 + -1 moreDon't use the Sugarland store. I would not let them back in MY house. Even though I had to pay them to move appliances, it seemed that they broke everything they touched. Broke the wheel on the refrigerator the back door would not close because they screwed up the weather stripping. Crushed the dryer vent and they could not even hook it up correctly. They messed up the toilet bowl reinstall and even the grout looks uneven. It took them weeks to find wood trim and in the end I had to send them to home depot where they had plenty of trim in stock. Thought they might want to stay for diner since they came so late in the morning and stayed well past my dinner time. What a mess!

The pricing was great. They were very courteous. They were on time. They completed the in the time frame promised and the cleanup fast and complete. Since then I've bought a new house and I'm going to use them again. I highly recommend Lone Star Floors for your flooring needs.

 + 2 moreThey did great work! We remodeled our home and have lived in it with the work complete for 2 years now. One obstacle that they overcame beautifully is that our second level is not exactly "level". the subfloor rises and falls slightly in some areas. I don't know how they did it, but they were able to tile over it without there being sharp edges or looking weird. I was very nervous about whether the wood tile would look cheesy. It doesn't, it looks like wood. From what I understand, it's not easy to achieve that look, but their experience and attention to detail produced a great end result. Friends are always stunned to discover that it's tile, which is exactly what I wanted. We will and have used them again!

The store managers agreed that what we received was not the sample we selected and had on hand, they also, agreed that we were entitle to refund, but some days later the owner of company a slick talking Arab fellow refused to acknowledge the obvious difference and denied to honor his store manager promise to collect and refund our money.|Need I say more, this vendor is a predator so beware of LONE STAR FLOORS.

 + -1 moreLone Star provided a very quick, and very accurate estimate of the cost of the wood flooring and installation. Folks in the store were very helpful and professional in settling on the actual flooring and setting a time for the installation. They were very accommodating to my schedule as well. Installers arrived a little late, but well within an acceptable time. At arrival, there were two installers, but fairly shortly, the second installer left...and did not return. The remaining installer was very, very good, but he was all on his own. We only had one family room done and it should have taken just one day (tops). It took almost two days with just one installer. Excellent work, quality installation, and great price....well worth taking two days. I highly recommend Lone Star, but be prepared for installation taking a bit longer than expected.

This was all done in one day Also sams price was cheeper than my other bids. Went by their store and got a bona cleaning kit at no charge. Thank you Sam for a wonderful job.  + 0 moreMohamed and everyone with Lone Star Floors, are extremely easy to deal with. They are very helpful, not pushy and have quality products, installers and anyone needed for a remodeling job. Phone calls are answered promptly or returned shortly...every single time. They do what they say they will do and everyone associated with them, go out of their way to please you. I believe they attract people who have a similar style and desire to please you. All tradesmen I've met who work with them, has been highly experienced and excellent in what they do. Certainly more than just a flooring store!
Description of Work: I had been searching for flooring for 3 months, never finding what I needed to match my existing granite and wallpaper. I grew tired of the over aggressive sales associates in many stores and total lack of help in others for my small job. However, when I stopped into Lone Start Floors on Mason Road in Katy, and was met by Mohamed, it was immediately clear this business was different. Extremely polite, not pushy, he listened to what I was seeking, and kindly brought my choices to me....while telling me he had more choices at the other store in Sugarland that I should see. He listened to what I wanted and did not show me samples that did not fit my needs. When I saw something else in the store I liked, he would tell me I might not be happy with it...because it did not fit with what I had told him I wanted. I was very impressed that he focused on what I was looking for and not just the "sale". Their choice selection between the two stores is wonderful. Huge selection. I later needed a decorator to help me with colors, after choosing floor samples, to have another opinion to make sure colors worked well, and to help choose paint tones. Mohammed recommended a wonderful decorator, Ms. Denise Sampson, who is friendly, has a great detailed eye, works quickly and decisively ....and within my budget. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Also, the installer who works for them was also very good, considerate, and went out of his way to make sure I was happy. Overall, it was clear that Mohamed's business is one to be trusted and valued! Also, I learned they do all types of remodeling....which I know will save me from headaches in the future.

 + 0 moreWe installed our whole house (except media room) with engineered hard wood through lone star floors.We bought the wood floors here and they also install the floors , overall they did very good job.The sales consultant is very patient and the installer is professional.The good thing about installing is that they don't use contract labors, the installer from store (ours is Simon, strongly recommend) is very professional and responsible.He did the leveling first (for the first whole day ) and installed the first floor with glue and second floor floating.We had a good experience with them overall.

 + 3 moreAvoid this guy like the plague. You have to supply all kinds of things you shouldn't have to (paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies, painters tape). Once Ziad gets your deposit, you don't see or hear from him again until he wants more money. I kept waiting for him to finish my bathroom, and then I received my credit card bill and realized he had made an unauthorized charge on the bill three weeks earlier when he decided he was finished. I thought I decided when the job was complete, but not with Ziad. The job was not finished to my satisfaction, but he insisted everything was done to some specification or other that changes every time you talk to him. The granite bench in the shower does not drain although he insists it should. The tile in the shower was installed haphazardly and not at all the way it should have been. Also, make sure you get the tile and granite you pay for. He will make you buy way more than is needed and will keep the remainder if you don't watch him. He then resells the left over granite and tile to someone else. I truly wish I had used another tile/granite contractor for my bathroom, but used Ziad because my general contractor knew Ziad's workers could do the shower work which was tricky.
Description of Work: This company, led by Ziad Mukhaimer, oversaw my kitchen remodel. I was impressed with the plumbing/electric/carpentry subcontractor, Joe. When it came time to do my bathroom, I used Joe, and subcontracted with Ziad. Ziad does flooring and countertops. When his guys show up to do the demolition, they have no supplies and you have to supply garbage bags, cleaning supplies, brooms, tape, etc. Ziad promises a lot of things that don't get delivered and since he doesn't like to itemize his estimates, it is hard to get him to deliver or to reduce his bill. His people ruined the grass in my yard by dumping their unused grout in the grass and cleaning out the buckets in the flower beds. They left the area where they stored the supplies a complete mess.

 + 5 moreWe bought a house and decided to remodel all the bathrooms. Three and one-half bath. Ziad came by with Denise, an interior decorator, to look at the home and take measurements. As with all remodeling, there are always a difference in opinion between husband and wife. They took us to a home that they just finished remodeling and that helped us come to an agreement. After deciding on the fixtures, colors, tile, frame less glass doors etc; Ziad started the remodeling. He was at the job sit every day to oversee his crew and even perform the work himself. Ziad was also kind enough to clean out the drains of the house since the previous owners left a clump of two foot long hair in the drains of all the bath tube and sinks. Ziad also changed out all the toilets for us. They discovered that one of the toilet was sitting on plywood that had rotted through. He showed it to us and provided a recommendation for fixing the problem. He also had to install a offset flange on another toilet to accommodate the 12 inch rough out for the toilet. They finished the work in one and a half weeks. They customer service after the completion of the job was also excellent. We discovered that there were leaks in the frame less glass shower enclosure. We contacted Ziad and he arranged a time to meet us and came out to fix the problem. We are very happy with the remodeling. Thank You Ziad PS True to his word, nothing leaks after the remodeling.

 + 1 moreMr. Ziad came and took measurments, then he went away tyo plan and estimate the work. He returned on Saturday morning when my wife was available and briefed us on his ideas and plan. The estimated cost provided was for a little over $16,000.00 USD and he was willing to start two days later. The work was estimated to require one week. The estimate included quality materials. We know from previous experience with this company that Mr. Ziad does very good work. However, we did not proceed as the estimate was higher than what we had been budgeted for this particular project..
Description of Work: We wanted an estimate to re-do the Master Bathroom. In summary, the work recommended by Mr. Ziad would have included: a. removal of the old bath tub and shower b. removal of the old vanity top c. removal of the old lighting d. removal of the two old faucets; e. installation of a new vanity top (granite) f. installation of a new Master Shower (double size) that would include also a porcelain seat, two storage shelves for shampoo / soaps etc..., new glass enclosure , drain etc... g. installation of two new lights and two new faucets

 + 2 moreI went in to the Sugar Land store to discuss the work I wanted done with Ziad and look at samples. Ziad was able to come to see the room, make recommendations on materials and provide an estimate the next day. I went with his recommendations and couldn't be happier with the results. The new laminate, granite, and tile look wonderful. Ziad estimated a week to get the work done and it was completed in that timeframe. The plumber even cleaned out the pipes to the bathroom sink so I now have great water pressure. There were a couple of followup items, but they were taken care of quickly and to my satisfaction. I will definitely use them on my next project.

 + -1 moreWhen my husband and I first walked into the store, we were especially delighted to see a well organized, well lighted [my demand :)], and well stocked with many options - clean store. Not to mention a serious professional willing to get our business. Why? Because our last Floor contact failed us; within 7 days of starting the project BEFORE THANKSGIVING! We had up to 18 guests to come and I was, well let's just put it 'aggravated!!!'. But, no doubt, Lone Star Floors [love that name anyway], came to our rescue. They completed the task within 3 days [as they had promised] and, produced a beautiful quality showcase - just in time for Thanksgiving. Remember, I only had a matter of 4 days to work with. They were also very competitive in prices as I had gone to several other stores/sites. The only item I would ask is that they update you should they require more than 5 bags of cement to level a floor. That way you are not surprised of a possible increase in your total. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone! Best of Life to you.

 + -1 moreThe owner and representatives from Lone Star floors were all helpful and seemed to want to do everything they could to get our business, including working with our tight time line. We obtained 3 quotes and theirs was competitive ($2.25/sq ft for wood sand and refinish and $1.50/sq ft for quarter round replacement). The owner worked with my schedule both for the quote and to pick up the keys, and the crew worked into the evening to meet our deadline and even finished a day ahead of schedule. I had trouble communicating with the crew however when the owner was not around. The quality of the work was fair. The color of the floors is even and as expected, but there are significant marks in a swirling pattern from the sanding machine in nearly every room - these are especially obvious when the light shines in from the windows (which I unfortunately did not catch until after the final walk-through that I requested with the owner). Also, they seem to have damaged one set of sliding closet doors that they removed during the process. Overall, I'd say their customer service was great, but the quality of their work was only okay. Still, we were able to move into our house on schedule.
Description of Work: We just purchased a home and wanted to have the floors refinished before moving in, we had a very short window to get the work done before we had to vacate our old house and move into the new one. We were new to the area and new to home ownership, so the whole process was fairly foreign to us. We have about 900 sq ft of hardwoods which were in decent shape but the finish was quite worn, so we were looking to have the floors refinished, quarter-rounds replaced, and minor gaps filled.
