KING RANCH TURF

Very inconsistent Delmar sod quality. Most of the sod was cut thin and looked brown with a few blades of green grass when delivered. King Ranch Austin said it would recover with enough water. Attached photos show what it looked like shortly after installation. Watered it per King Ranch instructions but it grew in patches with many dead areas. Looks terrible. Also, two pallets were a different variety than what I ordered. King Ranch delivered replacements three days later but it cost me $200 extra to have them installed. At least this sod was in better condition than the first delivery and is now thick green turf. Several attempts to resolve the poor quality Delmar sod issue with King Ranch were unsuccessful. They maintain that my backyard has too much shade but this does not explain why two pallets are doing so well and the rest is not. My landscaper and I believe it is due to the wide variation in their Delmar sod quality and how it was cut at the sod farm. Hopefully King Ranch identified the causes and fixed them for future customers.

Had to lay new sod down in my front yard, shopped around and ended up going with King Ranch Turf. I'm thankful I did. Their pricing was excellent as well as the quality of grass. ZERO weeds or ants in the sod. Nice thick soil base and easy to install with proper cut pieces. The grass looks beautiful. Well worth the short drive north on 281 just passed Hwy 46. Get there early as the close at noon on Saturdays.
