and I'm too old to be doing that any more). |I then decided to check the filament. I took the back off the dryer, removed the filament, and it looked okay. |After putting it back together, the dryer was completely dead. |Of course, I felt like an idiot, because it at least ran before I worked on it. |When the technician arrived a couple of days later, I explained the whole thing to him. |He quickly determined the power coming from the wall was intermittent. After opening up the wall receptacle and tightening up the wires, the dryer was running again, but the heat would only last for a few minutes. |He then went up on the roof and unstopped the dryer vent, which had probably never been cleaned out in its 40 year life. |The dryer now works perfectly. |I live over 20 miles from Texarkana so the trip was a big part of the repair bill. |Their guy was very friendly and very competent. He spent a while up on my roof unclogging the vent, which was old and rusty, and hard to work with. |I will use them in the future for any appliance problems I have.
