Excellent. On time, professional, excellent prep and clean up. Came in below estimate. Beyond expectations.

Although a little pricey, we were impressed with the presentation and explanation of what would be done, the assurance that we need not pay until satisfied, plus the 3-yr. warranty. We scheduled 3 weeks in advance and requested their ‘A-team’ as we had several repairs plus painting. We also requested someone fluent in English on the job so there would be no misunderstanding as to what we wanted done. We were assured that would not be problem and work began the week of June 11. Day 1, the prep appeared to go well. Day 2 started well, but the head of the team left around noon and did not return until end of day. Not only did communication become a problem, but obvious shortcuts were taken and the work for that day was unacceptable. Day 3 was spent correcting the work done on day 2, plus many other flaws throughout. Again, the head of the team arrived with the workers, then left for another job. Once the obvious problems were resolved, we paid for the job. About 5 weeks later, the ceiling repair that we were assured would no longer be a problem failed and split open. I left messages for the service manager, who did not return calls. I then contacted the area manager who did not return calls. I finally emailed the owner of the Southlake location, who replied, but nothing got accomplished. After weeks of ignored communication, then excuses for numerous appointments resulting in no shows and delays, our painting team finally returned to repair their first repair. The area manager came to check our satisfaction and agreed with us that the completed repair was an unsuccessful amateur attempt. He then turned it over to another team to complete. It was finally completed September 27 and appears to be done correctly on the surface, but time will tell. The job is only as good as the team that shows up on your doorstep. And responsiveness from management has been frustrating and unprofessional. Would I hire them again? No, the unnecessary frustration, lack of consideration and repeated waste of my time was not worth it.

We hired this company due to all the amazing Angie's list reviews, seemed it would be a no brainier. Prior to the job start the company seemed amazing, always very punctual and super helpful with picking out colors etc. We were quoted a little over a week for the entire project - which seemed in line with the other time lines we had received. My suggestion if you do decide to hire this company is to allow extra time as a 1 week project turned into 3 weeks, also stay on top of them in the beginning about prep work, check in on the project everyday and point out the issues you see each day. There was over spray in basically every room from the re-texturing of the ceiling- in which they just painted over, we had to point out each part for them to come back and fix it. There was popcorn still left in areas of the ceiling, holes that were supposed to be patched (like where towel racks were) were left and just painted over. If you stay on top of them about prep work the job will get done. Below is a detailed description of the errors that occurred: At the end of the 1st week, there was still a lot of work to be done, they started another job the following Monday so went an entire day without working, came back on Tuesday and realized there was more work than they expected to be completed. We had flooring being installed on Wed so they moved to the outside Wed and Thursday. They came back in to finish up the inside on Friday and Monday and assumed they were done. The timeline issue was one small part of our problem, but the work they did was so unprofessional, as i mentioned above, we had issues with a lot of details, and not minor details - things that was easily visible. After calling the company they sent a different team back out that Friday. This team was much more professional and cleaned up a lot of issues, but there was SO much touch up work from the prior team they didn't get it all completed, and once again had them scheduled for another job so had to leave to go to that one. There was still touch ups needed in a few rooms and some baseboards that were never painted. At that point my husband and I decided there was no point in getting them to come back out, and fixed it ourselves (they did knock off $100.00.....). All in all we were extremely disappointed. We hired a company to get a professional painting look- and at the end of the day that is not something we got.

Great, I had a last minute schedule change they were flexible. Only complaint is a large space required two coats due to collar change, not adequately communicated in advance

I thought they were very through and checked back. We even had a problem spots were squirrels came back and started nibbling some spots they came back to fix it and took some extra measures make sure it didn't happen again.

Everything was done to my satisfaction.

Jason is very responsive and gave us a very detailed and competitive quote. We ended up having all the trim on the first floor, as well as the stair risers and spindles and the fireplace surround and mantle, painted a consistent color. In addition, they painted the living room walls and the ceilings in the LR and DR, after doing a great job patching and floating all the plaster cracking and prior water damage flaking. The crew consisted of six professional painters that knocked out the job in 2-1/2 days! We are really pleased with the result and will definitely call Southern Painting again when we're ready to do other parts of the house.

It went well throughout the process. Brant my sales guy kept me informed of the crews schedule and answered my questions. Overall I'm happy overall, there were only minor issues, like painting over a sticker on a back door instead of removal and then painting.

They actually did quite a bit of work for us. It was pretty good, they were pretty good.It was several different jobs and different visits. It was a lot.Compared to some of the other companies they were good. They were right in the middle. I'd say they're not the cheapest, they're not the most expensive, but I liked their way of doing things better. If they don't get it right, they're likely to come back to fix it for you.Well, I think there's some communication problems, they did speak spanish. there was one piece in the hallway that was primed, but not painted. My husband had called them. Not the owner but the workers.

Very impressed. They exceeded my expectations. The crew arrived on time and completed a fairly big job in one day on a very hot day. They did a great job making sure the yard was clean when they left. Southern Painting did some work for us about 8 years ago. We recently moved back to Texas and they were first on our list to call.

Brant was punctual for the estimate and extremely knowledgable and helpful. He came out a second time to help me decide on paint and provided many estimates for future work. They may be a bit pricier than other painters but they are honest and actually recommended I not spend extra money painting my crown molding since it is in good shape. The painters were also punctual and Brant came to make sure his painters knew exactly what to do. The actual painting is very well done. I am extremely picky and was very impressed with the work. I will be using them again soon.

Brant was professional & attentive on the phone & onsite in our initial review & understanding of my project. The estimate was well prepared, thorough and fairly priced. Phil, the project manager, was also professional and carefully reviewed every detail with me to ensure complete satisfaction. Phil brought & introduced the crew as work began as well as following up each of two days with me and the crew to ensure the work was to my satisfaction. The crew were friendly, professional, thorough, clean and quick. The work was completed timely and to my complete satisfaction. I would definitely recommend Southern Painting. I am a repeat customer (they completed my exterior house painting in 2008) as are most of my neighbors.

He does his own work. Was punctual, did prep work and was pleasant. Liked him so much I hired him to do walls next.

Everything went great, and everything looks good. They were courteous and cleaned up after themselves each day. They completed the work in a very timely and efficient manner as well.

Great painting, but bad communication and professionalism. The finished product on the house looks great. The crew did a great job and were done in one day with the entire exterior of my house. But there were two major problems that I experienced: there was very little communication from Southern Painting about when work would be done on my house, and there were painters walking through my house unsupervised all day without my knowledge. I was originally told that my house was on the schedule for the week of Easter. I got call at 11:30 am on Saturday that guys would be there to pressure wash the house at 4:00 pm. My wife and I had to scramble to clear off the porch as we were headed out the door to a wedding. Then on Monday morning at 9:30 am I got a call that the painting crew was at my house today doing prep work. Phil said that he wished I would have been home today so that he could point out some other areas of siding that needed to be replaced for an additional $300. I would have been home if anyone had ever told me that they were going to be working on the house that day! The additional charge for the siding wasn't a big deal. It needed to be done right, and the additional areas did need to be replaced. We have some ladies that clean our house every other Monday. They cleaned the house and evidently let the painters into the house to work on the doorways. The cleaning ladies then left the house with the painters still inside the house. I'm not sure who to blame here....I came home at 3:00 pm expecting "prep work" only to be done on the outside of the house to find that half the house is painted and painters walking through the house without anyone at home. Not to mention that there wasn't a supervisor on site that spoke any English. The crew did finish painting the house the same day which was nice. And the quality is really good for the price that was paid. But more professionalism and communication from Southern Painting would have made this a great experience.

He came out, was very prompt, very courteous. He brought brochures. He presented a very nice package. He looked over the property and let me know what he thought they could do for us. What stood out to me was just how professional and courteous he was and the presentation that he gave.

The Saleman kept referring to the mult-million dollar homes his group painted and referred to my job as a "little job". I don't consider a $12,000 estimate - job, a little job. He was socially unaware and cocky.

My husband could have painted our home, but we had just spent $500 for new baseboards, and we wanted to be sure the oil-based paint was done right. In retrospect, my husband would have done a better job because he would have used tape. Dale, the salesperson/owner, was very kind and honest. However, the head of the work crew (Rene) was very difficult to work with. He never showed up on time, twice leaving a crew on site without instructions because he had not arrived yet. Dale said they would paint the baseboards and trim first and then the walls, but the first day we came home the walls were done and the trim had not been started. The result was sloppy trimwork. Even worse, the crew started painting the baseboards without cleaning up (vacuuming, dusting) after they painted the walls, leaving very poorly finished, gloppy baseboards. Dale thought it was the quality of the paint and had the Sherwin Williams rep. come out and look at the problem, but it was not an issue with the paint since the areas higher up dried smoothly as expected. Rene showed up for the walkthrough without the appropriate supplies/tools to correct any issues, so we waited another day to get the problems corrected. Then, he only remedied a third of the problems. After that, I made a typed check list of all the issues. He put the list aside and, again, completed only a third of the remaining issues, never referring to the list. (His brother was a lot easier to work with and did a better job of fixing issues). The third time Rene came out, he missed the appointment altogether and then showed up much later while we had company. We let him go ahead and work around the playing children, but I couldn't do as thorough of an inspection as I would have liked, and, once again, he did not complete all the issues. At this point, we washed our hands of this company. The crew left promptly at 5 PM every day, even if the work was not complete (including the last day), scratched our brand new wood floors sliding our blinds under our couch, did not re-hang the closet bars, put all the door knobs back on the wrong doors, and did not clean up afterwards. They painted over the WOOD trim around our fireplace, as well as our cabinets, and there are obvious drops of colored paint on white trim. In all, the work was very disappointing, and hopefully Dale has parted ways with this crew because he seems like a hardworking, honest person to deal with.

My experience did not start out great as I called to setup an appointment to get an estimate. Nobody answered the phone and I left a message. After 2 days of no return call, I called again and the phone was answered. I didn't mention the previous message not being returned, so there could have been an issue with the recording as this was the only communication problem that I encountered. I setup an appointment for an estimate and Dale showed up on time and was very informative about the services that would be performed. He showed me some colors from the paper sample sheets and suggested I get some real paint samples and look at it in different times of the day (shadows, sunlight, dusk, etc.) before picking a color. We used the color samples sheets and decided on 4 colors. We went to Sherwin Williams and bought 4 paint samples. I brushed a couple places on the house including garage doors with the samples. It was amazing the difference it made from looking at a painted section rather than holding up a piece of paper with a color. I setup a date to start the project. I was out of town and got a call from Phil saying they wanted to start early. I gave them permission to start as I didn't need to be there for the power washing. They did show up on a Saturday to power wash. They were to continue the work the next Monday but did not show up. I called and apologized for getting delayed a day. I was not waiting at home so that was okay. They promised to be out the next day and did show up as promised. They completed the rest of the work in 2 days as mentioned. They guys painting were quick and did a really quality job. The "freeze board" that covers the brick that was replaced was not an exact match but considering the other boards are 14 years old that is not a surprise. By time it was painted, the difference was only noticable if you really look. I only found 1 paint drip on the side walk and absolutely no overspray or paint on the bricks. The gutter was fully painted including down spouts and looks great. They cleaned up well before they left. I only have 2 things that appear to have been missed. There is 1 little spot up on the eve of the house for which it looks like the ladder hit it while being removed or it may be the wood is split. It is hard to determine from the ground. Also, they missed removing the tape/paper where they covered up the satellite dish and wiring, but that is not a big deal for me to remove as it is on the side of the house and not up high. I have not yet called to get Phil to come out and look at it wood spot to see what could have happened and get it fixed so I can't comment yet on the follow up service. Overall, I think I got a quality job at a resonable price. I would definitely use Southern Painting again.

A great experience from start to finish. What I liked best was the written estimate, on the spot. All other bids were by email or snail mail; one did not even tell us the final price until he emailed two days later. Southern was not the cheapest, but they were within $100 and the other items (following) made the difference. 1. We needed some wood work to repair water damage. Mr McDaniels walked the property, found all the damage I knew about and two I did not, discussed and agreed on the method of repair, and gave me a breakout on the cost of the wood work. Not all of the others were confident they could fix all of my water damaged wood. 2. Scheduled work to our requirements vice thier availability. 3. Very careful and neat. 4. Beautiful job. The repair work was excellent, and since I was home, I watched it being done. The painting took less time than the prep, and the results show the extra care. What could they have done better. Some flowers got trampled, but they cover all the bushes ( and cars) to prevent overspray. Over all, a very good performance.

Phone receptionist very courteous and polite. Clay arrived early for the estimate for a small exterior job, was very professional and helpful. I have decided not to do the job at this time, but if I did I would not hesitate to call them again.
