Sugar Land Electric

I had the feeder line from my utility box in back to my meter go bad leaving my house with partial power. I called Sugar Land Electric as well as several other electricians and Dave came out the same day to take a look at the job and provided an estimate that evening as promised. Two days later Dave and his crew showed up (on time) and started work. They trenched about 80 feet and layed a new feeder in conduit. Centerpoint was less than responsive and helpful, but that isn't Dave's fault. He called and if Centerpoint came out when they said all would have been smooth. A complication arose when Centerpoint came by the next day and decided they couldn't connect me so Dave sent out a guy first thing Monday morning to strip the wire for them. I finally got full power back and have many negative things to say about Centerpoint, but Dave was awesome and I will definitely call him for future work.

Rick came out and we discussed what needed to be done. I told him I wanted to do the trenching and conduit, he could do the wiring and connections, and get the permits. He quoted me $200 for the permit, and $79/hr if they needed to come out and do anything particular to finish the project. He advised me thoroughly on what I needed to do. He did not charge for the visit. I did the trenching, but there were too many other obstacles to overcome, and I just went with another electrician who had an attractive turnkey bid.

Overall the job went very well. One of the breakers failed, but was replaced quickly.

The technician was excellent. The office only scheduled one day for what amounted to a two day job. The was some negiotiation but it all worked out well. One of the breakers installed in the new panel was faulty but that matter was dealt with promptly.

This would be a "not applicable". No one showed up.

The problem with Sugar Land Electric is that it arbitraily cancels its appointments. They had already rescheduled us to a later date the first time around. On the new appointment several days later, after taking off work and waiting several hours, they called at the last minute to say "something came up, "we're short-handed," "emergency," ...the usual set of excuses. Note that I had called in the first place about a short that resulted in our outdoor lights smoking, so that's not exactly routine either. In short, Sugar Land Electric isn't reliable because they break their appointments, leaving you unsure of when your electrical problem will ever be resolved by them.

As we needed to get this fixed immediately, we called Sugar Land Electrical based on the reports listed here. Unfortunately, their technicians could not get to us that day due to being fulled booked. However, they were nice enough to recommend another electrical service company which was able to help us. We really appreciated the professional way they handled the call and the recommendation of another reputable company. Based on their response, we would not hesitate to use them in the future.

The price was a little more than I thought it would be but he did a good job. I don’t have anything else to compare their price to. I thought it was going to be in the $400-$500 range. I don’t know if it was reasonable or not. He did a really good job on every aspect. They were here when they said they were going to be here and they were clean. I wasn’t here when they were here but my wife was and she didn’t complain about them. I went through Angie’s List because I knew I wasn’t going to be here. I wanted to be able to trust somebody in my house and around my wife.

My bedroom ceiling fan had lost power about a month ago. I called Sugar Land Electric after getting estimates from several other over priced electrical companies. They came out two days later and found the problem and fixed it all for $150, several other companies wanted $200 just to begin looking for the problem. I will be calling Sugar Land Electric for any future electric needs.

Sugar Land was on time and everything fit. I was comfortable with them.

Called early a.m on 9/5/2011 to request troubleshooting of flickering lights in two bathrooms and a hallway in our home. Operator scheduled an early afternoon appointment for same day. Technician "Billy" arrived promptly and resolved the problems very quickly. He replaced several old wall switches that were questionable and a wall outlet that was definitely defective and solved the problem of flickering lights. I am very impressed with the prompt and courteous service offered by Sugar Land Electric and the reasonable price charged. I will definitely use them again as my first choice when needing electrical work.

They did a really good job. It was a simple job, but they did great and didn't take advantage of me.

He fixed the fan in the bedroom and replaced the one in the art room. My art room has high slanted ceilings so it was a difficult job. The gentleman did all the jobs that i had asked for him to do, then cleaned up and took the old fan away for me. He was very polite and pleasant to be around. Very professional. Got service the following day after first contact. Were punctual and did the following in two hours: replaced two ceiling fans with new ceiling fans, tested them, and cleaned up after the job was done. He also recommended where we could donate our old ceiling fans so that they could be re-used. That really helped. They had discounts that exceeded that on Angie's list and he applied the best one for us.

Great, they are very professional. They show up on time, and call ahead. I felt confident in their skills. In attempting to solve our problem, he looked through all the likely issues and when no solution was found he began working through the house to figure out how it had been wired! Problem found! (GFI was tied to the guest bathroom!) Both times we have used them they get to work and don't stop till the job is done!

The problem was an outlet in the garage that was RDFI and wired incorrectly. The representative rewired the outlet and solved the problem. He was prompt and very professional. He also offered advise on other electrical issue that I was able to correct myself.

The overall experience was excellent. They were very professional and the price was reasonable. I will use them again in the future.

The electrician, who had been promised between 12 and 5, arrived at 5 PM. The appointment was able to be scheduled within 24 hours of when I called. The electrician was very professional and personable. He placed drop cloths on our wood floor before bringing in his ladder. He wired and installed a ceiling fan light fixture which had an unconnected wall switch; he also repaired kitchen ceiling fixture. Very pleased with the service.

After a light fixture blew out on a ceiling fan we called 2 different electrical contractors to not only replace the ceiling fan but also add some canned lighting in two different rooms. Vince from Sugar Land Electric showed up right on time and gave us a quick honest quote on the services. He recommended we go buy the fixtures ourselves and pay a straight labor fee for the work. So we did just that. He, again, showed up on time, and quickly installed a new ceiling fan and 11 canned lights in the house in about 6 hours.

He was prompt. The work has worked perfectly ever since. Before every time it would rain that outlet would go out. It had a fountain attached to it and it would knock out the whole room. He went above and beyond. He fixed things that I didn't know needed to be fixed and when they were done they improved things. I questioned one outlet and he said that it was good and didn't need to be fixed. I don't feel like he took advantage of me. I feel like he was honest. He was timely and prompt. I was real thrilled. The pricing was reasonable. I felt it was a good price for the time he spent here. We had added on a room and I wish that I had used him for that electrical work. He was friendly but he didn't talk too much. He was appropriate, very appropriate.

Arrived on time, did the work professionally and left the place clean and neat... could not ask for more.

They were wonderful, and my experience with them was great. They were courteous, on time, and just very nice. The price was adequate. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.
