The inspection went very well. The engineer showed up on time and was quite thorough. He let me know that the house did not have any conditions that warranted a further engineering inspection (e.g., for foundation or other structural issues) so I was pleased and relieved that he didn't just do one because it would have made them more money. The cost was approx. $900 which MAY seem high but you have to understand that the house is over 6200 sq. ft. (so it wasn't a bad deal at all). Also, the information in the detailed report saved me $85,000 off of the purchase price. I HIGHLY recommend Champions since I am FULLY SATISFIED!

It seems this inspector missed some important issues with the home he inspected. There is a building code violation that was discovered recently, which was missed during inspection. Also, the roof repair which this inspector passed had to be re-done at my expense since I had already purchased the home. For peace of mind, I think next time I will use someone outside the recommended list from a realtor. Other than that, he was a nice person.

The provider was punctual, courteous and competent. The inspection was thorough and the report was delivered in a timely fashion. If you really want to know whats going on with your foundation, I would recomment an independent engineer such as this one versus trusting foundation companies to be honest.

I thought I needed some foundation repairs and called several foundation companies to give me estimates. The prices and scope of work quoted were vastly different (including one who said I didn't need any repairs) so I had no idea which way to go. I called Champions Engineering to get an independent opinion from a structural engineer. Jeff came out quickly and explained that I really don't need any repairs at this time and why I don't. While here he also took a look at the rest of the house to see if I did need any work and suggested some things to improve drainage around the back of the house and also that I add weep holes to the brick - not what I called him out for, but definitely appreciated. I've already recommended him to a friend!

Our agent recommended another inspection company she normally works with, but they were unavailable. She asked the other agents in her office about Champions and was satisfied with their responses. Marlene at Champions scheduled the inspection. The house has a partial stucco exterior and Marlene took the extra step of arranging the stucco inspection for us. Jeff was prompt and professional. After he completed his inspection, he reviewed each item on the list with us. His report arrived quickly and we were able to obtain quotes for repairs before the end of our 10 day option period.
