Went great. He showed up on time, is experienced, and did a great repair job. He had to rebuild the area where it blew out and he did it in such a way that it should be stronger now. He also gave us good advice about our system. Would hire again for a repair and will be calling him for our seasonal tune up.
Description of Work: A major valve unit blew. He replaced the valve and adjoining pipes

David, the owner and worker, of this company advertised his service in our neighborhood by putting business cards on the mailboxes in our subdivision. We called and scheduled an appointment to have David come look at the job. He arrived and said that he did not give estimates but was prepared to do the work. He said that he kept his truck stocked with all the parts necessary. At that time, he also informed me that he forgot to mention that he charged half an hours wages for travel. His wage is $80/hr. We discussed what I wanted done and looked at the system together- both the control box and the sprinkler heads. We have several elevated sprinklers in our yard like the one I was requesting that he install. David got to work. In about 30 minutes he came and told be the work was complete. What a joke. Instead of replacing the sprinkler head that needed to be elevated with appropriate hardware, he mounted the current popup underground sprinkler on a flimsy piece of pipe. When I questioned the work, he said "a lot of people would have thought that was okay." I, again, showed him the sprinkler that we wanted. He then confessed he didn't have the parts for that job. But if I wanted to pay him additional for his time, he would travel around and see if he could find the parts somewhere. I thanked him for his service and asked him to leave. He stated that I "didn't seem pleased." I told him I wasn't. The work was not quality work. We would have someone else come fix the problem. He insisted on "making it right." He moved the flimsy elevated head to a corner where it would not be blown by the wind and relocated the current sprinkler to the alternate locations. He said that he would be by at the first of the following week to complete the job. I gave him a check for 148.75. He asked for an additional 16.00 for parts. I paid him. David did not show the following week. He did call 2 weeks later and said that he would come by at the end of the week. I told him that would be fine, I would likely be at work, but he could get to the sprinkler without any issues. He agreed. Again, David did not show. Instead, he left me a voicemail stating that he didn't first realize he needed garage access to install the part on the sprinkler head. The salesman who sold him the part had just told him that. I called David back again. I had to work during the hours that he said he could be here that week. He apparently doesn't work before 10am or after 4pm. He also doesn't work on Saturdays. He let me know at that time that this job was "kinda far for him anyway." He "wasn't gonna drive all the way over here for that little bit of work." We scheduled Monday August 9th at 10am for the repair. At 9:48am David left me a message saying that he was going to be late. I called him back and asked when I might expect him. He said 10:30am. I informed him that would be fine, but if it was much later I would have to reschedule, I had appointments later in the morning. David then said "just forget it, I'm not coming." and hung up on me. I tried to call him back several times. He would answer the phone and then immediately hang it up. Stay away from this guy. He does shoddy quick fixes, but quality work is not a part of his service. Don't be fooled by the icthus on his business card. It is marketing ploy and not a trademark of his professional style.
Description of Work: We requested that 2 sprinklers be elevated in our system
