This review is from the perspective of the buyer, so it could be considered a biased review. I felt it was important to write this review, because if I was a person wanting to sell a property I would want ensure my agent did everything possible to ensure a successful sale and that my interests were met. I had put in an offer to purchase a property Suzette Peoples represented. My offer had a letter from my lender pre-approving me for an amount more than the purchase price of the property. As a response to my offer, my credit score value was requested, which I am told is an unusual request. I choose not to share that information, but instead said if there were any questions to the validity of my offer * pre-approval, the lender should be contacted. Suzette did reach out to my lender. I am told that there were multiple questions about my credit & financial status asked. This information is protected by Federal privacy rules and cannot be shared, which is what my lender told her. An 'unofficial' counter offer was then proposed. I say unofficial, since the counter came back with the note, "This is not a counter offer". I am unsure why this would be, but I let it pass and treated it as a counter offer. One of the key points to the 'counter' offer was that number of days for third party financing was changed from 20 (what I understand to be the standard) to 10. I have absolutely no control over how many days this takes. And worked with my lender to figure out if 10 day requirement could be met, and if not what would be the quickest turnaround time. We updated our offer and resubmitted it. I should note there were multiple items up for negotiation than that, but felt it was important to highlight with the prior financial questions that were asked & now being asked to meet an accelerate time for 3rd party financing. Again, the reply was an 'unofficial' counter. I believe we were in agreement on most points except price at this time, where the difference of the amount was a little over $1000. At this point I was frustrated with the selling agent, especially in the unofficial counters. Our reply was we were not budging on our offer and if our offer could not be treated formally with a real counter, that we were happy to walk away. The reply was that the deal was off and that the sellers would not move from the price. It is a shame that deal could not be successfully negotiated. Especially when the monetary difference between offers was $1000+. For me the issue was not the price, I would of agreed to the sellers unofficial counter amount. The issue was that, inappropriate questions were asked about my financial status and that the offers were not responded to with official counter offers. I felt that no matter how much I compromised, an issue would come up and the deal would never go through. If roles were reversed, and I the sellers, I would be very unhappy to learn that a deal fell through for these reasons. I felt that I was not unreasonable and a desirable candidate for anyone looking to sell a property. I have tried to state the facts simply and without any bias.

Interesting as the Listing Broker representing my clients best interest, let me share my view. I was hired to protect and negotiate in the best interest of the seller not the buyer. I did everything in that best interest. The buyer has a Realtor representing his interest as well. Over 25 years of successful negotiating for my clients tells all.

This was my brother's house who had passed away. She kept on top of the Realtor in Temple for me and helped to cordinate the sale and closing of this home. She was very professional, and a very tough negotiator and honest. I would recommend her to anyone that needs to get their home sold or to purchase a home.
