Mitch and Damon performed their work in a suitable time considering the blistering temperature in the attic. They replaced 40 feet of rusted out galvanized pipe and joints with flex-pipe. This is an old house built in 1978, so you can imagine the problems. They are a good fit for my experiences.

Outstanding and with little mess. They also recommended a painter to patch the hole. This is the second time I have used them and I will continue. They even take the time to send out the same plumber as the last visit. Very personal service.

Things I didn't do, that I should have done: Always ask for hourly rate or the job cost. Ask how they calculate their charges. Ask them to separate the the cost of parts from the cost of labor on the bill.
Description of Work: My first use of Angie's List was very disappointing. I needed a faucet replaced quickly in our most used bathroom., but it was a test, too, because we have a lot more plumbing repairs coming up. Angie's list sent me a few plumber referrals by email, so I didn't have a chance to access the reviews - big mistake. I called and talked to a couple of plumbers & chose one with A rating on all, including price ('A' must mean expensive). When I called to set up appt, I was told an estimate would cost $65 but if work was done, the charge was dropped. I was able to get an appoIntment when I wanted. I was told I could buy my own faucet or they would bring one. They could not give me any kind of a ballpark figure of the labor cost, or even a range. I should have asked their Hourly Rate. The office personnel referred me to a pricey showroom. I bought a faucet at Lowe's for $60. The day of the appointment, I never received a call confirming the appt. (Communication is important). I called them after lunch (which was the time I'd requested) & she said I was next on the list. I was called about 10 minutes later & told they were on the way. Two plumbers showed up a few minutes later, very neat and well mannered. The bathroom is small and only one plumber was needed. I was told that it would cost $285 and that the hoses needed replacing. I gulped and because of time pressure, ok'd the work to be done. From the time they came to the time they left, it took one plumber one & one half hours...a reasonable amount of time. The bill stated the total amount, but did not break down the labor cost from the cost of the hoses or other parts provided. The plumbers went to extra trouble to clean up and remove an old stain on the sink. I was very impressed with the plumbers and the quality of their work, but the total cost ($340 with my faucet), the miscommunication with the office and the bill being too general makes me want to look for another plumbing company.

Prior to this service call, I had Doug Turner Plumbing out for a leak in galvanalized pipes. It was late afternoon on Dec. 30, and they managed to work me in so I could deal with this before New Year's holiday. At that time, I opted to just cap the leak, but the technician made sure I knew it was only a temporary fix, and it likely other pipes would fail. Sure enough, 3 months later, I had another leak coming through a light fixture. Doug Turner Plumbing came out promptly and thoroughly examined the overhead pipes in my attic. Turns out I had another leak that hadn't soaked through the ceiling yet. The plumber gave me various options: replace all pipes, replace just the ones currently leaking and one previously capped, or just cap these leaks. I felt certain it was a "not if, but when " for another leak, so I opted to replace all horizontal pipes. They completely the full job in 2 days. I was impressed with how hard they worked and cleaned up after the job was finished! Although Doug Turner Plumbing is higher than others, I completely trust their workmanship and ethics. You get what you pay for.

They charge by the hour. It's kind of high, but they do good work. They have the equipment to do the work and they give us a very honest opinion about what's going on and don't sugarcoat anything. They were very upfront. They told me what they would do and how long it would take. Sometimes people are not trustworthy and they would jack up the prices. I need to get some other work done as well. I got an Angie's List coupon. Any time I need any major plumbing work I would use Doug Turner Plumbing Co. again.

I called at least twice, a week apart, to ask for someone to give me a quote. I spoke with two different, friendly, ladies who took my message and said Doug, or someone, would contact me. I never got a call back. If they did call me, and I did not answer, the phone, they never left a message. I called them because of their positive reviews on Angie's list.

We had a ruptured water line where the water comes into the house on approximately this date. My husband had dug it up and attempted to repair it, but was lacking a tool he needed to solder the repair. I found this company on Angie's List; they advertise emergency repairs any time of day or night, 365 days a year. And they had great reviews here. I called and talked to a woman who said she would call and have a repairman get right back to us. Two hours later we called again and she said once again that someone would call us right back. By now it was getting pretty late, and finally my husband called a third time, and was put in touch with an actual repairman, who said they were busy and couldn't get to us until the following Tuesday, several days later! I understand that too busy is too busy, and with all the waterline breaks from the drought in Houston all the plumbers are super busy. But still, one of the things their website emphasizes is emergency repair, and I think over two hours of waiting and three phone calls was very poor service. We wouldn't consider trying them again.

I don't remember how much they charged us. They performed the work I hired them to do. I got their name from the city. The city person had come out to determine where the leak was. They recommended Doug Turner Plumbing. I didn't even take the time to get a lot of bids. I had to get the work done quickly because it was an incoming line into the house. They did the job promptly and correctly. It is 3 years and I haven't had another leak so they must have done something right. The overall experience was excellent. I had no problems at all. I have no idea how to judge the price because I didn't get any other bids. They were very responsive. They were professional.

He was very prompt. Unfortunately, because of the amount of work he was here until after 9 pm and I felt he was a bit rushed towards the end. He ended up having to return because of a continued leak in the shower and in the Master Bath toilet but did not charge for the return visit. Very pleasant and professional.

First of all, I told his receptionist on Monday that I had water running from my ceiling. She didn't seem too concerned. She told me that someone would be out in a couple of days. Meanwhile the leak got worse. The serviceman did come on Wednesday. I showed him the water running from my ceiling, so he went upstairs and looked at my air conditioner,. He came back down and told me that he couldn't help me because I didn't have a plumbing problem; I had an air conditioning problem. He offerred no advice on what I might do to rectify the problem, but asked me for $62.00 and quickly left. It really would have helped had he just told me to turn off the unit which is what the repairman told me over the phone when I called the AC company.

They are wonderful. They just give you personal service. Many times Doug Turner himself has done work for me. If you call his office and request to talk to him, he will talk to you. It is not a big corporate office, it is very personal. I have been using them for a long time and I wouldn?t use anybody else. My parents and brother also use him. They are honest and they know what they are doing. They are easy to talk to and they are good about explaining things to you and giving you options. I would recommend them highly. Their price is comparable to everybody else.

Contacted Doug Turner on a Wednesday or Thursday, and they were to have sent someone on a Friday to fix our shower, which had a trickling leak on the hot water side. It was not an emergency, but we wanted it fixed soon, as it was wasting about 25-30 gallons of hot water a day. They weren't available to come until the following Monday, so my wife was available when they said they would come, "after 2:30 pm". At 4:30 pm, she received a call saying that they wouldn't be coming that day, and would have to reschedule for the next day (Tuesday). They did come Tuesday when they said that they would. We originally wanted the shower repaired and some other minor plumbing work. Another shower needed a part, a valve stop, so that the handle would not move past the "off" position and I also hoped to have an outside faucet replaced that also had a leak. The total plumbing estimate was almost $700, and the breakdown included $168 just for replacing the outside faucet. I know that the faucet itself is about a $15-20 item at the most, and I just couldn't see how they could justify charging almost $140 for a 5 minute repair. I only had them fix the leaking shower, and the cost came to about $156, rather than the $250 that they first quoted. The repair was done well, and took about an hour. The plumber was professional and cleaned up well after himself. **UPDATE** The shower valve repair done 4 months ago has failed, and the hot water valve is now leaking again like it was before the repair. Unfortunately, Doug Turner has a 3 month warranty on parts and labor, so we will have to pay again to have this problem fixed. Another reason I won't be using Doug Turner Plumbing again!

I have even been given advice on how to perform some simple plumbing tasks myself. I highly recommend using them and know that I will again.
