 + -1 moreWe had one glitch which in my view was my fault. Collectively, we did not calculate the deck size and were unable to complete the entire project with composite. Since we were actually decking two adjoining residences, it worked out fine, and Joey and I split the overage cost....no harm no foul. The point is...Joey is a guy who can be worked with. I would work with him again with pleasure.
Description of Work: Joey is an interesting cat, and if a homeowner is not skilled at dealing with this kind of individual, things might be rough. He is a hard working, tough minded, no nonsense, kind of individual, I found him to be amenable, reasonable, and extremely skilled at his craft. His guys were courteous and his lead carpenter (in addition to him)) was top notch. It was a fun experience, having Joey and his crew at our home. I did not have much experience at the pricing of this kind of job, so at first, I thought the pricing was high. At second look however, I realized that with materials, travel time, crew expenses, plus materials, the price was very reasonable considering the level of craftsmanship provided on this job. Joey and his gang tore the really crummy and poorly constructed deck out, repaired rotting fascia, broken siding, and rebuilt a complete deck frame and installed composite decking on of the new deck. They then rebuilt an entire second deck with pine and built benches and steps as a part of the deal.

 + -1 moreI accepted the estimate for my deck repair, paid for the material, and paid the owner Joey Arney half the labor amount up front (2400). He worked 4 days and then quit after receiving constructive criticism on his work. He was 7 inches off of square on the forms and poured the concrete off by that much. Instead of making it right, he quit and did not refund any money.
