David Ousley's Tree Service

I am a life-long resident of Texarkana and I have known David for at least 20 years. I own several rental properties and David has done numerous jobs for me, first as a carpenter and later as a tree removal professional. David has always taken great pride in what he does and his work is neat. He recently cut and removed two pecan trees at one of my rental properties. His price was fair and he removed all the limbs including a couple of piles that were already there before he started. I didn't pay him anything until the job was completed.

The guy is a slave driver who is well known for routinely assaulting, pulling guns on, and bullying his employees. I recently worked for him and never got paid when calling to ask for my check I was threatened and harassed. I quit the job prior to this because of the way he talks to his employees and the fact he has a crew of people on drugs one of which carries a backpack to work every day with a pistol and drug paraphernalia in it. All together this experience was way to much to handle. Never again will I work for anyone on drugs, has anger issues, and gambling problems.

David came and assessed the situation. Two days later his crew removed the tree, leaving no debris in the yard. They even landscaped the area before leaving. That very afternoon a storm with high winds hit our area. Thank goodness for his quick response to our problem. The workers were very professional and safety oriented in their work ethics.

This tree service is a total rip off. This guy offers a daily rate with which he claims that he will have a team of guys working the full day for a certain amount. If you decide to hire this guy?s ?team? at his daily rate, get everything in writing, from how many people will be working, to the number of hours he consider a day. Make sure you have someone on site to watch and make sure they work the amount of hours you are paying them to work. I hired Mr. Ousley to clear some rental property that is located in a different city from where I live. I live 2 hours away and trusted him to do the work. I paid him in full before seeing what had been done. (I know, big mistake, right? But an honest person, for some reason still expect others to be honest until they show otherwise.) He started the job at 9 am and texted pictures at 2 pm saying he was finished. When I got the chance to go back to the property, the following week, only about half the work had been completed. When he was called about the unfinished work, he lied about what the agreement had been. (I reiterate. ?Get Everything in Writing? if you decide to deal with him). My advice to everyone looking for an honest person with whom to do business, DO NOT hire this man. He was paid $1600.00 for a day?s work and he worked 5 hours, did not completed the job, would not answer the phone until he saw that I was not going to stop calling, played like he was sick for 2 weeks, stringing me along and finally refusing to complete the job. He said, ?Per his lawyer?s advice?.

I called and talked to the office who took down my information & said the owner would return my call..I'm still waiting on that call..it has been over three weeks and still waiting

Outstanding work and fair price. His workers were careful, fast, and efficient. They arrived exactly as stated and completed the job within the time specified. He has the right equipment to do the job efficiently and safely. Five Stars *****

He did an excellent job. Talked to us and advised us of everything he was going to do. He knows what he is doing and did it in a short time. Minimized any damage to my house due to his expertise. We are going to have David come out to do some tree trimming in the future.

I had some trouble scheduling initially. The company had some machines that needed repaired that delayed their scheduling. The price was very fair and reasonable. They did an outstanding job!

They are excellent in what they do. He did a good job for whatever he did for me. He is insured and bonded. He is very reasonable. I would recommend him to anybody.

We had 9 trees we needed to get removed from the back side of our property, prior to building a new carport-storage shed combo and a covered pavilion. They were down a hill and next to the bank of a pond. There was a clump of 5 huge willows, a dead post oak probably 50 ft tall, and a few pines. We got a couple of quotes, and David's quote was less than half the other one. Plus, he had all these positive reviews on Angie's List. So, who to use was a no-brainer. The only problem we had was the amount of rain we got this winter. David tried to get these trees cut down for us for well over a month...but every time it would almost dry out enough, it would rain again. Finally, this week it was dry enough. David, and crew, started working about 9:30am, had to go dump the wood 5 times, and finished about 3:30pm. Unbelievable! They did a great job, fixed the yard as much as possible afterwards, and cleaned up all the small limbs. They do a great job, and get it done quickly. I'd recommend David Ousley's Tree Service to anyone.

Job completed to my satisfaction. There were some issues with tools that were resolved quickly. Owner and workers came daily to do as much as possible given there circumstances/issues of the day (broken tools, cold weather, ect) One thing I want to give praise for is that breaks where reasonable and when owner and workers where on site, they worked and did not stand around like others have done so in the past.

I had 4 dead trees and several big trees and one that needed to be trimmed up. And also clean up from when Bowie Cass cut a tree and just left it there. When i asked David if they could pick it up and he said it wouldnt be a problem. And that impressed me. Some times you get people who doesnt want to work. But this company DOES NOT show that. They are there to do there job. They are very nice poeple. His wife who answers the phones is the sweetest. Ever since I called them a week ago they have tried there best to come out and get it all cleared for me and my fiance. Im very impressed with there business and how they run it. I have mentioned them on my facebook page. But overall they are great people and they run there business very well.

Excellent, efficient work. Prompt on the job, worked hard, no down time and cleaned up. Made special effort to not damage existing trees on the property. Good equipment. Good value, for the money. Good people, no problems. Will use again if I need them.

They were very professional and did an excellent clean up job although the trees were close to the house nothing was damaged they did a nice clean job and look forward to having them do more work in the future

When I first contacted them they were quick to come and give an estimate. Also, because I had a tree near the house with a large, dead, over-hanging limb, they moved me up in their schedule. They had to reschedule the work once due to a sick employee. They came on the Monday following the original Saturday scheduled date and had the work done, including clean up, in less than 3 hours. They noticed a large dead pine tree on a vacant lot next door that was leaning toward my house. They cut it down without any additional charge. This company really cares about their work and most importantly, their customers. I highly recommend them.

This was a tree that had died very recently from (apparently) a pine beetle infestation. It needed to be cut down and removed from my property to prevent the spread to other nearby pines, David came out in the morning, looked it over, and gave me a fair price. He then showed up with his crew that same afternoon -a day ahead of schedule - and within two hours this huge dead tree was dropped, cut up, and hauled away. They cleaned up all traces of the tree and put the chain link fence back to original condition. David has the men and equipment needed to do a quality job, quickly and professionally. I am very happy with his work and will definitely use him again in the future.

Can NOT complain one bit!!! Service, price and job well done! Very nice and clean people! Price was great needed a pretty good size tree removed and was only charged 950! All equipment was nice and had a nice logo! Everything was cleaned and removed with no problems! Thank you and if I ever need trees removed again I'll definitely call them again!

We recently hired David Ousley Tree Service to remove 2 large oak trees and 1 large pine tree that were situated precariously close to one of our garages. In addition to be responsive, very thorough and reasonably priced, the service was friendly and professional. In short, they did exactly what they promised. We will definitely recommend Mr. Ousley to our friends and business associates.

They did a great job with the trees but we had a lot of damage to our property in the process, some of which wasn't reported to us. The original appointment was scheduled for a Tuesday but they called 30 minutes before their scheduled arrival time to cancel because he didn't have enough workers there to do the job. They rescheduled for Thursday of that week. While trimming the trees, a limb fell and broke a board on our deck but he reported it to us and fixed it. They also broke a pool pole and brush and gave us a $50 discount so we could buy a new one. Appreciated both of those fixes. There was damage to 2 fence panels with large chunks knocked out of them and none of that damage was reported to us. They attempted to fix it but the damage was too great for the fix they attempted. They removed one fence panel with the promise that they would put it back "better than before" so they could get their bucket truck in our back yard. They broke that panel and certainly didn't put it back "better than before". It wasn't cemented in properly and is extremely wobbly now. It also has a pretty large gap in the middle of it that was not there before they started. Their machinery in our backyard tore up some of the tree roots that were above ground. Their bucket truck was leaking hydrolic fluid and after they left, we have 5 dead spots in our front yard from where their truck was sitting while they trimmed up our front trees. Update 9/24/14: He has since contacted us with an offer to replace the fence. We declined, feeling it was unfair to him to replace the fence when it was older.

We got our lawn chairs,something cold to drink and watched as David and his worker systematically cut up a tree that has been a safety hazard for some time now. The service was prompt,professional and fair priced.
