As agreed with the Mr. McCarble of American Construction Unlimited, we had completed all of the demo work ourselves, prior to his arrival. He was late arriving. We requested that the shower head be 10 inches from the finished ceiling, He placed it approximately 9 inches from the finished ceiling. The backer-board for the tile was applied with the regular drywall screws, which would eventually rust and break away. The shower pan liner was not cut to the proper height, and was improperly attached, the wrong size drain was used, and the shower floor was improperly graded, so that water would pool, rather than drain. The curb of the shower was the wrong width and height. The drywall seams were not properly taped and floated, leaving divots and gaps, and the corners did not meet up properly. The ceiling drywall was not secured properly, and sagged in several places. We requested an orange peel texture on the ceiling, but got a 1990's swirl pattern instead, and were told by Mr. McCarble, the owner of the company, that "it's the same thing". Our bathroom fan was vented into the attic, instead of out to the environment, as required by code. When we asked him to address the issues, he came back, poured some more cement in the shower floor, still not grading it properly. When we tried to talk to him about the other issues, he said "I'm out of here", got in his truck and left. The day after he left, we had the work inspected by three reputable plumbers. They all independently agreed that the work was poorly done, definitely not up to code, and could have resulted in severe water damage. We also found out that he not only did poor work, but had not filed the proper permits, and no inspections on the plumbing work and shower were ever done. We tried several times to talk with Mr. McCarble , trying to resolve the situation. He texted us that the other plumbers were "pulling our leg", and that we should look on You-Tube to see how a shower pan is properly installed. We reported the company to the BBB, along with reports from the other plumbers, and included photos. In his response to them, Mr. McCarble said that he didn't know what we were talking about, that everyone was happy when he left, which was untrue. He also stated that he had no idea who my husband was, and had never met him, even though they talked at the house several times. We tried to compromise, and settle with Mr. McCarble, but he has refused. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.
Description of Work: We contracted with this company to put up backer-board, drywall the remaining bathroom, drywall and texturize the ceiling, raise a shower head, change a valve (which we purchased), set a shower pan and drain, and change our bathroom fan (which we purchased) and vent it to the outside of the house.

I mailed Anthony McCarble a copy of the inspectiion report via certified mail with return receipt. The letter stated my dissatisfaction and a request for the work to be corrected or an refund. Anthony McCarble refused. Consequently, I had to file a small claims suit against American Construction Unlimited (Anthony McCarble) of 1819 Cedarwood Sugar Land Texas 77498. I received a judgement against Anthony McCarble in and amount of $6,500.00 with interest at a rate of 5%. He has refused to pay. The small claims case number is 12-JCV41-07189 dated January 3, 2013. This judgement has been filed with the County Court in Fort Bend County of Texas. Anthony McCarble refused to honor the small claims court judgement (Case No. 12-JCV41-07189 Fort Bend County, Texas) against him. To restore my property to an acceptable condition, I contracted with Eagle Patio Cover to correct Anthony McCarble's unacceptable work. Anthony McCarble added insult to injury by coming to my home and taking pictures of my home and the new patio built by Eagle Patio Cover. Anthony McCarble then posted those pictures on his web site as his own work to show before and after. Not only does Anthony McCarble perform unacceptable work he also engages in disceptive advertisement. Please be aware of this contractor, Anthony McCarble, as his work is not performed within established building codes and guidelines.
Description of Work: Anthony McCarble agreed to build a bigger patio to my brand new home built by D.R. Horton in January 2012. Anthony McCarble stated he could build a patio when in essence he could not. Anthony McCarble did not perfrom the work agreed upon. The patio that he build did was not aligned properly, it was crooked. His work he performed left my roof looking like a set of parenthesis. When I complained, he said the the patio looked nice and the he liked it. I told him it was not the structure he agreed to build. I asked him to correct the structure and he refused. I asked him to return a portion of my money and he refused. I had a building inspector evaluate the patio, and there were many flaws with his craftmanship. 1. Ridge shingles not straight 2. Shingles were cracked 3. Valley in need of repair 4. Nails exposded on the roof. 5. Porch had no ventilation 6. Patio roof improperly attached to the house and in need of additional support beam. 7. The beams that support the porch joist were improperly attached to the supporting post 8. Spliced wires in attic connecting the ceiling fan 9. Improper electrical support for the ceiling fans.
