Dave and his helper completed the job in a timely and professional manner.

Dave arrived around 10:30 a.m. as scheduled with a female helper to help him clean my fans, but he did everything else. Dave is friendly,easygoing, helpful, hardworking, and makes sure to clarify any detail that he is unclear of BEFORE he begins a task. He is always courteous and is very conscientious about doing a job to a customer's satisfaction. The only time I saw him on his cell was to answer a work-related call, and even then, his conversation was quick. He explained to the caller he was on a jobsite and was under a deadline, so he politely asked the caller if he/she could call him within a day or so. He was in and out of my house, and the weather was unbearably hot, but the heat never slowed him down. He was able to get everything done by 2:30 p.m. I'm so pleased to find a handyman who can perform small jobs. Before I found Dave, I made several phone calls, but some contractors said they handled large jobs only. Although Dave lives a long way from my house, he has always told me, "Mrs. Horn, you know I'm just a phone call away." Because of the distance, when I use Dave, I make sure there are a series of tasks I want him to complete so that it's worth his time to drive from Sugarland to Southeast Houston near Hobby Airport, which is where I live.

Dave arrived about 10:00 a.m. as scheduled with a male helper. Dave performed some tasks, but he had to leave to bid a job, so he had his helper perform a majority of the tasks. Everything was done about 5:00 p.m. Both men cleaned up after they finished working, which is something many contractors fail to do. My back yard looked great, and for the first time in a year, I could actually see what I had stored in my shed room. The only problem occurred after both men left. My outdoor solar lights did not work, but I had no way of knowing it until it got dark. However, I decided to bring this matter to Dave's attention on a subsequent visit, which I did, and the ten lights were finally working properly. I was pleased with the quality and the scope of the services the two men performed. Both are polite with strong interpersonal skills, and they wanted to be sure I was pleased with their work before they left. I also let Dave know that I would write him a favorable review, which he said he depends on, because satisfied customers will give him return business, and they will recommend his services to others.

I had some exterior damage on my house due to wood rot and all of the wind and rain we have had recently. Michael came over the same day I spoke to him and gave me an estimate. He came back a few days later, as promised, on a Sunday no less and completed the work in just a couple hours. It was awesome.

Pleasant owner and helper. Helper was very talented at drywall work, matching texture, and painting. Did an excellent job of protecting commode, floor, work in place, and of cleaning up. Very very pleased with them.

Dave responded to my initial e-mail the evening it was sent. We were able to schedule a date right away. He showed up exactly on time. He walked through each of the items that needed to be done with me, then headed to Home Depot for the supplies. He returned with the supplies and the cash receipt and I reimbursed him for this cost ($95) separately. The cost I've shown above is for his labor. Although the description of the work I needed makes it sound simple, in fact, there were 2 items that were really tricky. The TV cabinet hinges were special ordered and Dave was very creative about how to fix the problem. Took almost 45 minutes for that one alone. The outside fence latch was tricky as well. Dave ended up sawing part of the metal latch...a fix I never would have thought of. The installation of the garage light was straightforward but required some careful placement which he handled well. Dave himself is very polite, professional and clearly knows what he's doing. His helpers are a bit more casual. But during my visit Dave kept on top of them with clear instructions. I will definitely use him again.

Dave and his assistant came out, and using my extension ladder, had the bulbs changed out in no time. (The LED bulbs were too heavy for the little suction cup on a stick devices that are often used to change bulbs in elevated ceilings.) Quick. no-muss, no-fuss., and my feet never had to leave the ground.

Dave showed up so quickly, we were amazed. He went right to work on our problem and he was able to dismantle the device and now the door closes perfectly! He solved our problem and was our hero for the day!

Positives: Dave is quick to respond and call back. He pays attention to detail when hanging pictures. He didn't finish a job I requested, so he came back super early the follow day. Negatives: His associate Tim makes poor judgement calls without talking to Dave or the customer. I just wanted my shower caulked and he did a terrible job, I asked for it to be tidied up in one spot and he took it all out. Granted there appears to be a bigger issue of possible water underneath my tile, which Dave and I spoke about - but Tim did not listen to what I needed. Also, he used the wrong paint over and over again on my walls to touch up VERY small spots. See attached picture. Whenever Dave would leave, he would just sit and not work - even on the small tasks Dave gave him. Overall - Dave is capable and friendly, but if you work with him - ask that Tim does not come along.

Dave and Tim did exceptional work! This was our first time using Angie's List and we are very impressed with how professional and skilled the workers are. They did some carpentry work, fixed some plumbing, and installed a new mailbox. Everything looks perfect:)

He was on time. We walked thru my house and I showed the items that I needed to be fixed. Then, he went to the hardware store to get all of the materials. It took about 4 hours to complete the work. He did a good job.

Able to come early, friendly, we paid for materials, he was done in around 2.5 hours. Trustworthy, patient, able to explain what needed to be done, and very fair price. Arrived with one worker.

Dave was very timely and he did great work at a reasonable price.

MR. ROUNDTREE WAS COMING OUT TO DO SOME 'ODD JOBS' FOR US ON MAR 11, 2015. BUT HIS BUSINESS IS SO FAR FROM MY HOME, THAT WE BOTH DECIDED THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH TO DO, TO PAY HIM TO DRIVE 25 MILES. HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS ON THE PHONE AND HELPFUL TO ME. I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN.

Dave was not able to come at the appointed time, but phoned and let us know when he would be able to arrive. Was very polite and friendly upon meeting. Immediately knew which access panel (we had bought two different kinds) would work well for what we needed. Had his assistant Tim use a handsaw to cut the sheet rock. Hit a stud, so had to change plan and slightly move opening. Worked out so that the spring-loaded access panel fit perfectly. Then Dave and Tim measured for a platform floor in our attic to safely access our water heater. After buying the wood, Tim returned to cut and nail down the platform so that it matched the level of the platform that was already there for our air conditioning unit. Job took about 4 hours, including the time they were gone to get the wood and materials to install the floor. We verbally agreed to $175.00 before he bought the materials, and also paid for the materials used. (He gave us the receipts as proof.) Both Dave and Tim were friendly but professional. We are happy to recommend them on Angie's List.

I contacted Dave on a Friday morning with a brief description of what I needed. We made arrangements for Dave to come by and look at the job late on Friday afternoon. After looking at the job Dave gave me a price and told me he was available next Wednesday morning at 10:30AM. Dave and his helper, Tim arrived on time resurveyed the work to be done and did an excellent job. The work entailed; 1.Determine the placement of the mounting bracket for the mantel on the existing brick fireplace. 2. Cut holes in the back and top of the new fireplace mantel so electrical wires could be run and a plug put in the top of the mantel. 3. Put the fireplace mantel and surround on the wall. 4. Put an electrical box and plug on the top of the mantel. Once again, Dave and Tim did an excellent job. They were careful while working on our new hardwood floors and freshly painted walls. We will definitely call Dave again in the future.

Dave worked hard to make us happy. We needed the job done quickly and he came through for us. The end result is very high quality, the price was reasonable ... I know I created some headaches for him but he kept a positive attitude and handled every difficulty. Thanks Dave!

I discovered that I had an old toilet that had been leaking for a very long time without me realizing it. I found Dave in here and seeing that he had done many other jobs for reasonable rates with very good reviews before me, I decided to give him a try since I?m on a limited budget. I called and he answered right away and I asked for a price to install a new toilet. I occasionally have limited walking abilities and I explained this to Dave and asked if he would be able to go to Lowe's to pick it up for me in the ready-to-pickup-customer-service dept. He said "Yes" and so I went on Lowe's website and researched toilets, found one and the necessary other parts, and had it pre-paid to be picked up at the store closest to me the next day. Dave showed up right on time with his helper Tim. I was concerned that the subfloor would need replacement or at least a patch, but after removing the old toilet, Dave assured me that it just needed some drying out and it would be okay. Since I was going to be saving a lot of money in not having to replace the subfloor, I asked Dave to give me a price to fix my leaking kitchen faucet. Unfortunately, my old faucet was not the kind where you could just replace a washer to stop the leak and it was old anyway. Dave gave me the price to install a new one if it was configured just like the old one. Again, I felt this was a very good price so I asked if he could do that too, if I picked out a faucet online. He said ?yes?, and I immediately went back to Lowe?s website to see what was in stock. I picked out 2 faucets ( in case one really was not in stock) and since it would take too long to order online and have it pulled. I gave him the cash to buy one & asked for him to bring me a receipt. Tim stayed at my house and started the prep work while Dave went to Lowe?s to pick up the toilet and buy a new faucet. Tim worked h****** removing my old faucet, which was not easy, and he also carried the old toilet to curbside so the heavy trash pickup could get it. Dave seemed to be gone a long time, so I called him to check in. Turns out that Lowe's had NOT pulled ANY of the items I had pre-ordered the night before and they made poor Dave wait for an hour while they got it all together and matched to my online payment the night before. Dave never complained at all, and he just went about getting my new faucet while he waited for Lowe?s to get my order together. He came back with my toilet order, the beautiful new faucet and necessary parts and gave me the receipt and change. Not only did he not charge me for a wasted hour of his time waiting for Lowe?s to get their act straight, but he also did not charge me for picking it all up, and carrying it all to my house. Tim installed the toilet and Dave was very right in saying the floor would be fine. Tim then went to work on the kitchen faucet. I was so pleased to have all this done and the unexpected new faucet install done the same day! I paid Dave, thanked them, and gave him some extra $$ for his wasted hour of time at Lowe's, but he did not ask for that or expect any compensation for all the extra time/effort he expended to make my experience with him easier. About a week later, I noticed that the faucet body was rotating a bit on the escutcheon where it shouldn?t. Turns out we didn?t line up a very small plastic notch ( I called Delta -and FYI - I will now ALWAYS buy Delta faucets after the best customer service experience I have ever had - they gave me PDFs & videos to check out at length & sent an extra part all free of charge). Anyway, I waited for the part to arrive from Delta in the mail and told Dave what was going on. He was so eager to make sure that I was a satisfied customer that he called me BEFORE the part had even arrived to see what he could do and when. After the part arrived, they came back out, no charge, fixed it the next day. Dave let me know if there was anything they could do you make sure I?d use their handyman service again for repairs, that they?d help. I am a very happy camper now and I will definitely use Dave again in the future. Having him in my Rolodex makes me breathe a little easier. Very accommodating and kind-hearted, Handyman!! A++
