Carnival Custom Painting

The crew did a very good job and Ron called daily to check on things. The work looks great.

We were very happy with the work performed by Carnival Painting. We hired them to do a lot of Sheetrock repair and painting after we leveled the house. The house was about 3" off in a few spots so several of the cracks were long and about 1/2" wide. These guys knocked it out in about 1.5 days. They got through all of the paining in another 1.5 days. I was shocked it only took 3 days to finish. The quote was a first rate proposal and was done on the spot. Ron had it printed in color and in my hand 10 min after we did the walk through. The workers showed up on time every day. Communication was not an issue as the leadman spoke English perfectly. We had a couple of minor comments once they were finished and they were taken care of immediately. Cleanup was performed every day and all of our furniture was covered to protect it. They even helped move a few things we missed. We would not hesitate to use Carnival Custom Painting again.

Beautifully. Only one hitch when one of the painters cleaned his brushes too near the house. He did this in an area where my dogs could get to the remains of paint. We live on 5 acres so there was no reason for this one guy to clean brushes near our house.

Carnival painting pleasantly surprised me with their diligence and desire to make sure I was happy from start to end!! They did a great job! From the very start of my interaction with Ron and his team they were very professional, and considering the work that had to be done, quite accommodating. I had Ron come out to give me a bid on the project after having several other Angie's list contractors come out. I had gotten general contractors to come out and provide me estimates since the repairs included taking down a wall, repairing wall holes, and fixing paint damage on my cabinets. However, in the end, it turned out I just needed a knowledgeable painter. Ron came out and provided me with a full and DETAILED bid on removing the wall, painting the house, and fixing up my walls subsequent to my plumbing work. The bid also included written up and detailed instructions about my responsibilities and the team's responsibilities. The work was extensive and I had gotten bids ranging from 15K -30K for the work from the contractors. The various ranges involved more work than was ultimately determined to be necessary. Carnival's bid was reasonable (about 11K + materials) and Ron was up front and honest from the very start about what all the work necessary would be. One of the main things I had wanted repaired was the painting of my cabinets, on which the paint had been peeling after only 4 years since the prior paint job (before I acquired the house). Ron inspected the paint job and confirmed that in fact the previous owners had painted cheap latex paint on top of oil based paint and had not primed the surface. This resulted in massive peeling. Normally this coat would have had to be stripped before painting with correct oil based paint, but Ron based on his experience and an assessment of the old paint job was able to judge that if a good primer was used, a good enamel based oil paint would work well. I was concerned about this, but in the end Ron was absolutely right. While the primer was strong and smelled terrible, the end result was excellently painted cabinets and wood trim. I am now back in my house, after having moved out for two weeks to complete the job, and love it. Ron's team did a great job painting and the quality of the work is great. The lines between painted areas are straight and clean, the surfaces are properly painted and the repair patches on the wall are hard to detect. I ended up paying a little more in materials than was originally estimated, but given the results and having supervised the project throughout its term, I understood the reason behind these costs. When I was surprised by one area not being painted, I talked to Ron about our respective expectations, and Ron was flexible enough to allow his team to meet my expectations. Ron even sent out his team to my house again when I indicated that some of the lines and trim were not to my 100% satisfaction and the team did a great job fixing what I was unhappy about. They did a Great job! Overall, Ron and his team were responsive, professional and did the work timely!! As with all projects, I had to do my part and do some supervision, but it was nothing unreasonable or unexpected. Ron said it would take two full weeks and that's what he stuck to. His willingness to make sure I was happy with the end result and sending out his team to resolve any issues are what will make me continue to recommend him. I might have been able to find a cheaper service, but I know I would not have been as happy with the results or have a warranty to go with it. They did a fantastic job and I am glad I went with them.

We have used Ron ( and Antonio ) several times, amounting to approx. $ 15 K overall, and they are unfailingly professional in all they do. The quality of their workmanship is also outstanding. They are extremely responsive to questions and/or concerns. You will not go wrong engaging Carnival.

They did an excellent job. We started with the inside and as they did such a good job kept adding on other areas. We are very pleased with the final results. I would highly recommend them and will use them again.

Great job. Painted 15' plus ceilings. Also refinished kitchen cabinets . Crew was always prompt. Handled the little glitzes that can arise with any job professionally. Very hard working . Ron responded to all concerns promptly. We ended up beautifully refinished cabinets and excellent paint job. We absolutely use them again and recommend without hesitation. Their pricing was great, we had four bids, they weren't the cheapest nor the most expensive .

First date to paint had to be rescheduled due to heavy rains, but Ron met my new dates. Crew showed up and worked well for two and half days. Nice job. They were not the lowest bid, but I felt since Ron responded so well to my questions and was so prompt on my calls and gave me a written bid emailed to me, I felt more comfortable going with him. I am pleased. Place looks really good.

Punctual, quality work, attention to detail, very neat, cleaned up was excellent and he worked around our schedule.

It went well. They were friendly. We liked the finished product, it looks good and they did a really good job. They were always on time.

Overall I was very happy with the quality of the work performed. It took a little longer than I was expecting but that's not a surprise for the most part. Ron gave me a quote a couple of months before and though I did have to confirm it was still honored despite the time difference between when it was provided and the service date. A 2 man crew was sent out. They did prep work primarily the first day, and some repairs to my garage trim boards. The second day they came out and did the actual paintwork. Mostly they did a good job though there were some spots they missed and a few that still need some touch-up that I will have to do myself. Until the day after the job was complete I thought they did a great job but I was disappointed to find a LOT of debris/trash in my backyard that they left. There was a pile of wood removed from my garage (part of the repairs) that I was expected to put out in the neighborhood trash over time - too much to put out at once. They also left their personal trash strewn about that section of my yard (cigarette packages, lunch wrappers, etc). They left behind the used paint cans/buckets - not just the ones with remaining paint but seemingly everyone used for the job at all. It took me more than an hour to clean up the mess they left behind. When I pay a contractor to do a job I expect my house to be left the way they found it - aside from being improved by their service (ie painting complete). If it weren't for the mess left behind I would have said the crew was very professional and I would use them again. I'm not positive I would call Carnival for future needs simply due to the mess I was expected to clean up on my own.

Appointment for estimate on time. Highest bid of all received but wanted to discuss and had some follow up questions. We had not ruled out using this company. I sent a e-mail with questions -- no response. Called in a couple of days, left a message, no returned call. Made a second call a couple of days later, someone answered the phone said they were transferring me to him but only got his voice mail. Left a second message and no returned call. Enough is enough, with no follow up to some simple questions we are not using this guy. No courtesy to answer e-mails or return calls is beyond unprofessional for me. Angie's List should no longer allow this company on their listings.

Everything went great. They were responsive to my call and were able to meet my deadline on when I needed the job complete. They made it very easy for me to handle this job from afar. I sent Ron photos of my home and he was able to give me my quote from the pics. On the day they did the painting, the painter called me to make sure we were on the same page of what needed to be done and that put me at ease. I felt the price was fair, and it was a hassle free experience with good quality painters. I would use their services again for my other properties.

I needed to have few rooms painted in my house and requested a quote. From the moment I left a message to receiving a quote my experience was fantastic. Although I end up not hiring this company this time, they are great to work with and very detail oriented, I am impressed. Mr Ron check the rooms and discussed about my expectations, went to his car and came back with a printed itemized quote. Absolutely professional. All these great reviews are in my opinion well deserved. Thank you Ron.

Largest estimate I received from 4 others contractors by over $1000. Felt as if the did not want the job and I put the contact out for asking for a quote

I received an estimate from Carnival for $2,300.00 Painters came out two weeks later to power wash, caulk, refinish 3 doors and paint exterior. When job was completed, I was given a bill for $2,700. To my surprise, the original quote of $2,300 was a labor estimate only. When I questioned the final bill, the Foreman immediately said "look at bottom of quote, materials are not included" So, I looked again at quote, and sure enough it does state material would be extra. from this quick response, it's pretty obvious that other home owner's were also thinking quote was "turnkey". So, if this practice is standard is the painting business, then my fault. If not, I believe this is deceptive practice. After all, contractors know their business and providing a quote with materials should be something they know.

It went very well and the big deal price covered everything that they did for us. What stood out to me the most about them were their price and the quality of their work. Their price was good and probably even the best.

I am very dissatisfied with the work. The workers drove their van over the lawn and left deep tire tracks in the grass. The contractor added sod to these areas once it was brought to his attention. Workmanship was very poor. Seams were not straight and sanding was incomplete. The drywaller added caulking to cover some areas. Corners are not finished properly. Overall the work was very poor. I was told that the job would be done in three days. It took six. Cleanup was poor. The dust was piled in the center of the room and not vacuumed up. I recommend this contractor be removed from Angies List.

Called me right back, showed up for estimate on a Sunday morning, always on time and very professional. Would totally recommend Carnival and will use them for future work. Tino, the painter and his son were very respectful and friendly!

Ron's crew did a fabulous job. I am seriously picky and they exceeded all my expectations. it was by nature a mess to remove and cover everything to spray. But they did a section of the house at a time. Punctual Honest Did what they said Quality work Nice What more can you ask for?

Over the course of 2 months I obtained 4 bids to paint the exterior of our house. Our house is approximately 2400 sq.ft. with an attached 500 sq.ft. garage and is stucco. Carnival's bid came in the most reasonable with the most expensive at $7,000+. The original bid was around $2,700 but we did an add-on with the back patio floor and front door landing. I signed and dated the bid, scanned it into my computer and emailed to Carnival and then we scheduled the date for the project. Since spring is a busy time to paint exteriors (cooler weather), our start date was 3 weeks out, which was no big deal to us. On the first day, the crew came and power washed the house and then began painting starting with the chimney and back covered patio ceiling. They were very professional and got right down to business after discussing with us what our color choice was and how we wanted it done, i.e., main house color vs. accent color. Carnival has an account with Sherwin Williams so we chose paint from their color choices. By having an account at a paint store and the quantity that's purchased, the company is given discounts which are passed along to the consumer. (At the end of the project we were presented with an invoice from Sherwin Williams showing the purchased paint and break down of cost.) The entire project took less than 3 days and my husband and I were very pleased with the results. The crew did a great job cleaning up the work site and did a good job not getting paint where it didn't belong, i.e., windows, doors, and 3' stone wall that went all the way around the house. It also helped that there weren't a lot of plants close to the house, which made it easier for the crew to get the job done fast. The only thing I was a bit disappointed was that a few of our smaller plants (8-20" high) were damaged because the ladder was placed on top of them, but this is the only negative thing we discovered throughout the project. Form of payment was handled with our credit card and by doing so there was a 3% upcharge added to the cost of the labor, not the paint. If we had paid by check, there would be no up charge. When I selected Carnival to do the job, the 3% upcharge was mentioned to me before signing the contract. Overall, our experience with Carnival Custom Painting (Ron Forest) was great and would recommend them to others.

Ron was always very responsive to my calls and very professional. Antonio and Juan did an excellent job with replacing the wood and painting the exterior. Antonio went out of his way to assist with selecting the color of the paint. They always cleaned up after each work day and was always on time. I am very happy with their service and would not hesitate to use them in the future or refer them to friends and family.
