Description of Work: I called Sun AC just to come check out a new air conditioning system that had recently been installed (in an emergency holiday situation) by another AC company -- we just did not trust that the other company knew what they were doing since they had to come out a couple of times later to 'fix' things done during installation. Sun AC came out and did a visual inspection and explained some things about our system..and calmed our worse fears. As long as he did not have to 'take out a wrench' and fix anything he said the whole trip charge was FREE...I never expected that. The guy was SO nice and explained things very well and thoroughly. We are going to set up a contract with them to come out twice a year to check things. Definitely I recommend Sun AC, and will use them for any future AC Htg problems.

Description of Work: Doing the inspection was fine, but the service tech claimed we needed 12 pounds of Freon and had an evaporator coil leak. Coincidentally, he just had everything he needed and could repair everything for $2,88.00 plus the Freon which was around $65.00 / pound. Two other vendors were called and both found nothing wrong with the system. This guy was a Con Artist - I wonder if his company knows about it? This is true, I have the paperwork to prove it.

It's impossible to tell wether they did or didn't - the guy came in, saw two units, said we paid for one, went up and down the stairs, spent about 35 minutes and left. No explanation, no comments. I complained that we had high bills in summer and asked him what can be done to improve the efficiency of our relatively new system. I received an e-mail a week later with an estimate to replace everything - two units, furnace and ducts - close to $13000.00. I politely noted, that I would like to make use of the existing equipment and never heard from these people again. We'll, granted, I called them in for preventive mantanence, but didn't they want repeat business? Anyway, I'll never call them again.

Description of Work: I'm not sure whether this review is fair. Here's what happened with my service. I booked Sun for a routine check up prior to starting up the AC for the anticipated long summer. I used one of their specials and got a good deal for a check-up. They came in March, but we could not complete the AC checkup because it was too cool to test the AC. The AC technician fooled around a bit with the system but then said he would have to come back another time once it got hot enough to test the system. A few weeks later, when it got hotter, my AC wasn't working properly. I had Sun come back and the technician tells me that all of the freon had leaked away and pointed to leaking valve in the attic right next to the controller box. Apparently, it just needed a little tightening and it was good. It cost me $550 to get the freon replaced because freon is expensive. Maybe this was a coincidence and Sun is not at fault but as far as I know, my AC was working fine up until the first visit by Sun. Nevertheless, I am suspicious and will probably use another provider next time.

Description of Work: I bought one coupon forgetting that I had two a/c units. The regular service was $79 and the coupon was for $69. The lady who called me to schedule said I'd need to buy another coupon for the other unit, though if I had paid regular price the 2nd unit would only be $60 (Doesn't seem like a savings to me)and she argued that point with me until she finally went to talk to a manager. She then told me for this time only they'd honor the $60 price on the 2nd unit. After that I chose not to wait for their next opening. There's better deals out there with better service.
