The work for the day was paid for at an agreed upon price but at the end of the day was incomplete in one room and unsatisfactory in another. Dave told me to call him on the following Monday and he would send his man back to take care o the problems. I had to leave a message on that day and have not heard from him since! Previously he had been good about answering personally when I called. Would you hire somebody like that for handyman services?

+ -1 moreDave is awesome!! He answered my phone call around 6 on Friday night. He dropped by my house on Sunday morning to see the scope of the projects and give us an estimate. He was at our home promptly by the following friday with needed supplies and he and his helper accomplished everything much to my satisfaction. These were little nagging projects that my husband never gets to and I have wanted done forever. I was so glad I called Dave. His enthusiasm is infectious and his attention to detail is appreciated! I would recommend him to all my friends! BTW I had also tried to call another handyman service but they were already closed by 6 on friday, so I emailed them. They did get back to me but not until Monday and then they couldn't even come out until the following saturday for an estimate. Of course Dave had already completed the work by then!! Call Dave to get those projects done - you won't be sorry!
Description of Work: Several small projects. Sealed and weatherproofed around both front and back doors. Caulked around kitchen sink. Caulked around bathtub. Fixed a hole between cabinet and drywall. He went and got all the necessary supplies.

Description of Work: Dave hung up several wood shelves in a closet which was turned into a mini office. He also installed the wood that would be used as a desk. He hung up wire organizers in another closet. He switched out a ceiling light, and installed a dimmer. He caulked up some holes in a bathroom and nailed down some loose stairs as well. He was professional, courteous and well organized.

+ 0 moreThis was a big job that took a bit over a week to complete. Dave's painter is excellent, a very detail oriented professional. His primary handyman did superb work quickly & efficiently, he did a great job. Dave was wonderful to work with. There were several additions to the original specifications which were fairly priced. This was the 2nd time I used Dave's handyman services. Each time have been very pleased with the work, workmanship & price. He was cleaned afterwards so that all the work done was showcased. I will use Dave in the future when I have additional work to be done. The only area for improvement was that there was no written list of details for work to be done. We did communicate daily about what was remaining & I did maintain a detailed account of what was included in the estimate, what had been completed & needed yet to be done. Note: I purchased all materials. Dave provided the tools, personnel & services.

+ -1 moreDave came out and gave an estimate, very reasonable price and seemed like he knew what was going on. We had just purchased the place and needed some work done. So Dave rounded up some guys and set them to work on the jobs we had requested. We ordered the doors we needed from Lowes so they'd be all set to put them in. Dave picked up the trim we'd need himself once he had a better idea how much would be needed to finish off the job. He had an idea for how to make the open shower area work to hang a curtain and suggested the kind of part we would need. We never did find that part, but found a shower curtain rod that would work for the space and that's what Dave's guys installed. The guys he brought in did great work. Dave rounded up good guys to get us taken care of. Only issue we had was a mixup with payment as he wasn't accepting credit cards at the time and we had gone on what was listed here. But he was very accommodating so that we could make things work.

+ -1 moreI waited over month to write this review just to make sure the repairs to my door lock no longer had any problems. I am pleased to report the door lock no longer jams. The repairs required considerable work as the door lock and and the door itself were not properly aligned. He did run into traffic which caused him to I would caused him to be late for the repair. However, I would absolutely hire Dave Roundtree again.

His men then came out and did the painting when we agreed. They were timely. The job took longer than they expected, but did not charge us any more. The paint job was very good. The painters were also really nice, and very considerate. I was impressed they did not get any paint on our dark green carpet on the entry stairs.

+ 0 moreHe had one guy that was very good..and the other, older was slow and useless. Unfortunately, the older man did the office furniture. The office furniture had wrong parts installed, file drawers unable to close, etc. All but the office furniture was done by the younger man and well done. If you use Dave, be careful. I don't think he knows to estimate a job. I think he charges by what he thinks you can/will pay, not by the job and then hecomes back at the time for payment for an additional charge (already overcharged). And I'm always leery of people who (1) want cash, and (2) is afraid his workers will know what he got paid. I insisted his worker give me a reciept (Dave is there on first day and other than a couple phone calls, never saw him again). Of course, the receipt had the amount. By the way, the cost stated above was only labor. I paid for all materials.
Description of Work: I had a series of handyman jobs from putting office furniture together, installing an overhead fan, removing french doors & replacing with curtains, repair back gate, created a storage closet in my garage and misc.

+ -1 moreAn exterior door started to sag due to the screw holes widening in the door frame. I had called several door companies to review the issue and provide ideas and quotes for service. All of them wanted to replace the door and the frame. Cost were upwards of $1,000 for this and that did not include paint. I found Dave on Angies list and decided to give him a try before replacing the entire door and frame. I called Dave and explained to him the issue and he came up with a creative idea right on the spot. Dave and his coworker, Mark, came out 2 days later drilled new pilot holes through the plate to the door and the frame and put in 3 inch screws. This re-secured the door properly and stopped the door from sagging and getting worse. Now the door opens and closes without any issue, just like it did when it was new. Dave and Mark were both very professional and you get the feeling that they really care about the people they provide service to and care about the quality of work they provide. I will definitely use Dave in the future.

+ 0 moreVery responsive; called back almost immediately when I first called to discuss what I needed, and made a timely and convenient appointment to do the work; showed up on time and brought their own tools; very careful, respectful and professional about dealing with my home and my things; packed up all the trash generated by the projects (including the old ceiling fan) and took it with them to dispose of; very knowledgeable and personable to boot. I have the highest praise for both of these guys; I will definitely use them again and recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Installed ceiling fan; installed kitchen sink sprayer (including running out to buy the right part that I did not have); hung several large, heavy pictures, using the appropriate picture hangers; installed shelving/ironing board hanging rack in laundry room; and (special bonus!) fixed a sticking drawer that I thought would never be useable again.
