They were here when they said they would be and the work crew did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. They worked quickly and efficiently, putting up about 400' of cedar fencing in 2 1/2 days. We would definitely use them again when we need future fencing work.

I was contacted last week on Friday and was scheduled for Al Selph to come out and give an estimate on Monday. I decided to go with another fence company because I was not happy with the customer service during the estimate. Al didn't wear a mask and that didn't send a good message to me. In my opinion, it appeared that he didn't care about the safety of myself as a customer by not wearing a mask and shaking my hand. I went along with it because I did not want to be rude. Also, during the estimate process, he was pushy and too aggressive and shouted out to me "why are you walking away, does my breath stink or something". I think that was very unprofessional. We should have always maintained a 6-foot distance and he should have worn a mask and should not have shaken my hand, putting me at a health risk. We are still in a pandemic and people are still dying. Also, I believe the estimate was too high for the size of my yard. He stated that lumber prices are high and I research and I do not believe that to be true. The estimate was $6,000,00 for a basic wooden fence and according to Angie's list, that price is on the exceedingly high end and not the average cost for a fence replacement.

The whole team at Selph Made was great from the start. They came out to look at our project and gave a quote right there. We were having issues finding someone to complete the project we needed so we were glad to find someone willing to take on the project and provide a very reasonable and fair cost. The team that came out to do the work were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They did a fantastic job and cleaned up after the work was complete. We are VERY pleased with how the fence turned out and will be reaching out to Selph Made in the future for fence needs.

Mr Selph responded on Thursday within 24 hrs of my request for a bid. I really liked what he had to say, it was obvious that he takes pride in his work and has high standards. Agreed to a Monday a.m. visit for estimate. Then the conversation went downhill. I reminded him that Monday is Labor Day and he said no problem. I laughed and said that this has been an unusual year. His response was that it would all be ok in November. I asked what he meant and he went on about how the unnecessary COVID hype re masks, etc. would stop once the prez was reelected, etc. I was shocked - I don't think politics and religion should be part of my business transactions. When he stopped for breath, I told him that I didn't think we could do business. He said he figured that out and hung up on me. My take away was that if he was felt that strongly about the prez and then saw that my politics are different, I might not get the full quality product and pricing from him. Was very disappointed as I want to support locally owned businesses - especially when they are veteran-owned.

The crew did a great job replacing my very old fence with a new one. I would recommend Self Made Fencing company to anyone needing a wooden fence. It was amazing to watch them work non-stop until the job was completed.
