Awesome! I had great help with design and picking out materials. It was painless and relatively quick. Our master bath needed a total redo as it hadn't been done in over 30 years. The price they quoted was very similar to the final cost (a little more due to some fixes that had to be done and my picking slightly more expensive materials). They do use subcontractors for a lot of the work, but Mr. Howton was on-site on a very regular basis and did a good portion of the work too. All of the subcontractors were professional and did excellent jobs. They left everything spotless everyday! So considerate to the trauma that a 3-week renovation brings to the people living through it. I would recommend them to everyone. They are honest, reliable, timely and friendly. My master bath is so beautiful, I can't believe its mine!

They made a review of work needed to replace wood around a triple window area and to remove wood around a door which someone else had installed improperly. The work was done in a timely manner, all wood replaced, door trim replaced. All new wood was replaced with Hardy Board, and all new Hardy Board painted to match trim color on house. A very professional job well done in a timely manner.

The Howton team was exceptionally perfessional. They began and ended the project as promised, worked within our budget, cleaned up daily, and paid great attention to detail. They really wanted to ensure we were happy with the final project. I appreciated there help in picking out tile, granite and carpet.

Super. Darren has a solid crew, they've been with him for a long time and it shows. They keep the area clean as they work, minimize disruptions, and do really quality work. The quality of my deck is head and shoulders better than the old decking it replaced. Will use again, to be sure.

All work was professionally done on time and for the price we agreed upon. The workers repaired the roof first, then they came out and fixed the water damage. They covered up all the items in the garage and finished when they said they would finish. I would definitely recommend them again.

This is the third time we have used Howton Construction over the last 30 years because of their quality work. They painted the trim, garage door and covered patio of our one-story brick home, refinished the inside and outside of our front door. Their work included pressure washing the entire exterior including all brick, gutters, sidewalks, driveway and patio. All windows were recaulked as well as any needed areas in the hardiplank. His workmen moved all of my patio furniture and carefully replaced it when the job was complete. Gutters and downspouts were painted as well as the exterior back door. They took great care to cover things like my outdoor ceiling fans and were careful with garden areas. The job took 1-1/2 days. All work areas were cleaned prior to them leaving the job the first day and again at the completion of their work. Howton is very professional and uses only quality materials. His workers have been with him for a long time and know their jobs well. It was obvious they want to make sure their customers are happy. We are very pleased with the end result and would not hesitate to recommend them!

It went very well. We have used Howton Construction for several jobs at our house. They did a home addition, a garage addition, bathroom remodel, full home outdoor repair and paint , and a complete kitchen/den remodel. All of this work as been done completely and professionally. Their work crews have been with them for several years and are true craftsmen. Howton construction has always been timely. Delays which occurred were due to the unexpected issues that you encounter in a 40 year old home remodel. They helped us take a old home in Northampton and turn it into an open and modern home.

They were fantastic. They came on the time they said they would come and did the work they said they were going to do. The price was negotiated to what I felt comfortable with.

We have used them before and they do great work but we want to get a second estimate. They did do the siding on our house. We might use them. They are wonderful people. Marilyn does the design part and he has the crew come in and do the work. They are a great team. I'm not sure what the final price was because my husband was going around after them and he said there were things that we would not need. We want to retire and sell the house so we are trying to update the house. I believe they do good work, they did our roof as well as the siding. We have a lot to do in the house and we need to check costs and we don't want to put a lot of money into it. They did have a list that they went through as they walked through the house. We have a lot to do as we have an older home. We called them on Monday and they were out to look at the house on Tuesday and then brought the estimate over on Friday. They are nice people. When we were getting the siding, they took us around to look at their home and the home of others who had their siding.

Let me start by saying that I managed multiple commercial properties over the years and have seen my share of good, bad, and mediocre contractors. Mr. Howton and his crew are great and their work is quality. Work was performed in a timely manner and very professional. The quality of the paint and texture work as well as the door refinishing exceeded expectations. The deck surface remodeling was not as we initially planned (flat water sealant material as opposed to roofing material). However, Mr. Howton's plan turned out much better than another contractor's plan, looks amazing, and will age well. The front door should have been replaced, but we are frugal. The results were phenomenal. The texture and repaint of the half bath was fantastic. The absolutely ONLY negatives were that we had to follow-up with Mr. Howton about placing the roofing material trim piece on the wrap around porch facing the main street as a continuation of the other half of the deck trim. Also, the trim was not painted and we paid $400 for the half bath repaint and texture. We ended up painting the trim ourself. There was only a little bit of trim. If we would have asked Mr. Howton, there is no doubt he would have taken care of it.

Howton's work ethic and craftsmanship was superb. I would definitely recommend this company for any kind of work and will use them again.

Marilyn Howton came to my home to give us an estimate for the job and she was extremely friendly and personable, and simply a joy to speak with. We received the estimate about 1 week later which was itemized line by line just as my husband requested and was quite reasonable. We accepted the bid and they said they could begin the remodel the next week. The guys performing the work were nice and punctual. Marilyn called me at least once a day to make sure everything was going fine and she came by at the end of everyday to see the progress. Her husband also worked on the initial tear out job before the tile guys and plumber took over the remaining work. It went quite smoothly with only a small hiccup with the tile surround design. I came in to see the progress of the tile installation and the border design was incorrect so I told them they were doing it wrong. They called the head tile man and he came right over. He demonstrated that the border design I wanted would not look quite right because of the size of the tiles. He showed me a couple of different things we could do and he was right. The design I wanted would not accommodate another row of tiles and just didn't look pretty. I chose one of the designs he suggested and the final result was beautiful. The whole remodel job took only 5 days and Marilyn and her husband personally cleaned up after the guys left the last day. She cleaned my counters and mirror picked up all trash and he vacuumed the carpet all the way down the hall leading to the front door. I was surprised and very pleased. The whole experience was a positive one and I would definitely use them again if I need any outside or inside construction done.

They removed good wood off of a top deck that didn’t need to be removed. They were supposed to build a skeleton-like structure on a flat roof and put in rubberized stuff; instead, they put in asbestos. He gave us a bid for doing the 2 porches but he didn’t have to tear down the wood. He did tear out the ceiling of it. He came back and charged me more, which was ridiculous. He built an overhang on the entryway but it was built a foot and a half out; this was alright but he covered it with asbestos felt. It cost $2200, which was outrageous. He charged me $400 to put up lattice work on the top deck which was supposed to be of plastic, which would last long, but he put in wood. He didn’t put any type of cement down to enable these things to hold together. The guttering people that he hired didn’t put in seamless guttering; instead, they hacked up my gutter that was underground, changed its configuration and lifted it up about a foot off the ground. It has about 7 places where the water just spouts out of it. It was supposed to have 4 downspouts but it has only got 2. He has made the biggest mess in my front yard that you’ve ever seen. He did not provide a list of the sub-contractors that he used, and so I can’t contact them to have them come back and do repair work. He put some additional steps on the back porch for which he used my own wood, which wasn’t bad. The porches are now growing molds, and he put things so tightly together that the mold is growing out. He charged me $850 for that but didn’t put in any cement down to anchor the post. He just laid the wood down on the ground. I told him that this would rot out in no time. He covered up my drain system in such a manner that I can’t even get to it. He wanted to charge more to open it up. These boards were put so close together that they are buckling. It is now molding over in the corners because when the water comes off the roof there is no way for the water to go. He stained the wood because he used my own wood, and he wanted to paint all the wood the same color. He didn’t realize what he was doing. He painted the color that he selected, without asking me. It didn’t match anything. The gutter was a dull color and it didn’t go with the other stuff. He never asked questions about anything. My husband asked him to come back and get the nails off the yard and all the debris that he had left behind. He was supposed to put supports under the top railing upstairs because he was putting on some plastic structure; it is now sagging terribly. He cut off pieces of trees that he felt were in the way without asking us. He left the air conditioners in the yard. We spent close to $21000 on the project but I don’t consider the job completely finished. If they come back, they could finish the job, but they just won’t come back. He is not even willing to return the call. I would not use him again.

They did a great job! I mean, they did it like they said they would and did it when they said they would. The owner was there everyday on the job and they did above what we expected.

I have used this company for the past 10 years. I appreciate the fact that the owner is also the job supervisor. He is able to speak English and communicate with his employees exactly what I wanted done. Most of his crews have been with him for many years and at least one persom in the crews speak English well. He has done interior and exterior work for me. In fact I had him do the work to decorate my mother in law's apartment at Edenbrook, assisted living. This time he did two weeks worth of painting and is a Hardie plank specialist. He has painted dark room light with no bleed through. Also, he able to paint dark colors while not blemishing the lighter ceiling or woodwork.
