Christmas Lights By Brandon

I am really ticked about this job. Brandon and his helper came to our house and put up Christmas lights as I requested. I paid him $175.00 cash (as he requested). He used our lights that already had the clips on them and promised to have them down by the end of January. By the first of February, I started calling him but always got his voice mail. I left any number of messages and never got a reply. He said he'd been doing this for ten years. What. Ripping people off? I finally took them down myself today, Feb. 17th, dropping a large portion of them on the driveway, breaking them and then having to clean up the broken glass mess. I don't know how I will get the clips that were left way up high on the peak of the house. Don't use CHRISTMAS LIGHTS BY BRANDON or his other service, FIRST CLASS FENCING. I wanted him to give us an estimate for putting up a wrought iron fence for us, but absolutely not now. Bummer.

Brandon was hired to provide Christmas lights and install them on our house and in our yard. He was responsive and did an adequate job installing them, but today is January 31st and our Christmas lights have yet to be taken down. He told us that he would be back about the second week of January to take all of the lights off the house. We have called him repeatedly and just get his voicemail that "All Christmas lights will be taken down by January 20th". Yeah right! Beware of this guy!

We had major problems with Brandon Burke, dba: Christmas Lights by Brandon, that had the potential to be very dangerous. My husband hired Brandon Burke to install the christmas lights we had purchased along the eaves of our house. The service Brandon charged for was for the installation using gutter hooks we had purchased and was to include taking down the lights after the holiday season. Brandon had stated that he would have the lights down within a couple of weeks after the first of January. When we had not seen any sign of Brandon after a couple of weeks we began to call the number on his business card. Brandon never called or came by to remove the lights so we eventually took them down ourselves and we discovered a MAJOR problem with the installation. From the beginning the lights would not work if it rained. My husband assumed that Brandon had not plugged 2 of the strands together properly, but that was certainly not the case. Brandon had cut the ends off of a string of lights on our house and another on the garage and left the cut, unwrapped ends in the gutters with the bare wires exposed. That explained the shorting out when it rained!! It just defies logic that someone, no matter how ignorant, would leave bare wires exposed. Especially in a gutter!! We had seen his signs for a couple of years advertising his christmas light installation business, but I did not call any references so that makes me not very smart either. Brandon also has or had a business that installed fences. At the time we got his business card it was called First Class Fencing. Beware of this guy.
