Description of Work: Work was not completed when promised. There were several delays and more promised dates that were not met. |When I called to follow up, my calls were not returned. Finally, had to go by the shop to inquire . |The young man at the desk, who identified himself as the owner's son, was rude. Description of Work: Extremely good quality of work. I cannot tell where the repairs were made. However, after originally telling me 4-6 weeks to repair a dining room chair, I didn't actually get it back until 9 months later after several phone calls and visits to the store. I believe my smaller scale repair kept being pushed aside for more elaborate projects.

+ -1 moreWe recently tried to set up an appointment for more work that we wanted to proceed with as well as the same Dining table they had refinished and now had a chip and some more new scratches. They did not follow up to schedule. A message was left on their voice mail without response even though we were initially told that we'll hear back that afternoon.
Description of Work: Dining Table was refinished. Although the surface presented with a new scratch upon delivery, they took table back and removed and redelivered. There seemed to be a shiny spot still remaining (possible rub mark) on surface which we just decided not to point out as well as the unfilled cracks in base of table (also wooden). Other pieces were shown when estimate was given for dining table at initial visit for us to receive a cost estimate. We recently called for the table to be further repaired since it has a new chip and some minor scratches. Was told another estimate will be needed and they will call to schedule after speaking with Daniel who gives the cost estimates later that afternoon. We have yet to hear from them, even though a message was left again. There has to be a difference between businesses who follow up and follow thru, treating customers with respect.

+ -1 moreI've used this business for 5 years and the prices have increased astronomically. My first piece was an antique buffet that required a leg repaired and the entire piece stripped and stained: cost $350 in 2009. In 2010 they repaired and stained a dresser for $350. Another dresser followed at $450. Then last year I had a small dressing table done for $850! I also had 2 stools done but I'm not sure what I paid. The last piece was the front door to a secretary that needed replacement veneer for the front only (26and quot;x13and quot;) that cost over $300. (can't find receipt) Not only do I believe the cost out of range, but the piece was at the vendor from January to March. I called several times and was told the weather was the delay, but I'm not sure that was the case. Westwood does excellent work, but I feel that as a long time customer I was pushed to the side because my piece was of little value to them. I have many more antiques to refinish but will search elsewhere in the future.

Description of Work: Westwood antiques refinished a vanity and stool I had previously painted with spray paint. We purchased new bedroom furniture In a rich mertlot finish and wanted the vanity to match. They fixed places where the veneer was peeling and successfully matched the color and finish. It now looks as if it is a part of the set. The upholstry on the stool is amazing!

+ 0 moreThey repaired some antiques and did the upholstery on some chairs and cushions. They did beautiful work. There prices are not insane even though the upholstery is not cheap. Their price depended on the fabric I used because they custom made some cushions covers for me and reupholstered some dining room chairs and two easy chairs as well, which were all different prices. They responsiveness was good and they delivered the things when they said they would. I will use them in the future and I have great plans for them.
