All went as expected....

I have used him before for more extensive work and he has never disappointed me! He shows up on time, does the work agreed on, is neat and cleans up after the job. Totally professional and has a nice personality. I cannot say enough good things about him! If I need that type of work in the future, he is the ONLY one I will call!

The work was done in one day. He came in and described what he would be doing. Very professional and the work was high quality. He was by far the best price.

We originally were going to remove the wallpaper in the bathrooms ourselves, but after having little success with the adhesive backing we decided to call in a professional. Rick came out and confirmed with us that we did need to remove the adhesive backing before repairing/floating the drywall for texture and paint or it would bubble up over time. He provided us a reasonable quote to complete the work and was able to start the job a week later. On the day that he started, I was able to stay home and check in with him a few times throughout the day. He commented on how difficult this particular wallpaper was to remove, but never gave any indication that we should rethink the approach or work a new plan. At the end of the day, after Rick left, I checked out how much progress he had made. I found that he had removed some of the adhesive backing, but he was also starting to float areas that still had the drywall adhesive and bubbling was already occurring. I called him to discuss why he was not completing the work as quoted, and he again commented on how the adhesive backing was not coming off well. He said that he determined that the adhesive was ok to float over and that he would cut out the areas that were bubbling and repair them. I had few issues with this response. 1) I had been home all day and he could have brought this issue to my attention prior to going forward. 2) He had removed scope from the quoted scope of work without discussion on how the quote should be adjusted. 3) His decision to float over the adhesive backing was a complete reversal to what he said was required to complete the job correctly when he came out to quote the job. We decided to terminate this work with Rick. We probably could have continued this job together if the issue had been brought to my intention instead of being discovered after he left. I did not feel that I could trust him to complete the work as quoted.

Rick did an excellent job as usual. I had hired him to wallpaper and paint by bathroom previously.

I purchased a repossessed house in February with out having sold my first house (I don't recommend this). My first home is a 5- 1/2 hour drive away. That makes it a difficult project. I have been handling all of the remodeling by long distance. That is no mean feat! Because there was much to be done to make the new house livable, and because I was saddled with my old property, I have been an absent homeowner. All my projects have been done long distance. It has been a nightmare EXCEPT for the Paper Tiger! I first contacted Richard in the late winter early spring of this year. My new home had a few cosmetic challenges. (I am being kind). I had him touch up and complete some of my own painting. I am told that I am very good at painting, but at nearly 70 years old and dealing with ten and twelve foot ceilings, I got smart and decided it was time to call in a REAL painter for the trickier parts of the painting & papering. I was taken with the name "Paper Tiger" because I had hung wallpaper professionally for 12 years in the 70' and 80's. I went by the name "The Paper Doll". We had a grand time exchanging "war stories" about nightmare jobs and quirky customers that we had encountered down through the ages. I chose well. He worked under the pressure of knowing that I knew more about wallpapering than the average customer and I would be very critical. He has surpassed all my expectations with flying colors! He has been punctual, responded to my calls almost instantly and has been completely dependable. He is courteous, efficient and neat. If I hadn't written him a check I would never have known he had been in my home. That is so much more than I can say about some others I have been dealing with during my remodeling adventure. I would recommend him to everyone and not hesitate to use him again. In fact, I plan to start another project soon and it will require his special touch. I used to be able to do so many things myself and having to hire a paperhanger to do a job I used to be perfectly capable of handling is a blow to my ego and self proclaimed professional abilities. In short, it has been worth every (very reasonable) penny!

He did some repairs some wallpaper work. Cleaned up painting and got him to come back out and do more repairs. He is going to be excellent. Very responsive. Gives a very fair price. He also does professional work and leaves no mess.

Rick came over the day I called him and gave me an estimate to prepare and wallpaper my bathroom. Then he came over on the day we agreed on and installed the wallpaper. When I came home that night, I was delighted with the change this made in my bathroom. I called Rick and got an additional estimate to paint the bathroom. Again Rick did a great job! Everyone who has seen it has been impressed with my new wallcovering that looks just like beadboard but at price that was considerably less! I would definitely recommend Paper Tiger Painting and Wallpapering to anyone!

Was professional. Showed up on time, did the job and cleaned up. No negative comments.

He got here at the time that we set, every day that he came out. He did great work taking the old paper off and putting the new paper up. He cleaned up the mess every day and left everything looking great.

Rick was the name of the person who did the job for me. He first came in and gave an estimate. There was water damage on the wall. So he had to prep the wall thoroughly before he started the work. He removed the old wall paper and put in new ones. He took 3 days to complete the job instead of 2, and he apologized for that. He also does painting as well. I was very pleased with his work and the end result.
