Selph Made Wooden Privacy Fences

Work crew arrived on the expected day and time. Finished in 1 day. (sooner that expected). They worked quickly, were through, and left a clean yard. Their effeciency made it evident they were a team & had worked together over a period of time. You might find a lower price, however it will be difficult to find better workmanship, and a better completed project. Excellent quality and workmanship. Mr. Selph was great to work with and responded quickly to all inquiries. The fence got compliments from the neighbors and the project was completed in a day.

Superbly well - as promised, materials were delivered and utility lines located the day prior to installation. On installation day, a very experienced three-man crew arrived in the morning and set to work immediately. The old fence was down, the new Western Red Cedar fence was erected, the site was cleaned up (including taking away the old fence), and the crew was gone by 4:00 pm. The posts were set in fast-set cement and the rails were mounted with galvanized brackets. As my fiancée said to me while looking at the finished product, "That fence is beautiful. We should have done this years ago!"

The project went very well. Everything went according to schedule and was completed in 2 days. They installed 6" beveled rot board and 6' western red cedar pickets with one arched gate. 4 x 4's were all set in fast drying cement and galvanized brkts were used to attach 3 rail 2x4's. They called 811 to have utilities marked and hauled off all the old fencing and debris. very satisfied with the job.

Tony is always GREAT to work with , and his crews do top quality work and use quality materials . I would highly recommend him to any and all of my friends!!

I called because I needed a section of my fence repaired. The owner told me my job was "too small" for him. He was quite rude.

This company quoted 21.60 a linear foot, yet when they called the next day they said it was 28 a linear foot and was borderline rude on the phone and would not honor their quote. I just refuse to pay money to someone that doesn't know how to treat a customer willing to spend their hard earned money for a service.

Selph Made Fences replaced my 8 ft. fence and did an excellent job. Tony communicated throughout the process and everything went just as promised. The crew was very efficient and left everything spotless. They were very conscientious and respectful. Tony only uses top quality products and builds fences the right way. I have no doubt this fence will last a long time. Great job!

They did a great job. The quality of the fence was good. The only challenge we had was with the gates. We have very large gates and I don't think their workers are very experienced with making large gates, but other than that, the fence was great. They were on time and gave me a veteran discount so I thought the price was fair as well.

I would never have guessed that I would say we have a beautiful fence - but we do. It's well built, the guys were great to work with and we had no issues.

EXTREMELY PLEASED, I can not fathom anyone not being very pleased with a job this company does for them.

The job was done well and we are happy with the fence. My only issue is that the company advertised a $50 Home Depot coupon in Angie's List Magazine in exchange for hiring Selph Made Fences for jobs above a certain dollar amount. Our job qualified, but Mr. Selph refused to give the coupon or to otherwise make it right. He said the ad shouldn't have been running any more, and he claimed that our quoted price already had a built-in (though unadvertised) discount. He also said that if we wanted, he could raise our price by $50 and then give us a $50 coupon. That was an insulting and unprofessional way to handle the situation. The correct way to handle it would have been to say "We made a mistake. That ad shouldn't still be running in Angie's List, but since it is there now I will honor the promise and will give you the coupon (or a $50 discount)." If Mr. Selph had done that, I would be singing his praises and pointing him out as an outstanding example of both high integrity and good craftsmanship. Instead, I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth. I can recommend the work product, but not the man. You'll be all right unless an issue comes up. In that case, good luck.

These guys were not reluctant to do what is considered a "Small" job by most contractors. Their work was flawless and we are very pleased.

When the job was started, it was finished within one day. Request to over a tree resident around it were accommodated in the job was well done.

He/his crew installed the fence OK. The follow-up to fix the broken gate lock and gate itself was very poor i.e. no repose at all after repeated phone calls

Still waiting to give them the go ahead.

On my overall experience, I think they were pretty responsive but I don't really remember. I didn't use them.

Flawless. I did all of my correspondence with Tony via phone and email which worked perfectly for me. He was prompt, thoroughly answered my questions and kept me in the loop. He was patient as I had a long wait getting approval from my HOA.

First of all Selph were the highest quote out of 3. I decided on using them as they seemed at the time of quote that they provided A1 service. I normally choose the middle quote. Problems with installation: Scan tags left on bottom of pickets, which could of easily been taken off prior to installation instead of customer having to remove prior to staining. Gate crossmembers installed crooked and not level with fence cross members, pickets cut crooked at bottom at the entire length of breezeway. If replacing a gate latch your stuck with what they provide no choice. When asked to rectify our problems I was told the gates were fine as they were and the only thing they would rectify would be to trim the bottom of the pickets on the gate only, although the entire length of pickets in the breezeway are cut crooked. My neighbors gate is now completely crooked/warped since installation. This is what happens when an installation goes into a Friday evening. We now have to take care of things ourselves because there is no satisfaction with rectifying any problems even though it was negligence on their behalf.

The quality was top notch. Even our inspectors commented on the quality of the work (inspections required in our subdivision). Being an outdoor job it was also subject to the vagaries of the weather. We had some rain mix in with the schedule, but Tony always kept us current on what was happening, and any changes in timing. Overall, a job well done, and in a timely manner.

Overall it was very good. They were right on time for the initial meeting to measure and determine what was needed. They quickly got back with an estimate; the materials were delivered on the day stated, and the work was done in one day as promised. The only blemish was when the work crew was ready to leave they hadn't finished cleaning up the wood chips and sawdust off our driveway. They had to borrow my yard blower to do that. I would still use this company without hesitation. The fence looks great.

I would caution you to lower your expectations regarding commitments to dates when dealing with this company. On April 5, 2017, I arranged for Selph Made Fences to replace my existing privacy fence. I was told I would have to wait over a month for the work to be completed which I gladly accepted the tentative May 9th date. I gave them a deposit for half the total amount, around $2000. On April 30th I received a text message indicating the install date to be May 11th and made arrangements for dog to be away from the house. I also contacted my neighbors who share the fence and they also had to make arrangements for their pets as well. On May 8th I received an email indicating the date had been moved to the 15th. I was very frustrated at this point, so I contact Tony Selph and told him to cancel the job and for him to refund my deposit ASAP; he said it would take several days to process. I made contact again via text on 5/11/17 to ask when I should receive the refund for my deposit. It is Friday afternoon 5/12/17 and I have not received a response.
