 + 0 moreEd's crew arrived on time each day and worked hard to finish the project within a few days. The retaining wall was a huge project, but they were able to complete the entire wall in 2 days. It looks beautiful, structurally solid, and matches the house exactly. They also picked up all stone that I'd ordered through a local stone supply company. Ed took the time to let me completely explain what I was looking for, including materials (cement, color, etc.). My wife and I are completely satisfied with the incredible work that Spicewood Stone did around our entire home.
Description of Work: We decided to complete stone, masonry, and gravel work around our 4 year old home, which still had contractor standard landscaping. We hired another company to work up the plans, but their estimate to complete the job was unbelievably over budget. I contacted Ed and he provided a free written estimate on the spot. Ed's estimate was more affordable for us; plus I did not mind doing the landscape planting on my own. His crew did a professional job on a magnificent retaining wall, stone borders, a stone pathway with gravel, finished out the front porch with stone veneer, a stone landing for the deck, and completed another stone pathway from the side gate to the rear deck. My wife and I are extremely impressed with their quality work. They also did a tremendous job with cleanup after the project was complete - nothing was left dirty.

 + 0 moreWe recently built a new home on a steeply sloped lot in far Southwest Austin. I wanted to avoid formal mortared rock walls and wanted a more natural dry stack look which would blend in with the surrounding hill country terrain and landscape. I stopped by Spicewood Stone because it happened to be right down the road from our new home and I am very glad that I did. I had received outrageous bids from several landscape companies and had almost decided to chuck the whole project but Ed did a wonderful job at a very reasonable cost and I couldn't be happier. They used native "Spicewood Stone" and it dramatically improved the look and value of our new home. They did have to come make a couple of corrections but they did so quickly so it was no problem.
Description of Work: Dry stack retaining walls made of very large flat boulders allowed us to created an additional parking area on a steeply sloped lot. Another dry stack retaining wall created a large flat area around one side of the house where the ground sloped away from the foundation. This allowed us to create a cool grassy area out of the sloped terrain. They also installed additional dry stack walls for planting beds and various other stone architectural features.
