Before we met Thomas at Veedone, we contacted about 7 roofers by email/phone, but unfortunately we received only 4 visits. Out of those 4, 3 roofers gave us a firmed quote (the 4th one didn't contacted us back until about 2 months later. He asked us if we still needed a quote, but luckily our roof was already complete by then). Thomas at Veedone quote was among the 3 quotes that we received. Besides the steps described above, Veedone included in its quotation: *3 pages report including a satellite picture of the roof *Colors available in the Sugar Land Area *Certificate of Liability Insurance The quote was very nicely lay out and easy to understand for somebody like us who has zero experience in dealing with building businesses or repair. Thomas was very professional, respectful, and kind. Any questions we had before the job started was quickly answered. Even after 6 months, the roof was done, we requested him a form that the insurance was in need of, his reply was very immediate. Besides the pricing which is reasonable and comparable, we decided to go with Veedone over the other 2 roofers for the main reason: Thomas was acting directly with our HOA on our behalf and he applied for the permit with the City of Missouri City, TX whereas the others 2 roofers demanded that we initiated all the administrative paperwork. Finally, our roof was done less than 2 days. The recently strong rain and wind from the past few months made us feel more comfortable and put our worries away. Thank you Thomas for the nice job!

I first met Thomas, the owner of VeeDone when I had his company perform some sheetrock work and painting at my first house. They did the work very well. When it was finished he mentioned his company?s main focus of expertise is roofing. At that time I had a roof put on about 4 years prior so I didn?t think too much of it. Fast forward to a different house and the hail storm we had in Houston and I found myself with a leaking roof. Thomas came over and determined a number of problems with my existing roof. Some of it was hail related and some of was from poor execution/deliberate deception by the previous roofer the previous owner had used. He saw that the addition to my house where the leak had a very low pitch and likely as a cost cutting practice, the previous roofer uses traditional shingles on it. Thomas said any roofer who saw this valley would know you cannot do that and not expects leaks. The lack of slope allowed rain to flow under the shingles if there was enough wind to carry it. Eventually a heavy and long storm caused my ceiling to bulge with water it was taking on from the improperly installed roof. The hail storm and subsequent damage led to Thomas discovering that I had a fake ridge vent put on my house. What is a fake ridge vent you ask? The previous roofer paid for the ridge vent material, mounted it onto the roof but did not cut the large vent in the roof to allow the air to flow. He also pointed out that in addition to my fake ridge vent the last roofer didn?t install any soffit vents anywhere around the house. Soffitsare required for a ridge vent to work properly. What this means is I had little to no ventilation from my attic. No wonder the previous owner?s wife complained that the house was so hot in summer. Thomas and his crew came in and fixed all my issues. They installed proper ridge vents, soffits, venting in the garage, and shingles everywhere that had a normal pitch. He used a torch down roof in the large, problematic area that completely prevents any water from entering in. I was very pleased with the care he gave me. He has a variety of colors and levels of shingles to pick from so you don?t feel you have to pick from one or two that he prefers. He explains everything to you that is being done and why. He is noticeably very kind to his workers. I noticed many of them are the same ones that first came to my older house 6 years ago. He was also very kind to my neighbors. He went to each one, introduced himself and apologized in advance for any noise. He tells each one if any trash or debris ends up in their yards to tell him immediately. This kindness and the nice roof he put on my house led to him getting my neighbors on both sides of me, and one directly across from me to get roofs as well. Two more neighbors down the street also used him. From that same hail storm Veedone had to redo my roof at my old house/ rent house because of the hail damage. That one was more involved since it required removing all of the decking. My tenant said everyone was very kind to her and the yard was clean when they completed their work. My father had some trouble with his hail damage claim at his house. His house is around the corner from mine so the storm impact should be similar. Two times the insurance company said they did not see enough damage to merit a new roof. I called Thomas and he scheduled a visit with an engineer from the insurance company. They both got on the roof and Thomas took out his chalk and drew his square. He then stated that the policy requires there be ten hail hits in an area to merit a new roof. Thomas pointed out over thirty to the engineer. A day later my dad was approved for a full roof. Thomas is very honest and transparent with you about everything going on with the project. He is there every day multiple times to ensure everything goes to plan. I trust his workers in my home and around my family which is one of my deciding factors for contractors. I appreciate Thomas helping in the insurance process because those things can be overwhelming for individuals who have never had to make a claim of this sort before. Anytime someone mentions needing a roof I give them Veedone?s number.
