Description of Work: After my dissatisfaction with the Geek Squad I was EXTREMELY leery of find some to repair my computer. The Geeks quoted me $300 to basically wipe out my information and restore my hard drive. Wow. So I put off getting the thing repaired because all I could envision was more of the same expense and dissatisfaction. So I went to Angie's list and found Sugarland PC. They were very polite and quoted me a much better price. Very, very professional people. It took a week to get my computer because there were some special issues with the computer. But I got it back working great. They restored my faith in computer repair shops!

+ -1 moreThe technician that comes out to my home does a really good work. He’s taught me some use skills, and because of that I was able to remove a virus all by myself at one point. I would definitely use them again. In fact, I plan calling them here in the near future.
Description of Work: They performed a lot of maintenance work, which has included getting rid of viruses and installing a new DVD player.

+ -1 moreNow there is an issue that probably means it's time for a new computer, but we don't want to buy a new one yet. Through email or phone calls, SugarLandPC has suggested various minor fixes that we could try on our own. I finally took it into the shop (which saved us all money), and they completed the work. The first technician had to leave before the job was finished, but he carefully explained the issues to the second technician. The second technician called me and gave me detailed information about next steps. This is a company where everyone will go above and beyond to help. And that's the way it's always been every time we've used their services. Honest, hardworking folks with great integrity.
Description of Work: These folks have fantastic customer service. We have a computer built by Sugar Land PC many years ago. We have used this computer trouble free for a very long time. Occasionally I had relatively minor questions, over issues that were confusing to me. SugarLandPC has always graciously responded by email or phone - usually within a few hours - at no charge. A couple of years ago, I had some upgrades. A friendly technician came to our home to do the work.. Charges have been at about $125/hr for awhile now - as mentioned in a previous review. The technician was very professional. He arrived at the appointed time, and the length of the job was very close to the estimate. When I asked about other upgrades I wanted to do myself, he encouraged me and gave me a couple of pointers which turned out to be a big time savings.

+ -1 moreI have used them several times. They are very efficient, timely and friendly. I get the same person pretty regularly to do the work. They don’t waste any time; they come in and do what they need to do. They charge $125 per hour, and I guess that is the going rate these days. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

+ -1 moreHorrible, I will never use them again. They do not warranty or stand behind anything they do.
Description of Work: I orginally hired Sugarland PC to set up and network my office computers. Immediately after they left we had problems and continued to have problems. They had to come out 3 times to try to fix QuickBooks, everytime they blamed the problem on something else and billed me. I ended up paying almost $1000 more in installation mistakes that they made, since they refued to warranty their work. Finally I paid, again, to have another company come out, they told me the QuickBooks was never installed and set up correctly. Since the new company came out I have not had a problem. As a business owner I have to stand behind my work, I was shocked that Sugarland PC does not stand behind anything they do. They will gladly come out again, just expect to pay big time for it.

+ -1 moreI dropped it off on Friday, and it was diagnosed and chip replaced. Not only did he replace the chip, but removed some software which was slowing the PC down. This is a four year old laptop which was starting to run slow. Now instead of replacing the laptop, we're keeping this one for a longer period of time.
Description of Work: Laptop started acting strangely, and memory chip had to be replaced.

+ -1 moreI CALLED CHARLES SWIHART ON SATURDAY MORNING TO SCHEDULED HIM TO CLEAN UP OUR COMPUTER AND HIS SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. HE CAME OUT AT 4:00 ON MONDAY AND IN 2 HOURS HAD MY COMPUTER RUNNING THE FASTER THAN EVER, WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS, AND WITHOUT DELETING ANY OF MY IMPORTANT FILES. HE WAS PROFESSIONAL, AND EXPERT IN HIS FIELD AND VERY FRIENDLY. HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT TO DO AND DID IT EFFICIENTLY. HE ALSO BUILDS WEBSITES AND PC. HE DOES COMMERICAL WORK AS WELL AS RESIDENTIAL HOUSE CALLS. THIS WAS MUCH BETTER THAN TAKING MY HARD DRIVE INTO BEST BUY. IT WAS FIXED IN A VERY SHORT TIME AND I HAD VERY LITTLE DOWN TIME FOR MY WORK. WE WERE EXTREMELY SATISFIED. HE ALSO CONTRIBUTES TO THE NEW TERRITORY MONTHLY NEWSLETTER RE: COMPUTER Q & A. WE'D DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN.
