I called on a Monday and they were able to come Tuesday morning. They were a little later than the appointment time, but this was not an issue since we had other work going on in the house as well. Service was great.

Prompt and friendly. He explained what he was doing and used extreme care in doing it. He carefully removed a marble portion of the wall without damaging it to access the broken pipe. Explained what needed to be done to replace the marble and how to replace the new spout. Very pleased with the work.

Excellent service and price! Chris Mock came out on the 4th of July, just a little more than 12 hours after my call to him. This is a rent house and the gas company had refused to turn-on the gas until repairs were made to the gas line on stove and the hot water heater was elevated by 18 inches and a shut-off valve installed. Chris arrived on time, worked quickly, and although he recommended a new hot water heater (which we agreed was wise), the landlord had rejected that recommendation so Chris worked with the old hot water heater and brought it up to code. After all work was done, we asked if he would mind connecting the water line to the refrigerator and he did that for just a small extra charge. Chris' charge was less than the estimate from another plumber and he provided wonderful customer service, listening to our needs and then working with us to get the best solution.
Description of Work: Installed new gas connection line for gas stove; connected water line to refrigerator; elevated hot water heater, installed a shut-off valve, and replaced all old connections with new flexible connectors.

Brandon was on time and performed a very good job. Got right to work after we talked about what I wanted done and there was no attempt to "sell" me other services. Very professional, VERY neat and all work was done as requested. I was surprised at his youthfulness but the job he did was exceptional. I would not hesitate to call Mock back for any plumber type work.

After the repairman disassembled the leaky bathroom faucet, he gave me a higher price than I had been quoted to do the entire job. He did not stay in the quote I was given over the phone. When I made him aware of the quote, he didn't budge on the higher price. So I had another plumber do the work, for less money. I also had to call him back to fix the leak in one of the new hose bibs he had installed, which he fixed the same day.
Description of Work: Installed 2 new hose bibs. Replaced knobs on washing machine connections and hooked up my washer. Replaced gas connection with new parts on the gas dryer and hooked up my dryer. Disassembled a leaky bathroom faucet.

[member name removed], I apologize for the price change from the quote over the phone not being the same as Brandon gave you. On small residential service items, I normally try and gather some information over the phone to give a good faith estimate. Once we get on the job, sometimes details are seen that inflate the quoted cost. Furthermore, from time to time, there can be some miscommunication on our part. I hope that you will give us another opportunity and will discount your bill by 15% if you decide to. Lastly, if a technician tells you something different than you were told on the phone, please feel free to have him call back to the office or call me directly. I certainly do not like bad reports, but I do appreciate your feedback as it will help us better serve you in the future. Sincerely, Chris Mock

Two young gentlemen came to the house on time from Mock Plumbing. The young man that appeared in charge of the crew was nice but again did not introduce himself his assistant did introduce himself. I should them the toilet that was leaking and they went straight to work on the replacement. I had spoken to Chris Mock 2 days prior to the work being done and he quoted me $350.00 for the replacement toilet and work. They both went about the business of removing the old toilet and replacing it with the new one. The work was done well; however, when I went to hand the young man the check for the service he stated it would be $25 more than was quoted to me by Chris. I was not notified of the additional charge ahead of time which would have been nice. I had to write another check to cover the difference. All in all, I was very satisfied with the work and I would use them again.

All service went well with the exception of the price. We considered it a little high. .
Description of Work: Representative arrived at location told him what was needed. He said since it was underground their would be a surcharge of $200.00. We gave him permission to proceed with the work. He installed the cut-off valve then installed the isolation valve for the system. The total price for this day was $337.50. Came back the next day installed the vent hood for the hotwater heater and the charge was $67.50.

The repair went fine ? they were quick and cost-effective, and it has never been such a relief to get hot water running in the house again. My rating for professionalism is because someone ? either Mock or the Entergy rep ? neglected to check that all (old) appliances had the proper valve shutoff handles according to the current code. So when the guy came back out to turn the gas back on, he could not legally do so as the stove was not properly valved. I called Mock to ask about this, and I was upset (we had been 11 days without heat or hot water). Chris hung up on me, then gave me a lecture when I called back, as if I was supposed to take responsibility for his oversight. To his credit, he came back and installed the valve for free, but that attitude was unnecessary. It was the only blip in an otherwise good experience.
Description of Work: They repaired a leak in the main gas line to my home. No other local plumbers would even come out that week as it was raining. Chris and his helper were prompt to respond, on time to do the work, and efficient.

Several days after I called, the office manager called (she'd had the flu) and said plumber would call same day, but it was another several days before he called. He was polite and apologetic for the delay. I went ahead and proceeded since he had good reviews on Angie's list. He didn't have the brand of water heater I wanted even though he was listed on the manufacturer's website, and he didn't seem to know what an efficiency ratio was. I researched his local supplier's brands and tech sheet, and agreed to the type they had on hand. Plumber arrived at scheduled time, and appears to have done a quality installation and corrected something that he found in need, but the bill was quite surprising -- $1250 to replace a 50 gal electric water heater. The invoice didn't itemize component costs and I wasn't there to ask, so I don't know the cost of the unit nor number of hours worked. I suspect I may have also been charged for the extended warranty, because I had inquired, but had verbally said I didn't want to pay an extra $200+ for it. Anyway, I should have requested an estimate in advance but foolishly failed to do that since it seemed a basic service.

(member name removed), We use flat rate charges for jobs. Meaning we have set pricing for every task. We take into account the cost of material and average labor hours required to do the job. In the future I would encourage you to state the serivce you are needing and we will be able to give you a set price for the job requested. I apoligize for the lack of details on your ticket and will have a talk w/my employees to start doing a better job detailing the ticket receipts. So, in the future please ask our price before hand on any future work and please do not hesitate to call in the future if you have any more issues or concerns. As an apology I would like to offer you an additional 10% off your next service call. Thanks, Chris Mock

We called Mock and they came out within 2 days and quickly fixed the problem. They gave us 10% Angie?s List discount on the $150 minimum charge, which we found to be on the high side of normal. Our other complaint is that we had to call Mock when he didn?t show up at the scheduled time. His excuse was that he forgot to mark his calendar and then came out immediately thereafter with apologies.

There work was a huge success and it now keeps the water off the carport and heading to the street.
Description of Work: We had a major problem with the drainage on the left side of our house so we decided to contact some plumbers to who specialized in drainage. The first person we found was Chris Mock the owner of Mock Plumbing. We explained the situation over the phone and the next day Chris was at my front door at 7:30 am to give us a quote. Chris was a true professional and we felt so comfortable with Chris that we decided to not even get any other quotes had have them complete the job. After the first rain we needed a little adjusting so I called Chris and he came out and added another drain hole at no cost to me.

Water heater replacement went smoothly, took Chris and his helper about two hours. They were very professional and efficient. I don't know how the price compared because I didn't call anyone else. My old water heater started leaking just before Christmas, they came out two days after Christmas, which was acceptable timing for me because I wasn't going to be home much between the time that I discovered the leak and when they could do the replacement so I just turned off the water to the water heater. The timing worked perfectly for my schedule. The only less-than-perfect thing was communication. Before Christmas, when I spoke to Chris, he said that he'd try to get by on 12/26 to look at the problem so he could be sure he brought the right replacement heater (heater is in attic with limited access so size mattered) and if I hadn't heard from him by noon to call him. I called the main Mock number shortly after noon on 12/26 and the person who answered the phone said that Chris was at another job. A few minutes later, Chris called me back and said that they had taken the day off. Either one was fine with me, I just was a little uncomfortable that I got two different explanations.

The week of Christmas, 2012, we were visiting my elderly (in their 80's) parents. They have lived in a 2 bedroom trailer in Prairieville, LA, for the past 20 years. There's no city water, but an underground well. There has been very little water pressure at all of the faucets in their home for quite some time. We decided to call a plumber to come out and give us an estimate of the charges to tell us what the problem might be, and fix it. My husband determined, before the call was made, that there was more than likely nothing wrong with the tank or the pump, but rather in the line from the tank to the house. Based on Angies List reviews, along with Mock Plumbing?s close location to my parents, and their website that advertised "free estimates", we called them. They were closed, so we left a message and phone number to call. After the holidays, we still had not heard from Mock Plumbing, so I called them again and set up an appointment for them to come out and give my parents an estimate for plumbing repairs. A technician went there at the scheduled day and time. The technician was there nearly an hour. The whole time he was looking at the water tank, he was on the phone with his boss Chris Mock, the owner of Mock Plumbing. Upon leaving my mother's home, he said it was determined that the tank would need to be replaced because "it had a bad bladder". He told my mother that she owed him $75.00 for his "troubleshooting". He told her it might take a few days to find a tank to replace the old one "since it was so old". He said that when they found one, they would be back replace the old one. She wrote him a check for $75.00, and he left. After hearing of this from my mother, my brother called Mr. Mock to find out why they charged $75.00 for an estimate, when they advertise that estimates are free. My brother was very upset. Mr. Mock said that he would tear up the check. My brother told Mr. Mock that since he offered to do so, he could tear up the check. Then Mr. Mock called me "since I was the one who called and set up the appointment" (whatever difference that makes, I don't know). He said that he didn't feel that he should tear up the check, since his tech spent an out at the house "troubleshooting" (we know that there was no actual work done "troubleshooting". I mean, how much work can you do looking at a water tank, right?). I told him to keep the $75.00 (he was pretty upset about the possibility of tearing it up), but to email a quote to me for the repairs. I also told him to include a cost to replace the waterline from the water tank to the house (we know this pvc waterline was only about 6 inches or less under the ground, and ran about 15 feet or less from the pump to the underside of the trailer). He said that he (over the phone with his technician) were the professionals, and had already determined that the problem was the tank, but he would include a separate cost for replacing the pipe. Oh, and by the way he mentioned, we may have to install a new pump, if the old pump didn't work properly with the new tank. The estimate was emailed to me the next day (January 8th). The cost, to replace the pressure tank along, was $625.00. The cost to replace the water line (in case they found out after installing it that the pressure tank wasn't the problem) was another $950.00 The cost to replace a new well pump was an additional $725.00 (for our future reference, in case we also wanted to replace the pump). No mention was made on the "conceptual quote" of the $75.00 estimate fee that was already paid. After receiving this ?free estimate? that cost $75.00, we called another plumber, who came out a few days later. He said that the pressure tank and pump worked just fine (as we suspected), and that it would cost us no more than $200-$300 to repair the water line. This second plumber did not know that we had had a previous estimate, who gave it to us, or how much it was. Nor did the second plumber charge us a fee for his estimate, or for "troubleshooting", as Mock Plumbing did. He came out the following week and spent about 3 hours replacing the water line. Due to its age, the old line was plugged up with residue (iron deposits, etc.). After the water line was replaced, there was all the water pressure in all of the faucets (including the washing machine) that my parents could ever have imagined! They were ecstatic! This plumber charged $210.00 for his services and labor. My 83-year old mother happily wrote him a check for $210.00. We saved many hundreds of dollars, perhaps thousands, by getting another estimate. Unfortunately, however, the $75.00 check my mother gave to the Mock Plumbing technician has already been cashed by Mock Plumbing. I can't understand the number of good reviews on Angies List for this company. I'm also disgusted that a company can advertise "free estimates" on their website, then charge a $75.00 fee for "troubleshooting". People reading this, whatever you do, if you get an estimate from Mock Plumbing, be sure to get a second, or even a third, estimate from another plumber. Be prepared, however, to pay Mock Plumbing a $75.00 fee for "free estimates", and quite possibly an exorbitant fee for their services and/or replacement parts. Thank Goodness we had time to get another plumber's estimate and work! A new representative, Sean Webb, contacted me on 2/11 and was very courteous. He was very professional and apologized profusely. He offered me a $75 refund on a service call and quote I received and also offered a discount on any further services.

I have been calling around trying to get estimate for a major add on to my house. Because of their high rating, I called Mock and let them set the time to come over and review the job. They were a no-show and called 45 minutes past the appointment time to tell me they couldn't make it. They said they would call Monday morning and reschedule. I left the house Monday at 12:30 pm (it ain't morning anymore), when I got home there was a message on my phone from1:45pm trying to contact me. This is not the way to run a business fellows. I've had two other companies show up and give me estimates already. The only reason you don't get an "F" is you did at least call. That's better than some of the other plumbers I called.
Description of Work: If you can't show up for the estimate, I'm concerned you won't show up for the job.

Current Customer and Potential Customers, Thank you for taking a minute to share thoughts with others. Mock Plumbing is a small business that is under going growing pains. I wanted to take a minute and write this response to those considering hiring Mock Plumbing. Our current work load and calls coming in are more than we can currently handle. It may be some time before I am able to staff up to meet this demand. If you happen to call and leave a message and get no return call or do not get the return call in a timely manner, it is not that we do not care.
