It went very well.
Description of Work: We are buying a new house and used them to do our home inspection. They are wonderful people to work with and came all the way down to Lake Jackson, Texas. They also fit us into their busy schedule. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a home inspection.

Very pleasent professionals.
Description of Work: They checked the roof for leaks and the condition of the roof. They took air samples inside the home for mold. They provided us with a great deal of information about mold and about their job.

Description of Work: Fernando and Wendy did a fine job. they had concerns about the house I was buying, and coached me through what I would need to say to the builder to ensure I got my questions answered. 2 days later he followed up with me to make sure I was satisfied. they are on the supra system which makes it very easy to work with them. I would work with them again. I thought they were pricey until I got higher estimates from other companies.

Excellent.
Description of Work: A contractor accidentally broke a fire sprinkler system pipe in the attic of the condominium my mother and I had just purchased, resulting in wet insulation in the attic, and water damage to the walls and ceiling of the bathroom. (The condo management had hired the contractor.) This happened two days before my mother was to move in. We could not cancel the move because my mother had to be out of her old apartment on the moving day. So, the repairs could not be completed before she moved in. Fortunately, the bathroom was still usable. Before purchasing the condo, I had hired PHI to inspect it. (I already wrote a review about PHI based on that inspection.) It was the third inspection PHI had completed for me. The delay in starting the repair work gave me time to think about the work. I know next to nothing about construction, but I knew that Fernando has a lot of experience, so I called to tell him what happened and to ask him to take a look at the damage and give me his opinion of what needed to be done. I just expected Fernando to give me an informal explanation of what should be done. He ended up taking photos and writing a detailed report of what needed to be done. Fernando and Elissa took two air samples for mold analysis. According to the mold analysis report, there was not an elevated mold level. However, since not all the wet insulation (blown-in type in the attic) had been removed with 48 hours, Elissa advised that the work be completed according to a mold remediation protocol to prevent mold contamination. Initially, the management said they would take care of repairing the damage. They planned to have the same contractor who broke the pipe do the repair work. However, after the manager read Fernando’s detailed inspection report and Elissa’s very detailed remediation protocol, the manager sent me an email clearly stating the contractor was responsible for the damage. The contractor had not planned on following a mold remediation protocol. He was basically going to treat it like an ordinary remodeling job. Essentially, the workers would have just pulled everything out (sheetrock, insulation, etc.) and carted it through the condo. If I had not called PHI, I would not have been aware that the work needed to be done according to a special protocol (including setting up a “containment barrier”) in order to protect the A/C system and the rest of the condo from contamination. After learning about that, I decided to have a company experienced with mold remediation do the work.
