AUTUMN AIR

I called around to get price quotes for service charges and the price of freon charged per pound. The best rate was Autumn Air. The service calls are scheduled in two hour increments. The expected time for arrival was between 10:00 - 12:00. The service tech arrived at 9:45 AM. The tech was nice, professional and quick. The price was lower than estimated! Great service, great price!

Great. The service man arrived on time, reminded me to change the batteries in the thermostats, and answered my questions.

Set up an appointment for annual service with specified time for the service scheduled between 8 and 10. The individual apparently did not bother to write down the appointment. I took time off to have the service done and around 9:30 a.m. I called to find out the status and was informed I had no appointment. The staff was polite and tried to accommodate the service but, it just took too much time and I had other commitments and could not wait any longer. Overall, not very reliable and I would not bother.

Daniel showed up on time. He even called a half hour before to let us know that he was on his way. He stayed pretty late, though. Daniel gave us a pretty stout quote of $9,100 to replace the entire heating/cooling system with a new heat pump, new duct work, and new tubing. It was for an Amana 16 SEER system, which I found out later was a pretty high-dollar brand name. Had this been a newer or nicer house, we might consider his estimate, but for now it's just overkill for our humble home. Daniel was pleasant to talk to, and he took his time in explaining everything. We never got the impression that he was annoyed with our questions or even once felt like he was trying to sell us a new A/C unit. In the end, he gave us some tips on do-it-yourself items such as installing a digital thermostat, insulating the freon line, adding insulation, etc., until we can find a cheaper alternative.

Although we knew when we bought this house over a year ago that the heating and A/C system was past its prime and not very efficient, we didn't realize the two coils were leaking, drain pans were rusty, and that one of the condensing units was 15 years old. The company that found that out (they had offered over the phone to check our system at a 'promotional rate') gave quite a high estimate for the work to be done. That triggered our first search on Angie's List. We contacted Autumn Air. They checked our system for free and made the same diagnosis. Danny Gonzalez was courteous and took time to sit down and explain the specifics of the condensing units he advised us to have; the price for these and the coils and the total estimate were very reasonable. Ricky and another man came on time and performed the tasks fast and well, and cleaned up afterwords. The work was done in one day instead of two as first planned!

They were fine. They arrived on time, and work was completed quickly.

Service estimator and repairmen were prompt and polite. Repair work was scheduled four days after evaluation. Job was completed in fewer hours than estimated. Air conditioner is working well at this time, although there have not been many occasions to test it thus far. Check with me in six months.

I called Autumn Air on Friday 11/24/06 and requested an appointment. The person who answered the phone was pleasant and professional, she put us on the schedule for Monday 11/27/06. Daniel, our very competent technician, arrived on time. He was very knowledgeable, obviously a skilled craftsman. He clearly explained what he was doing. I was also impressed that Daniel periodically teaches his trade to vocational students; gave me the reassurance I have when I'm in a teaching hospital. Great job, will definitely use Autumn Air again. Thanks!

A service company that actually values service. They arrived on time and were very knowledgeable. Diagnosed the problem and had everything fixed within two hours. Clean, friendly, punctual, and fixed the problem right the first time. Highly recommend these guys.

They arrived promptly when scheduled. Promptly started to the work, it was a warm day and he had to turn on the heater so he worked very quickly to minimize discomfort for the 7 people in the house, it was very much appreciated! He made a thorough and quick inspection. He also made a very good suggestion regarding our thermostat that will save us money that we are going to do this spring.

The technicians arrived promptly on the scheduled morning. They laid tarps over all of the floors before beginning work. Over the next approximately six hours, the two young men removed the old and rusted equipment and installed the new, including the thermostat. Finally they cleaned the condenser coil. Both young men were polite during their time in our home, working diligently and leaving the floors and the rest of the house clean. Jose then used a camera/phone to show me photos of the work they had completed in the attic. The air conditioner has worked well since then and to date we have had no problems with it.

Autumn Air performed a very thorough maintenance inspection. During the inspection, Danny discovered that the gas pressure was low when both furnaces were running and made a recommendation for fixing this problem. He also discovered that the blower motor was bad and it was replaced.

Autumn Air was able to come out the next day and determined that my electricians had dropped 2 large metal rings inside the A/C unit which dented the blade causing it to wobble. They were able to straighten out the dent with pliers and it began to run quiet again. They only charged me $42.

I'm just not sure about Autumn Air yet. You would think I would since they have been to my house at least 10 times since April. I did sign a maintenance agreement, but I don't see much of a cost break. In fact, even though we are ''preferred customers'' due to the agreement, it took them a week to schedule to repair our AC, our bedroom AC in 100 degree weather. Then they had to return 3 times because they did not install some portion correctly. I also didn't like the fact that the guy who showed up to install the coil didn't have an Autumn Air shirt on, didn't drive one of their trucks, didn't have a card, and only had a xerox work order. I didn't let him in the door until I called AA and confirmed he was with them, and I should not have had to do that. Given that, most of the time they have been timely in servicing my systems. You would think they would see our house as a gold mine and make sure we are very happy, and the job is excellent each time. We have 6 units!

The technician barely arrived at the very end of the two hour window that they gave me. The work was finished satisfactorily and the price was reasonable.

Repairman was very courteous. Even wanted to show me the damage before he repaired it!

On time, helpful, reasonable. We would definitely call them again and are considering a service contract.

The repairmen was pleasant and punctual. However, he charged $55 to come to the house for the diagnostic portion and an additional $45 to ''flip'' the breaker switch.

Clarence took our call and scheduled an appointment. The initial diagnostician (Danny) arrived at 6PM when Clarence promised a 12PM-2PM arrival. The agreed to work was then scheduled to take place in two days, which it did. That work was done on time and as promised. Our upstairs is now wonderfully cool. Best in 10 years! Price equalled the quote. No surprises.

Excellent service. Prompt return of phone calls. Initial appointment and installation were on the requested date and time without problems. They were always on time. They gave detailed quote for replacement at initial visit which was all-inclusive. The job was completed in about 6 hours. They cleaned up afterwards. A pleasure to work with. Would recommend strongly.

Immediate response to call for determining trouble, prompt arrival of technician to change out the unit. Because of the need for immediate correction of the problem, no additional quotes were obtained. However, we feel the price was probably in line. So far, we are pleased with the work done and hope immediate return corrective calls are unnecessary.

He said he thought it may be my neighbors, I don't think it is because he's not there often. When they installed the condenser, I asked the installer if they had placed plywood under it so it will make noise. He said it was not necessary because they put down a foam to set it on. I feel like it's not cooling to it's potential. They came out an put a piece under the condenser and it has been much quieter at night.

The same fellow came two months earlier and said no additional charge was necessary. The situation was the same and 2 additional charge were added. No real assistance concerning the ductwork discharge. Need to supervise and be there when they inspect.

Very good experience. I made the appointment a week in advance, and they showed up on schedule. The pricing seemed reasonable.

Autumn came out the same day we called to bid the project. They bid the project, but mentioned the refigerant needed was difficult to find but said they would look and get back to us. He called the next day at noon when he told us he would and said he was unable to locate it but recommended Randall's Refrigeration to do the work. We ended up using Randall's for the work.
