Alltex Home Inspections

Stephen did good work. He pointed missing caulk spots, damaged shingles on the roof, high soil level and pointed that latch on the closet door needs to be adjusted. He also stopped early Saturday morning, which nobody usually gonna do. But he missed one major issue. The damper for air intake from outside was wide open and humidity inside of the house was matching street level (apart only 2%). As he explained to me, that dampers and extra AC/Furnace hardware are out of MINIMAL "Tex. Admin. Code 535.230" scope. I love when professionals going above and beyond and I'm trying to avoid those who providing only minimal requirement services. Next time I'll better pay extra and found another inspector, who is doing extra to the "minimal code". If you need inspection ASAP, - Stephen is the guy. Otherwise, - look into another place.

I can't begin to explain how satisfied I am with Stephen Perry. He inspected my very first home 2 years ago when I moved to Houston for residency. My prior satisfaction is what led me to Stephen again for my second home purchase. Firstly, he was very accommodating in scheduling his visit during a time that worked with my busy residency program. Not only was he prompt, his inspection was thoughtful, measured, and comprehensive. While inspecting all four levels of our potential town home purchase, including climbing onto our accessible roof, he explained what he found and answered all of my questions about potential issues. Any questions that I didn't ask as to not interrupt his workflow were answered in his detailed inspection which came ten hours earlier than he promised! His inspection report, as with last time, was beyond thorough and provided helpful maintenance tips for the home to prevent further damage. We are still considering whether we will move forward with this home purchase, given all of the issues Stephen discovered with the home. If it wasn't for his work, we may be stepping blindly into a home that may need more work than we can afford. I can say this with confidence because when I examined another company's inspection report of a neighbor who lives in the same townhome complex, I noted that it was not nearly as thorough and detailed as Stephen's report. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Stephen Perry for all your home inspection needs. If this house purchase falls through, I will hire him again for the next inspection.

Stephen showed up on time. Throughout the inspection, he was constantly giving me feedback in explaining what he was looking for and why he was looking for it as well as maintenance tips and suggestions. In the end, I received a comprehensive 69-page report with annotated pictures explaining the findings and all the maintenance tips mentioned above. I have used home inspectors in the past that seem are not nearly as thorough. Stephen is the best and definitely worth the money. It is too bad that I don't need a home inspector that often because I would like to hire him again.

My experience with Alltex was awesome. I scheduled Alltex on the day I was performing my walk through on a brand new house(so I could kill two birds with one stone). First thing was Alltex (Stephen) sent me a text when he was an hour away to say he was on his way. When he arrived he was very punctual and prepared he went over the contracted explained what he can do and mention some examples on what is out of his job scope plus introduced his assistant that was with him. While my fiancé and I was performing the walk through with the builder the only time they bothered us is where he felt something was wrong where he wanted to explained it to us(especially where found water coming in the house from the yard being watered). When he was done I was still performing my walk through so he gave me the option talking to him now or I could call him later. I called him later When I received my report it was amazing. The pictures and the details that he puts into the report is very detailed and very clear. His opinions and suggestions that he puts into the report are very ideas. The pictures that he puts into the report are very clear where you know exactly know what he is talking about in the report. Even though it is a new home he did find some things wrong with the house. He noticed some loose shingles on our two story house that he put into the report and where they were on the house. He also found some pressure caps on the drain plugs that needed to be removed. I will say he is a sellers nightmare

I highly recommend Steve to everyone who needs to do a home inspection. Steve is very patient and helpful, and he gave us a lot of useful comments and recommendation for the improvement. He also worked very efficiently, and sent us the report at the same day. I will 1000% hire him again for our future home inspection.

Steve was prompt, thorough, took time to explain everything that he found (things that were done well in the updating and things that were not done), and suggested other services that would be helpful. He suggested that I have the plumbing inspected which proved to be very necessary. All the other professionals he recommended were also prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend him if you are looking to purchase an older home.

We were in a bind and needed a second inspection on the structure/foundation asap due to refinancing. We called Alltex and our prayers were answered. Stephen worked us in and came out the very next day. Not only was he extremely professional, thorough and reasonably priced...he was just flat out a nice guy. He checked our home inside and out and explained everything in layman's terms so that there would be no room for speculation or misunderstanding. He then reviewed and took multiple measurements to assess the levelness of the foundation. He found that no repairs were needed which was great, nor did he try to sell us anything or refer us to anyone for frivolous work to be done like some contractors do. The beauty of it was that he was able to recommend several options on improvements for the future as well. Which my husband and I have already started to investigate to get the most out of our home and to ensure that we won't have problems years from now. Overall we were EXTREMELY delighted to find a contractor who was honest and shoots straight. We felt great about everything he did. I would use him again and definitely recommend him and his services a million times over. It's just so rare to find good contractors. We plan on calling Stephen out in a couple of years just to do another preventative maintenance check. This guys is the real deal folks.

I was in the process of purchasing my first home and needed a home inspection done quickly. Called Steven Perry on a Saturday - we set up the inspection for Monday afternoon. He arrived early, and he was very thorough. Since this is my first time purchasing a home, he took the time to answer my questions and explain things to me. He personally showed me things that were of concern, and things that might become a concern down the road. He was also able to inspect the pool as well and his price was very reasonalble. And he had the report to me first thing the next morning. I was considering using another inspector - but I chose Steven Perry after I researched his accreditaions on the TREC website as well as some other websites. He also recommended a very good termite inspector to me - who was able to come the same day. Steven exceeded my expectations.

Overall, from first contact to receiving report went very smoothly.

We bought an inventory home in Katy and hired Stephen to do a home inpsection for us. We had been having a few issues with the builder, and felt it would be in our interest to have the home professionally inspected. He came with us on our walk through a week before closing. He arrived early (actually before us), and got to work quickly. He found things wrong the builder hadn't seen -- including problems with the roof. We had his report the next day and sent it off to the builder to get the items on it fixed. I am very pleased with the inspection we had. Stephen was very professional and detailed, and very quick to answer any questions we had and worked to make sure we understood why the issues he pointed out were important to be fixed.

Referred by another inspector. I called him on Friday, expecting him to come out early the following week. He came out the next day and emailed me the report, complete with pictures by Sunday, the next day.

HE IS ALWAYS ON TIME AND EARLY. HE HAS HIS OWN SUPER KEY...VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE CATCHES THINGS THAT OTHER INSPECTORS MISS. VERY THOROUGH AND EFFICIENT IN GETTING REPORTS BACK. USUALLY SAME DAY IF NOT NEXT MORNING.
