They inspected my HVAC system. They did a good job. The only problem was that they found an issue in my duct work - which I had been warned about before - but their quote for fixing the problem was higher than the other quote I had heard. In terms of the inspection, though, they were punctual, kept their shoe covers on the whole time they were in my house, and they were very thorough, inspecting even all the vents in the attic.
Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal for 49 dollars for an A/C inspection and tune-up.

A/C went out on a Sunday morning. Called Expo and they showed within 2 hours. Quickly troubleshooted and gave us several options for replacing. After selection, they retrieved the new unit and immediately worked on the installation. House was back in order just about 4 hours later. Could not have asked for better service. Gave clear explanations of what caused the problem and offered a range of options for replacement. All on a Sunday. Pricing was excellent. We could not recommend them more highly.

I knew my air conditioning unit was going bad and called Expo for an estimate. Jubral showed up and gave me an estimate for a 15 seer 4 ton Trane. He did not pressure and said my current unit could last a year, a week or another day, no way to tell but it was straining and pulling too many amps for its size. My air conditioning unit subsequently died about a week later on a Sunday. I already had an estimate for a new unit so I called Jubral to schedule a replacement. He said they were booked but they would bring me a temporary unit to cool my home until they could get to me. He called back some time later and said they would be able to replace my unit the very next day. They showed up, and since they did not have a 15 seer in stock, they brought me a 16 seer unit at no additional cost. They went right to work and replaced the unit inside and out. The unit works great, they cleaned up before they left, and Jubral called back the next day to see how everything went. They also programmed my thermostat and registered my unit. Don't be afraid to use these guys and you won't be disappointed.

It turned out excellent. They were very polite, clean, and didn't tear anything up. They got 2 A/C units in within one day. The price was good and they were $4000-$5000 less than everybody else. It worked out well, and I am really happy. They also brought everything up to code and everything is brand new.
Description of Work: It was a Big Deal for $2,499 for up to a Three-Ton, Trane XB 13, High Efficiency Air Conditioner Including Installation. I also bought inside coils. All the extras included were well worth it.

My experience with Expo Heating & Cooling went very well.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's Big Deal to get both air conditioners services and to get a new contactor and capacitor installed. I paid more than what I initially paid for the price of the Big Deal in order to get more work done, including the servicing of my second air conditioning. I paid about $300.00 more.

The crew called a day ahead of time and then 30 mins ahead of time on the day of service. They were puntual and polite. They were careful and courteous working inside the house showing respect for the house using shoe covers etc. They were thorough with the checks that were made and provided a detailed quotation of what was needed. After the service they came back to check everything was functioning as expected. Payment was convenient and seemed to be good value.

Joe arrived during the window of time he set up yesterday after he informed me the parts had all gotten in. He and his assistant opened up the A/C unit and replaced the squirrel cage. He also added a sensor (free of charge) to indicate if the pan was full, and he did not have to replace the bracket which holds it, so he did not charge for that piece, making it $75.00 cheaper than the quote he was able to give on 7/12. He was quiet, they wore shoe covers, and he also removed a filter from the return and vacuumed up dust which fell from it, when he did not have to remove it or clean up after it. He then tested the system to see if it responded quietly to on-off testing. It was perfect. He then programmed the thermostat for 7 days a week. There were no extra charges for his time for these services. I would use his services forever!

The young man did not rush to diagnose the problems we told him about. He carefully evaluated the problems, then called to see about the model and what he would need to replace some parts. After getting the estimate, he and my husband talked and we agreed to the pricing estimate for the repairs. Hopefully it will be the same young man who comes in to do the repair. His name is Jubran Twal, or Joe. He answered a couple of questions I had and we were very happy with his work. We are now waiting for the parts to get ordered and for them to come back. I would highly recommend Expo for AC system evaluation. Mr. Twal was very polite and professional and friendly - and all this while crawling around in an attic over 100 degrees hot!
Description of Work: We purchased an exam of the AC system, and they looked at the outside unit and the one in the attic, which we were told two years ago that we needed to replace. It has a problem, and the young man diagnosed it and called to check prices for the equipment needed to fix the "squirrel cage" in the interior part of the system.

Technician scheduled appointment and showed up within appointment window. He was courteous, introduced himself, explained what he was going to do, and got to work. After the initial inspection, he recommended a few repairs and items to bring some of the setup up to code. He said he had all the parts with him to do the repairs. He gave two estimates...1 to repair only the items that he felt would breakdown relatively soon and the 2nd included items to bring up to code. He also took me to the units to show me the items that he was recommending be replaced. I went ahead and agreed to all repairs. Technician showed me all new parts he was going to install...opened boxes, took out product, etc. Then after he finished the repairs, he showed me the parts he had taken off the units. The technician seemed knowledgeable and normally I feel like HVAC servicers are shady but I didn't get the impression from this fellow. I'll use him for my next service.

I purchased the $49 HVAC Inspection offer on Angies List from Expo HVAC. Expo had the skills and experience required for an Infinity 21 SER System, which was a major concern as they are complicated systems. What I didn't realize was the $49 for the charge for each outside unit -- so I immediately had a doubling of cost over what I expected since I have 2 units. The cost per unit wasn't spelled out very well in the ad. There was also an additional cost for recharging the 2 units (~$80), which is certainly acceptable as the units were low on refrigerant, Other than the surprise on the cost per unit, it went well and the service technician did a good job.
Description of Work: The units were opened, inspected and checked for refrigerant. The units were cleaned (with a hose).

Expo Heating & Cooling was great. We were impressed. He gave us a couple of options because he was not really sure how long our compressor is going to last. He is not pushy at all. He said that with what he did, it might last a month, a year or over five years. But he was good. We ended up paying more than the big deal purchase because we needed that. We realized it did have some issues. It was fine.

the technician that came to my home was very professional - introduced himself and made sure I knew who he was with and why he was there. He told me exactly the process he was going to use and how long each step would take. I had purchased 2 a/c tune-ups for $49 each (I included in total price). he offered to change the air filters (but I didn't have them) and he cleaned and inspected, pointed out some things that would bring the house up to code, if i wanted. And, showed me the readings both on thermometer and freon pressure meter outside for one unit that was not producing enough cold air - he added freon. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Response from Expo Heating & Cooling Inc
Expo heating & cooling appreciates your business and for choosing to proceed with repairs thru our services. We always aim to go above and beyond for each and every client to ensure satisfaction, as well as great quality work and products. Great effort and thought has gone into our pricing on products, repairs and labor costs. We take pride in offering Houston residence an affordable, and reliable company they can count on to get work done for a great price! We have gone over our records to ensure that you were given the best price possible. When your receipt was reviewed, we looked at these factors to determine whether or not you were given the best price. The technician was on the clock for a total of four hours, plus put in 1.5 pds r22 freon, installed dual run capacitor 80-5, installed new contractor 40-fla, installed hard start kit, installed new digital honey well thermostat, plus 90 warranty on labor and 1 yr warranty on parts for a total bill of 420 dollars. Our calculations show that the technician charged you 50% below comparative fair market cost. We hope this helps and also encourages greater satisfaction in choosing Expo! We thank you so much, and hope to service your cooling needs in the future.

The tech arrived promptly and checked our two outdoor AC units as well as the ducting, etc. in the attic. He reported that a previous AC tech had installed incorrect parts on one of the units that could cause the unit to fail. He also reported that the attic ducting insulation sleeves were not taped, causing significant energy loss. Furthermore, he reported that the drip pans were extremely rusty and should be replaced. We approved the change to the parts on the AC unit and the insulation sleeve taping. We decided to forego the drip pans for now, as we were quoted approximately $250 each to replace them. Our tech came back on the next business day and completed the approved parts/service tasks. We have not experienced any additional problems, and our cooling system does seem a bit more efficient. Our total cost (in addition to the inspection deal we received through Angie's List) was approximately $550.

BEST service EVER! I bought the Angie's List coupon for a $49 air conditioning and $49 heating tune up. I had to rescedule a couple of times, and the office was prompt and nice... so that was a good start. Jubran was our technician and he arrived on time (more plus points), and got straight to work. He then came in an sat and discussed with me the problems he saw in our air conditioning unit and his recommended repairs and the cost.He told me what he thought needed to be done now, and what might be able to wait to fit in our budget. I bit the bullet and requested he do the repairs and asked when we could schedule it. He said, "right now!" He went and picked up some parts and came back and did everything on the spot. Jubran then discussed every possible way, from affordable to not affordable, to help us save on energy costs and help us keep our air conditioner in good running condition for a few more years (our air conditioner is severly undersized for this house, but an entire new unit isn't affordable at this moment). The time he took to explain everything he was doing, show me the parts that were replaced and why they needed replacement, and his help going over how to save money and not have to replace our unit this year was above and beyond. I have his business card under the glass on my desk so I can find it, and will be calling for the same service next year, and possible unit replacement in the near future. Since buying this house five years ago, we have had a handful of repair people in andout over the years... this company will be used for many, many, many years to come.
Description of Work: Provided a thorough review of our heating and air conditioning system. Cleaned outside air conditioning unit and recommended repairs.

The experience with Expo Heating & Cooling went well. I don't think I actually needed it done. I had just bought a home and the House Inspector said I needed it done. The guy from Expo was very informative and he was on time. It wasn't really his fault that there wasn't much wrong! If there was more to do, I think it would have been a fair price. It was a really professional service. They were really good at scheduling around my time. He was very friendly, very positive. The Company was great. The guy was really happy to have me walk round and explained things to me.

There was not pressure to make changes but an offer to replace our 14 year old compressor unit with a new Trane unit for a reasonably fair price. Unfortunately, although the tech did tell us that the new unit was an R-22 unit (i.e., using outdated coolant), he did not explain what that meant, so we are now stuck with a unit using a refrigerant that will be increasingly expensive. Since we are selling the house, this is not a big deal, but it would have been very helpful to be informed about the implications. The service, however, was very promptly and professionally done, and the price was fairly competitive, so we are not displeased, just a little chagrined that we weren't able to make a more informed decision. We will probably use this company again, but we will do our research before we do so.

The technician arrived on time. He cleaned the outer fan unit and also worked on the blower inside the house. My unit is old, and he recommended replacing a couple of parts that looked like they could break at any time. He said replacing the parts could get me 3-4 more years of use out of the old unit. He also quoted a price for replacement. He did not pressure me to buy.
