I would like to give Aaron a good review. He is trying but he lacks business and financial management skills. He did a good job of helping us pick out tile and granite. He came up with great ideas on the design/placement. Aaron told us 3 weeks at most to complete the job. He started the job 10/5/2015 and we ended his attempts to complete the job on November 27, 2015. Unfortunately, he hired a buddy from Baytown area, a couple named Joel Deville, to do the tile and the Joel convinced Aaron to pay him for his part of the job when the tile was not even half complete and the buddy never showed up again. So, Aaron finished the tile job. He did great with design but not so good with laying it level and the grout is not all the same color. Grout is also missing in some spots. My husband and I spent two days (10+ hours) scraping the excess grout off the tile. We didn't intend to do any work on the project. My husband cut out the new tub access and built the access panel for that. My husband made a wood window sill that originally was going to be granite. We did not get crown molding. Aaron is not a good dry wall guy or any good at painting. I will say he has some integrity. He kept coming back after he knew he wasn't going to get any more money from us. We quit paying him and started going out and buying the materials he needed to do the work. Basically, he used the funds we gave him to cover other customer problems so he didn't have money to purchase items for our job. I was beginning to call him son. I felt like we were trying to help out a family member. We found Aaron through http://www.homeadvisor.com as Aaron Ashworth Construction. We knew we were taking a risk with Aaron based on his lack of references and the bad comments we found online but he worked hard to get the job. And, one of the references he gave us was honest with us about Aaron's tendency to get in over his head. One of the other's that showed up from Home Advisor never got back to us with a bid. And the third one was going to bid far above what Aaron or the other contractor had verbally stated. So far, we have paid over $1,000 to repair Aaron's poor sheetrock job, repaint the entire bathroom, and install the crown molding. We are now looking for someone to tear out all of the floor tile and the tile around the tub and replace it. Did I mention the tile does not go all the way to the closet carpet? Whoever fixes the floor tile will also take care of filling in missing and inconsistently colored grout in the shower and fix the shower door entrance tile so to prevent water leaking out. All of that will cost another $2,000 at least. We also replacing carpet sooner than intended in our dining/living room due to Aaron not plugging a drain. It was left unplugged for a week before we noticed the water in the dining room which also ruined the baseboard in one corner. We will be pulling up carpet in a closet that also received some water damage. We renewed our membership to Angie's List after this fiasco and will never use Home Advisor again. Fortunately, we are laughing more than anything. We realize we took a risk and we lost. :) We should have cut our loss sooner but I kept thinking he would pull it off if we waited. I will say, Aaron is not a bad person out to take money and run. He is just a poor business and money manager.
