We hired Impact Construction & Steel of Springtown, Texas, 3194 E. Hwy 199 phone 817-677-2700, cell phone 817-703-3632 and owned by Richard Parker and Andrea Parker and who reside at 103 Sunny Brook Court, Springtown, TX, in November 2013 to build a warehouse and RV carport for us beside our existing office in Granbury, Texas. Impact Construction & Steel job performance was substandard from the start. Richard Parker and Andrea Parker began with setting the forms and pouring the concrete, the lack of proper oversight and inspection resulted in almost one third of the steel plates that were set in the concrete in order to allow for welding of the structural steel, to be set incorrectly due to improper measurements being taken. Richard Parker also tried to decrease the size of the entrance drive that was established in the plans in order to save money. Overhead door entrances were measured incorrectly which then caused Impact Construction & Steel to chisel out concrete instead of jack hammering out the incorrect concrete pour to try to make doorways work. Impact Construction & Steel also created door entrances that were for the incorrect types of doors. Overall the concrete work was very substandard. The poor concrete work was only the tip of the iceberg of problems that then ensued. The structural framing was very poor and required me to point our multiple issues daily in order to try and prevent an unsafe and or unusable building. Impact Construction & Steel was required to completely reinstall the roof framing due to their attempt to try and lower one section of the roof to 12ft instead of the 14ft height as called for in the plans. This error, which we believe was intentional to save them money and time created a huge problem with the roof which is now out of square and cannot have metal sheeting installed until it is repaired. The welding was not completed as agreed and most of the welds are tack welds with much of the support purlin held in place by screws. At present the building is not complete as we are trying to find another company who can rebuild the framing in order get the building square enough to allow for the metal sheeting to be installed. And, we now have vendors who did work on the project that have not been paid by Impact Construction & Steel who are calling us and coming by our office looking for payment. I will have a website within a day or so with photos and additional information that will show how inferior the quality of work that we have received from Richard Parker and Andrea Parker who own Impact Construction & Steel of Springtown Texas, the website is www.impactconstructionandsteel.net I think Richard Parker is from Louisiana. You may contact me at anytime for additional information relating to our experience with this company. Steve Haines, 254-631-7730 or steve@sales-r-up.com

I would not hire Impact Construction & Steel again. I hired this company to build a 36 x 60 building and roof my house and add a patio addition. The building took more than a year and the only reason it was completed was because the City threatened them with theft of services. The insulation is falling off the ceiling and they refuse to fix it. The roof was so amateurishly done that they put the valleys on top of the roofing rather than underneath it. The Patio addition was done without permit and in violation of building code. They lied to the building inspector as to the construction material and attempted to defraud me by installing post that only gave the appearance of being properly installed. When the building inspector was shown that they put the anchor plates on the post but did not attach them to the ground he made them remove the fascia pieces and discovered it had been built with 3 x 6s and not the required 2 x 12s. They were made to replace the 2 x 6s but left the fascia and trim work misaligned and uncompleted. They damaged by sprinkler system and have not fixed it done more than $6,000 damage to my drive way and came out with a bag of asphalt dropped it on the drive and considered it fixed. I foolishly did not heed the reviews and BBB Complaints because he had done work for my family before. Do not make the same mistake I did, these are not professionals by any stretch of the imagination. The owner talks a good game but his work will cost you more to repair than you saved by hiring him.

Response from Impact Construction and Steel
The member is trying to file complaints against us. When one company, ie the BBB, does not side with him, he goes to someone else. When the truth of the matter is, if he had not hidden information from us to stop construction, issued by Oncor Electric, we would not have had all the setbacks that were incurred. We have completed the construction for the member, and have received a green tag from the City of Willow Park inspector, Jason Penninger for completion of work. The member has an outstanding balance with our company and always has a reason for not paying his bill. Despite our best efforts and countless man hours, we do not feel that the member will ever be satisfied.

Hired them in November, to build 2500 sqft house they started in Dec. poured slab completed framing in Jan. In Feb started the roof and put up walls with insulation (all started before roof complete) . They told us all the doors and cabs plumbing, fixtures etc was all on order. They collected 25000 and started building the fence, (never saw the materials they claimed they bought either). They put in about 1/4 of the posts and quit. They Ruined the stained/scored concrete floors when they scored the concrete freehand. The Metal roof was done incorrectly has to be completly replaced. We then found out that they were not paying their subs (electric/plumber/cabinet maker/stone man etc the money they said they did. They quit work in Feb when we would not give them any more money till jobs were either complete or we saw materials being delivered Fired them in April via an attorney.

We were honored to have the opportunity to build the Members' new home. We made every effort to build the house to their specifications. However, they frequently changed their minds and made requests that were against our best judgment. Once they stopped payment on a check to us, we ceased work. However, the project only lacked minor details before completion. We have many positive references that we will gladly provide upon request.
