Response from Century Granite & Marble
This client selected a slab from a slab distribution yard. We were prepared to ship their slab to our facility for fabrication. The client asked if we had a partial slab they could purchase instead since their job was small and did not require a full slab. We do offer partial slabs and using a partial slab for small jobs does save the client considerable amount of money on their job. This client asked to have one partial slab pulled from our racks for viewing. We did pull the slab and stage for viewing as requested. The client did not show up for their viewing appointment as scheduled. The client appeared a few days later unannounced and demanded that we pull three more slabs out immediately for their viewing. We unfortunately did not have the resources available to us to pull further slabs at this time due to our current work load. Century Granite is suprised that the client has entered a review so poorly when we were adding value to them offering a premium stone partial slab at a lower cost than their full slab selections.

First of all the lack of responsiveness and focus on the money and payment terms were should have raised a flag to me. Once we picked the granite out, we picked out higher (16 gauge) sinks from them for our home. When the installers came, they removed the cook top (which was working without problem) and put it in the garage. They commenced to deinstalling the counter tops kitchen and laundry room. Once the new ones were in, the laundry rooms, which also got a new sink and grantire did not fit. The granite did NOT overlap into the sink but was short on the sides causing a trap for water and dirt. Trevor stated it was cause they were not used to fabricating them to higher quality sinks. Secondly the cooktop when put back did not work. I called them and once again, he stated, Century is not repsonsible for the cooktops and this cost more money to get repair. Lastly, the the backsplash was done my a sub contractor. If you would like to see how the work was and the grout lines were not aligned I will share pictures. if I wasn't there he would have left it that way but I made him take it down and redo it Overall, this is not a company I will do business with again.

Our terms and conditions are clearly printed on the bottom of every work order. Century does not fabricate an overhang on our sink installations. Our sink holes are cut to be flush with the sides of the sink as seen in our showroom. Century regularly installs sinks of all types and of all quality. Century Granite is sorry to hear that the client was not satisfied with their installed products. Our salesperson offered to re-manufacture and replace the laundry piece if it did not meet their standards; however, the client never responded with an answer. We were under the impression the client was satisfied with the work completed. Century Granite has been successfully serving the Greater DFW area for more than 15 years.

A company representative recommended a particular type of granite without telling us several pertinent details about that choice. We have since talked to three companies who said they never recommend that type and if a client requests it they are sure to give several cautions. We were immediately unhappy with the granite and have since replaced it with a less expensive option that is much better. We had many delays in starting the job and communication was very spotty. The job was very sloppy with visible cut marks in the granite. In our redone job (with another company), there are no visible breaks. Our kitchen was damaged. Initially we were told that there would be no remedy because the damage could not have been avoided. Having redone the work with another company, we know this is not true. After persisting, some of the damage was repaired, but it was handled very unprofessionally and our contact at Century spoke poorly of us to other contractors. Having redone the work we could not believe the difference in the professionalism, time frame and quality of work. Century did a subpar job from beginning to end and did not seem to care.

The client spent only $2,665.00 with our company to fabricate and install Absolute Black honed granite for their kitchen. We have installed this same granite in many homes without any customer complaints. The client did personally select this material. During the installation the drywall was marked. We sent a professional painter who performed the drywall repair at Century's expense. The client was satisfied with the repair and asked the painter to perform other additional work in their home. The last correspondence Century had with the client was by email dated Tuesday, June 17, 2014 9:11 PM where the client stated "Your guys were very courteous today and did a nice job on the countertops." Century was completely unaware that this client had any further concerns with their job.

They came a little late but not a problem. A team of 3 had our slab and came in to remove the old counter tops, including a very heavy wall mirror that they removed for me. Not part of the deal but I was glad they helped. The install went pretty smoothly with just a little grinding and measuring to make sure it fit properly. There were two counters, one with two sink holes they cut and one for a cabinet top. The window sills were put in place and I noticed the windows wouldn't close all the way, hitting the edge of the granite. Once I pointed it out, they quickly pulled them out, ground them down a little a re-installed. Looks fantastic. All in all, they did a great job and we would use them again. Cleaned up everything including the front sidewalk, taking away not only the old counter tops but also that huge mirror.

Description of Work: Poor quality workmanship in match premium granite and back splash for kitchen and laundry room. The match was terrible it looked like a checker board, light piece then dark. They were slabs in consecutive order. They attempted to fix by removing some and replace with like granite, not of the same lot. The counter tops still were so badly matched I was embarrassed to have any one see them. The project was to be finished in 2 weeks in October of 2012. The did not keep that agreement. The salesman became rule and disrespectful to me he only liked to speak to my husband. This process continued until spring when we could not get decent repairs they did replace all the granite, had to copse a cheaper product with no refund on the different price. Then the back splash was poorly done. Finally they refused to do any Moore work and the owner of the company can to the house and demanded $5000 to finish and slammed the his hand on the countertop. At that point my husband showed him the door. The project now was now 7 months. We had paid half down at the start. We then received a bill for the original amount plus about $10000 more. We consulted an attorney. The project was finally finished but backsplash is nothing to be proud of

Century Granite regrets to hear that [member name removed] was not satisfied with our service. [member name removed] visually inspected and hand selected her stone slabs "Orion" for her granite countertops from a third party vendor. We purchased and fabricated the slabs to her specifications. When we came to install the countertops, [member name removed] was not satisfied with the color grain of the material. Century Granite went to bat for her with the vendor and was able to secure new slabs without any additional cost to her. Century Granite re-fabricated the new slabs and performed the installation also at no additional charge. [member name removed] was satisfied with the installation and had no further complaints about her countertops. [member name removed] hand selected a special order backsplash material provided by an independent third party vendor of her choice. Century Granite purchased the backsplash material by her specifications and provided the installation. After all the material was installed, [member name removed] stated that we performed poor workmanship. When asked about the problem, [member name removed] reported only that some of the 3x6 tiles were slightly darker or lighter than others. The material that [member name removed] selected is a natural stone product with inherent color variation. Upon job completion, the [member name removed] were unhappy with their job and wanted to speak to our management. Century Granite promptly sent the President and Owner to directly speak with them to understand their concerns. Our president inspected the job and asked to hear their concerns. [member name removed] were both present. [member name removed] stated that since they were unhappy with their job they were not required to make payment for services rendered and that he already had secured an attorney. [member name removed] did not make any statements about any problems with the job. Upon inspection, the job appeared complete and in good order. Our president stated that he would be happy to work with their attorney to close out the job. Century Granite called [member name removed]s attorney as specified. The attorney stated that the only problem with the job was one tile needed replacement and that prompt payment would then be made. Century performed the tile repair immediately and collected final payment. Century Granite goes way beyond the typical requirements for their customers to assist them with their projects. As seen in this case, Century Granite will work diligently with any vendor of the customer's choosing to secure the materials that they desire. Century Granite's staff will work hard to rectify reasonable customer concerns in a personalized manner. Again, Century Granite regrets to hear that [member name removed] is not happy with her new custom kitchen since we strive for each customer to be satisfied with their project.

Didn't inform me in advance regarding securing dishwasher in the space and the amount of debris that would be in cabinets. Seam not smooth. Cleanup not great...left glue on tile floor and debris in cabinets. Nicked a chunk out of the wall on the corner.

A and quot;designerand quot; helped us purchase a marble top for our console through this granite place. It took a really long time to get it installed mainly b/c the designer didn't follow up and kept misreading texts that we wanted more black/gray veining in it (not brown). The top was ok, though the lip was made longer than the and quot;Designerand quot; said it would be. Was happy initially with the top despite her error on ordering, and the long delay of 3 weeks, typical for her, but the installers put the thing on CROOKED! There is a lip on the back side of my 3K console and it is offset. The manager says there is nothing they can do to fix, nor offered a discount b/c i'm stuck with a crooked top. He said it would crack or damage the table if removed. Well, I guess they should make sure their top is on properly and not try and blame the table for their install errors. Called and left messages and it was hard to get a call back about this issue. Finally we did, and basically, we are stuck with it. Won't be using them or recommending them in the future.

The service crews came on time on the days they said they would. The process went smoothly except for the back splash where there was a design issue which was eventually resolved to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: Tore out old counter tops and installed new granite counters and a subway tile back splash. Also they put in a new marble window sill over the sink.

Stopped by their business and spoke with Trevor. He is very no nonsense and direct. He gave us a quote based on my measurements and drawings. We picked out some granite at IMC that he suggested. Trevor then came to the house to double check my measurements and firmed up the same quote that he gave earlier. A gentleman came out to the house the next day to make the templates. The granite was installed the following week. Everyone was professional and the outcome is excellent. I am very happy with the value that Century Granite and Marble gives. Highly recommended.

The staff was very helpful in assiting us on all the grades of granite and what might look good for the purpose we wanted. We were able to pick out a piece of granite on their yard instead of having to go to another granite yard to pick out what we wanted. The installers arrived on the agreed upon time of delivery and installed the counter tops in short order. They did all the measuring, cutting, polishing and installing in a very professional manner.

Trevor was a pleasure to work with on this project. He was very patient as we decided the type of granite after several trips to the slab yard. He always returned my calls/emails in a timely manner. The installers did a wonderful job. The slabs were cut and installed as to minimize any seams. The bar counter top was reinforced with some steel bars to ensure stability. You could tell that these guys knew what they were doing. I will certainly call Century Granite for any future projects.

We paid them half. They scratched up our cabinets during the installation. We talked to them about it, but they weren't too responsive or friendly. They got a bit ugly about it when we contacted them. The man finally agreed to take a look. He told them that I was lucky things weren't worse. He said that I was being difficult. He did, however, agree to send a painter out to do touch-up work on the cabinets.

They let us pick through their scratch collection to see if there were any in our price range and color that we wanted. We checked other places and they were similar in price. This store had an assortment to pick from which made it much easier. This store also had counters that they also have leftover pieces from their past customers and work they had gotten done. We found what we wanted for our kitchen and had it installed by very professional workers. We are quite pleased with the service and will use them again in the future.

Though I tried several times in different ways to contact this company, they never got back to me.
Description of Work: I stopped by their place on 114 and filled out a form for an estimate. Then I called to check back and also inquired by internet. No one ever contacted me. :( Granted, my job is small. Just one bathroom countertop. We're going to spend about $2,000 ...not including the sink, faucets, and faucet disconnect/reconnect.

Excellent service! Trevor and Brian were willing to consult on materials, fabrication, etc. Pointed me to some of the better suppliers on marble (slab yards) in the metroplex to research more exotic stones. Did an initial estimate and followed up with a final(and stuck to the numbers). Also recommended a very good plumber to handle the non-countertop portion of the install. They also did very nice backsplash work. The fabricators at the shop did a fabulous job of cutting the stone slabs (it took 2) to match the flow of the stone across the seams in the countertops and the solid stone backsplash. The pieces matched very well in terms of fit, and the flow of the stone from the countertops to low backsplash to the upper countertops (I have two level counters) was excellent. I chose a stone with lots of movement; that makes their job tougher, but it didn't show. The installation was done in one day, with plumbing done the next day. I highly recommend this business.

The work that they did on my kitchen was excellent and I really appreciated the speed in which they performed the job. They had the old countertops out and the new ones in, in just 1 day's work. When they were finished, everything was cleaned up well.
Description of Work: I had my old countertops removed and new ones installed by Century. The work took place in my kitchen and the new countertops were granite and about 35 linear feet. They used 3 separate slabs of Granite.

What a great experience. I found this company through Angie's List and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Trevor contacted me over the phone after faxing Century a drawing with dimensions. In a 30 minute conversation, he was able to provide an exact quote, which was very competitive with other quotes I had already received. The staff from Century Granite came to my house on Tuesday to complete the templates, then returned on Friday of the same week to install the granite and it looks great. While on site, the staff was very professional, courteous and kept the mess to a minimum. The quality of the granite is superb and the finished work looks great. If I was considering adding more granite to my home, I would call Century Granite back without hesitation. This was a really good experience.
