They picked the sofa up on August 20, said it would take two weeks, and delivered the sofa on September 4. We provided the material. They scotch guarded the material for us. We were extremely pleased with the results. The work and attention to detail were impeccable.

For our boat cushions, they provided hundreds of samples of marine-grade fabric and covered 17 cushions so they look brand new! In a time when so few companies deliver on their promises, what a pleasure and relief to find this company. Highly recommended!

They did such a great job, I sent out another chair and ottoman to be reupholstered! I highly recommend Garcia Upholstery - friendly and great work at a very reasonable price and in a timely manner.

+ -1 moreThe Garcia team (father & son) did a fantastic job of renewing my dinning room chairs. my husband and I had considered buying a new formal table and chairs after 12years of hard use with growing children. I then joined Angies' list looking for other services, and while on the website decided to look up upholstery. I called them and immediate too all eight chairs in my van to cut back of pick up and delivery charges. I was shown different types of fabrics and prices to choose from. New padding was added as well, and I think I have at least another 12 years of use from my chairs and wonderful dinning table. I do feel like I went shopping for a new set!

Description of Work: I had 6 kitchen chairs recovered. I came with my own fabric swatch, but found a better choice within the samples that Mr. Garcia offered. They were extremely helpful in helping me choose the fabric and answered all of my questions. They suggested a change in the stitching used for the back of the chair, which gave the chair a different look. Everyone that has seen the chairs loves them.I got several bids and theirs was by far the best. I trust their judgment and input. The chairs look beautiful and I'm so glad I decided to re-cover them. I would definitely use them again.

+ 0 moreI had been wanting the work to be done for some time, but only got voice mail that didn't allow me to leave a message when I called the shop. I kept calling and was finally able to get through. It was worth the wait. I carried the chairs to and from his shop and didn't request pickup or delivery. I selected the fabric from a wide selection available in his store. He gave me a firm estimate after we talked about what I wanted done. He requested $100 deposit. He called when they were ready. He did an excellent job and I was very pleased. It is obvious that he takes pride in his work and that's why he's so busy.
Description of Work: Mr. Garcia rebuilt and reupholstered the backs and seats of 6 dining room chairs. He replaced the webbing using sofa strength material so the seats wouldn't sag and replaced the foam padding as well. He also did some minor repair to the backs.

+ -1 moreMy dog had chewed on our patio set so we hired Garcia's. The end result looks great. We had 5-6 cushions and some of them were in pretty bad shape. They looked good as new and he got them finished in a timely manner.

+ -1 moreThe guy did excellent work. I was flabbergasted as the price was around $60 and I think it included the trip charge. I think I gave him $10 extra. He was on time. He was very professional. He got in, he did his work and he got out. He didn't tie me up with any long fishing stories or anything like that. He just did his work and he was very polite. I would use him again in the future.
Description of Work: I used the services of Garcia's Upholstery probably 6 months ago. He came to the house to sew up a part of a leather couch that had split.

+ 0 moreI called Ramon Garcia several times, made appointments for him to pick up a chair to repair. He never showed. His advertisement states that he will pick up furniture for repair or upholstery. For the last week I have called and there is no answer.
Description of Work: There were no services performed becaus Mr. Garcia failed to show at several appointments I had made for him to collect the chair for repair.

+ 0 moreI took the chair in for an estimate and they said 100-150.00. I was going to get the fabric myself, he measured and told me how much I needed. I took the chair back with the fabric and they did a wonderful job. I had gotten some braid for the edges and when we draped the fabric and my braid it did not look right against the wood. He went in the back and came out with another color and it was perfect. I asked how much for the braid and he said no charge. This is the second time I have had this chair done and I was so happy he used the fabric for the bottom (as it shows) instead of that bleck stuff. I was completely happy with the work.

We provided the material and labor/pick up and delivery was the total cost. The Garcia family are awesome and do beautiful work. Prices are very competitive in the retail market.
Description of Work: The Garcia family are an upstanding upholstery company. I recently had 2 club chairs and matching ottoman stools recovered. The chairs were redone with our linen look material which we provided. The time was approximately 3 weeks to have them recovered and returned. I am extremely please with the chairs and matching ottomans. I would highly recommend Ramon and Raul Garcia as a highly dedicated, hardworking team. Pick up and delivery is included in the cost of the re-upholstery. The only concern I had was contacting them by phone was difficult due to circumstances out of their control with the phone lines at their work location being out of order due to a lightening strike. Thanks Angie list for giving me Raul's cell phone number to contact him as an alternative number. I was getting concerned when I was unable to contact anyone at the business phone number.

+ -1 moreGarcia's is excellent. I am very pleased with the service. My chair looks perfect. Absolutely beautiful. I supplied the material and he did an excellent job. I am going to have him back again to refinish some hardwood furniture. He picks up the furniture and delivers for free. Not many do that. He may work it into the cost but you know everything up front. There is no "It will be $100 for me to pick it up" stuff. He asks how you want the edges and pays great attention to detail. He holds to his word. He told me 2 weeks and it was exactly 2 weeks. He does very good quality work and I am very pleased.
Description of Work: Garcia's Upholstery removed the upholstery, checked all the stuffing and reupholstered a chair and 4 large pillows for me.

+ -1 moreThe cost was $25.00 per chair. The owner took them in and he was very helpful. I brought my own fabric. It was a flat fold and not on a roll. He told me that it was not an issue. There was a flaw in the flat fold so I told him to make sure to see and not put the flaw on the chairs. He did not replenish the padding because there was nothing wrong with that. The chairs turned out beautiful. I was very pleased with the price and I was pleased with the work. The turnaround time on the chairs was good. He was punctual. He was good.

+ -1 moreon 5/28, due to their ad in the April 2009 Angie's List issue, I contacted Garcia's Upholstery to repair and refinish my mom's small china cabinet, purchased in the 1950's. Currently, Garcia's is not in the business of repairing and refinishing furniture. The man I spoke with said he'd contact me when they were "back in business" indicating that it would be approx. a month before that happened, due to some recent equipment failure. Previous to my 5/28 phone conversation with Garcia's, I spoke with them on 5/27. No mention was made of the fact that it would be approx. a month before they began repairing and refinishing furniture, again. I had to lease a truck and travel out of state to collect Mom's china cabinet. If anyone knows of a better company, I'd like the name. Thank you.

I wanted a certain color and I think he got as close as he could. He gave me the rest of the material that he used when he was finished. I thought he did very well. I was very satisfied. I have used the company a few times in the past.

Description of Work: I called to get an estimate. They told me to send the info. with a picture via email. I sent the info as soon as I hung up the phone. They told me that they'll reply in two days, I never heard back from them.
