We needed someone to do this small job and called ACB after looking under 'Handymen' on Angie's List. Alan came out the same day to look at the job. He came the next week and did the drywall and mounted the plug. The plug had to be mounted low, and later that day we found the stove drawer would not close. We called him and he came out right a way, the same day, and re-positioned the plug. He said he would be back after the area dried to finish sanding and texturing. He called the next week and came and finished. Alan is very friendly and professional. We appreciate him doing this small job and would definitely call him again for other jobs we may need done, both big and small.

Alan and his crew were AWESOME!! First, Alan came by to take a look at the work to be done, then we agreed on what I needed to provide (lumber) and when he and his crew would show up. They showed up when they said they would, brought all the equipment required to do the job. They were very professional, got right to the job. They had to remove the sliding glass, remove all the rotted framing, then reframe the door so that it is square and the door will actually slide on it's rollers. The building has been standing for almost 40 years, and is settling, so the leveling was a bit complex, but they got it right, the first time! The door works like a charm. They were also to re-trim the door inside and out. I will be residing the building in the near future and would have to remove the trim. I didn't even have to ask them to lightly attach it so I could easily remove it. They were way ahead of me, and did exactly that without my asking. I like it when a contractor anticipates my future needs. They left the jobsite clean, removed all trash and debris. I could not ask for more. I will definitely use Alan and his crew for future work, as this is a "project" house.

I called Hill Electric two days before the work was done to get an estimate. Amy was very polite and professional when she answered the phone. She took my name and phone number since the person doing the estimates was out on another call. An hour or so later, Al returned my call, and I outlined what I had wanted done. He gave me a fair estimate that included the Angie's List coupon. We scheduled the work late in the day so that I would be there when the electrician arrived. (I work during the day.) Eric arrived about 10 minutes before the appointed hour. I gave him the new lights and showed him where to put them. He was done in 45 minutes. He mentioned that the photocells in the old lights had rotted out, hence the reason for their (early) demise. He also mentioned that the new lights were very bright. And he was right! However, I'm very happy with the service I received, and so far, the lights are working as they should.

I can't say enough wonderful things about ACB Services. We had a horrible experience with another remodeler who left our house in shambles and walked out on the job. I called ACB because of the excellent reviews on Angie's List. We are close to Hwy 46, and most San Antonio companies have an extra gas charge to come out this far. That was another reason for choosing ACB.....the hill country seems to be their home area, and they don't have that extra fee. Alan came in, walked through the house with me, and together, we came up with a detailed list of everything that needed attention. He gave us a very reasonable price. They came the next morning, hit the ground running, and worked extremely hard all day long. They got more done in 2 days than the other guy had done in 2 weeks. They spent no time slacking. They are meticulous and professional. They know exactly what they are doing and their attention to detail is incredible. We were so pleased with their work, we found all kinds of other things for him to do even after he was finished with the list. I would most definitely recommend them and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Alan reviewed the work to be done, prepared a detailed estimate in approximately a day. He was able to start work with two days of the estimate. The work was completed in two days. They were efficient, and performed all task they estimated, and did all work with a high degree of quality. Very pleased with their professionalism and work ethic. I will use them on other projects.

Friends recommended ACB Services to me. I contacted Alan. I was extremely pleased that he not only showed up within a day of my calling, but also he started my project when he said he would - and finished a day early! He is extremely professional. He and his assistant were very considerate of my having to work out of my home - they were very quiet. They used a drop cloth on the floors. They removed all the doors and drawers and took them to ACB's shop to refinish them. Within two days the drawers and doors were back in place. While Alan was at the house working on my cabinets/drawers, he noticed that my outdoor pond was leaking onto my driveway. He repaired the holes in my pond lining and now the leaks are fixed. I recommend ACB Services because of their professionalism, promptness, courtesy, and excellent work.

I was referred to Mr. Gayford at ACB Services by a friend. Being always skeptical of handy men that I do not know personally, I called him to set up a time to meet initially. He was prompt and prepared. I wanted my water damaged kitchen ceiling repaired and/or replaced, textured to match the walls, and painted, along with installation of a kitchen ceiling fan. Mr. Gayford gave me a very reasonable estimate of $500 for labor and supplies, and we made an appointment for the next day for the work to begin. Mr. Gayford arrived at my house at the appointed time with an assistant. They were careful to remove their shoes and to drape the kitchen counters and appliances in plastic. He used a mold inhibiting primer to begin, let that dry, and then painted the ceiling, making sure to match the paint exactly. He then used a texturizer to blend with the rest of the ceiling. After allowing the paint to dry, Mr. Gayford went into the attic to survey the site for the new electrical outlet. He installed the fan in approximately 30 minutes, tested it, and gave me the appropriate instructions and warranties. He then undraped the cabinets and appliances and used touch-up paint to ensure an even edge between the ceiling and wall paint. After he completed his task eight hours later that day, he showed me his work and asked if I could check it for my satisfaction. It was pristine, and there was no trace any work had been done. The ceiling looked as though it had never been damaged or repaired. Mr. Gayford has also installed a ceiling fan in my living room that took him approximately 30 minutes from start to finish. He was careful to wipe off his fingerprints from the fan and the ceiling so that from all appearances that fan had been there for years. I asked Mr. Gayford to assist me in some outdoor plumbing problems. My drip irrigation system needed to be overhauled and, although he had little experience with such a system, he quickly assessed the problems, got the necessary parts, replaced them, and then tested the system. It worked as it should. At my request, he also replaced the outdoor water faucet handles with ones that were more user-friendly to arthritic hands In a separate work order, Mr. Gayford replaced the interior working parts of all of my bathroom toilets, tested them, and ensured all was in proper working order before he left about an hour later. He charged me for about an hour's labor. Finally, Mr. Gayford replaced worn weatherstripping on my front door and inspected all other outside door weatherstripping for wear and tear. To sum up, Mr. Gayford was prompt, polite, conscientious, prepared, knowledgeable, fast, and cheerful and charged me extremely reasonable rates. He did not charge me a travel fee, nor did he try to upsell me. He showed up when promised, performed the work in a quick, efficient manner, and cleaned up after himself. I was quite impressed by his outgoing nature and attention to detail. I would recommend Mr. Gayford as a handy man to anyone who needs help around the house.
