Carnival Custom Painting

Emailed for an estimate and received a phone call within the hour setting an appointment for two days later. (Had requested other estimates, but Carnival was the first to reply.) Jeff Murrey (owner) showed up promptly at the appointed time and carefully examined the areas in question, while asking pertinent questions. After retiring to his auto for a few minutes, he returned with a written estimate, detailing what work they would do. We were impressed with him and his apparent knowledge, and, being in a time bind, agreed to have the work done when we discovered he could begin on Monday. (This was on a Friday.) He arrived promptly on Monday morning, as we'd agreed, and his crew arrived 15 minutes later, also as we'd been told. While the crew went to work, Jeff took my wife's paint samples to obtain the necessary paint and texturing mud. To our amazement, the work was completed in one day! -- About 8, 8 1/2 hours! The crew covered everything in sight, helped us move a couple of large antique furniture pieces, and did an excellent cleanup afterwards. The end result is exactly what we wanted, and will not hesitate to use Carnival again for some of our future projects.

Everything that was promised was delivered on time and on price. I would highly recommend Jeff Murreyand his company Carnival Custom Painting.

Carnival Custom Painting were very good. They were professional. They took a little longer than they said they would, but that may have been some lack of communication between the owner and the crew.

Overall, it was a job well done and I'm extremely satisfied.

I emailed Jeff Murrey on about 3/23 and he came out 3/26 and we went over what I wanted done (see above). He asked some questions, listened to my comments, took some measurements and then went out to his vehicle for awhile (as he said he would). In about 10 minutes he came back with an estimate all prepared in detail. I told him I was getting other bids and would be in touch. After I got 2 other bids - one slightly lower but from a contractor I did not much care for and another bid that was $1800 higher than Jeff's - I went with him. We set a time for the work to be done that was convenient to me and my husband, since we would have to move downstairs for 2 days while they did the work. On the appointed morning, 4 workers showed up ahead of time (but stayed in their trucks) and waited for Jeff to arrive, which he did on time. He went over the work order and explained to his head painter what was to be done. Jeff was very respectful to his crew, which says a lot to me about the kind of person he is. After his crew was sure of what to do, Jeff left them to their work. The 4 men promptly covered all the floors with tape and paper, covered the stairs with plastic and sealed off the doors leading to bedrooms and bath upstairs and the openings to the LR and DR downstairs, and got to work stripping the wall paper. At my request, they carefully removed light fixtures, including a chandelier - they were careful to switch the breakers to off for those lights. By lunch they had the wall paper and glue backing all off and started on the ceiling popcorn after lunch. Jeff came by once to check on them and we discussed wall colors. He had a suggestion that I was unsure of so he had his foreman paint a sample for me on the wall. I did not like it and went with a color I had used before and Jeff thought it was a nice color too. The foreman also showed me a sample of the plaster work to be sure it was the texture I wanted. It was right on! By the end of the first day, the walls and ceiling were plastered and allowed to dry overnight. 2 workman returned the next day, with Jeff, to start painting. We decided we needed to paint the 12 cabinet doors to a bank of cabinets upstairs and Jeff added that for $180. Once again he left and we arranged for how I was to pay once I was satisfied with the job. They finished the whole job by about 5:00 the second day. They cleaned up very well - took out all the trash as they went, cleaned the floors and did any touch-ups as needed (almost none). They even sprayed down the grass in the front yard where they had lain some ladders. I still had to do some spot cleaning but I'm pretty meticulous so I was pleased at what they did. The job looks fabulous! Their plastering and painting are of very high quality - no splatters, over runs, etc. This is a very professional and highly skilled group who are very easy to work with and provide an excellent job at a fair price. I will definitely use this company again - I HIGHLY recommend Jeff Murrey.

Jeff Murrey showed up on time for free proposal estimate. He attentively walked the house noting all repairs and painting we wished to have done. His proposal arrived in the time span that he said, even though it was over a weekend. The estimate was less expensive than another estimate, though he noted more details on all work that needed doing. The crew arrived on time for the first day of work. They were polite, attentive to any changes or touchups that we wanted. The work lasted exactly as long as they said it would, and they would not accept payment until we were please with all aspects of the job. I would hire them again immediately if necessary.

Everything ran very smoothly. Jeff showed up on time for the estimate and it took about 15-20 minutes. He printed up an estimate from his truck and had it to me right away. His estimate was literally half of another estimate I had for exactly the same work. The day of painting Jeff showed up a few minutes before the crew and we went over everything again. I actually added rooms to what we were planning and he added the prices to the original estimate (we had discussed over the phone).They painted the walls the 1st day and the trim the 2nd day. We actually had paint for the bathroom and they were fine using that up for us. They provided Sherwin Williams paint for the rest of the job. The crews were very nice and helpful. We left them here alone a couple times and felt completely comfortable doing so. They did a great job of moving everything and getting it back to the way it was when they came. I have nothing negative to say at all. Everything ran incredibly smoothly and we are very pleased with everything. It looks perfect. We will be calling them in the future for any future painting that we have to do.

They did everything they said they would do and on time. Very good experience and I would definitely use them again. Jeff Murrey provided excellent service. They inadvertently got some stain on a panel and when I called Jeff he came out the next day and it was cleaned like new.

Everything went smooth. Arrived on time. Finished job in a timely fashion. Would highly recommend.

My house was built 8 years ago and the dark wood trim and wooden garage doors were fading and needed to be painted. I searched Angie's list for a reputable painter and found Carnival Custom Painting was the highest rated painter in my area. I called them and talked to Jeff who promptly came out and provided me an estimate and discussed color possibilities. They were great about working around my work scheduled were able to paint on a day I worked from home. They were prompt, courteous and very professional. I was very pleased with the work they performed. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to freshen up their home - inside or out.

They did an incredibly good job. I could not say enough nice things about those guys. They were extremely courteous. They were clean. The painters themselves were very professional and they did exactly what they were supposed to do. The owner of the company came out and checked and made sure everything was right. I am very pleased with them. Everything looks great. I will use them in the future.

Carnival Painting painted the exterior trim on my 3500 sq. ft. house in Southlake. I interviewed 4 companies before settling on Carnival. Each of the 4 companies gave me a quote to paint 1 coat of Superpaint on my trim. 2 of the companies were around $1800 and the other 2 were $2800. Not only was Carnival at a great price ($1750), but they also had a good review from my neighbors who used them to paint the entire inside of their 4500 sq. ft home. On my home Carnival applied 1 color to my trim and chimney and another to the smokestack like things on my roof. They did a great job - Clean, Courteous, and Hard Working - What more could you ask for!

Overall the experience with Carnival Painting was very good! Jeff Murrey was very professional, on time and helpful with any questions. I like the fact that he gave a written estimate within 5-10 minutes of discussing the project. The bid was the lowest of three. The project started about ten days after contacting Jeff and notifying him that I was ready to move forward with Carnival. On day one, Jeff arrived on time and I gave him the paint color selections (along with a request for Zero VOC paint). Valentin (sp?), the supervisor, and his crew immediately started protecting the floors, fixtures and surrounding surfaces, etc. I would recommend asking them to extend the boundary a little with the floor protection if you are having popcorn ceilings removed as the dust does travel to some of the other areas nearby. While they do a good job cleaning up, I think it would have been even better had more of my floor been covered at the beginning. The dust easily got into the hardwood floors. After the rooms were prepared Valentin and his crew worked efficiently and carefully. The painters were very flexible and worked around the guys finishing the granite install in the master bath. They did a great job on the popcorn removal and all the painting. Checked everyday before they left for any touch-ups rather than saving all the touch-ups until the end. Very happy with the results and how good the rooms look with the new colors. Will definitely use Carnival Painting again for any future paint projects and will refer them to others.

I've been very pleased with Carnival painting. Jeff Murray (Estimater) came out for an estimate on the same day. The work was completed when they said it would and left the house cleaner than they found it. I will certainly use this company again for future painting needs as I had a great experience.

Exterior was painted, including some framing to replace water damaged wood trim around windows. All was done quickly and professionally everything was cleaned up nicely afterwards. No complaints at all. Also had one bedroom and 2 baths painted indoors, and they offered some assistance on color selection that was quite helpful. My only complaint, that i didnt notice till a few days later, was some splatters on my new countertops and tiled tub-surround. looked like they didnt cover it well, if at all, during painting. But the paint job itself was well done, and i was able to take care of the splatters. I dont have my paperwork with me, so the date and the total is from memory, not looking at records. Either could be off, but after 3 quotes, i felt their price was very reasonable and fair. Yes, i would use them again, but i'd make sure they covered up anything i didnt want to get paint on next time! ;)

I was pleased with them. In fact I will probably use them to have the exterior of my house painted. Everything is on hold because I have to get some doors purchased first. I was very pleased with them and their price. He showed up and presented the estimate. He took me around to show me and explain the estimate.

He gave me a bid on the spot and I didn’t have to wait. He gave me solutions that I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. He had a good manner about. He came back with a very competitive pricing. He completed the work on Wednesday and it turned out really nice. His crew was very professional and cleaned up very thoroughly. They did everything we asked. His level of service was high and he answered our questions patiently. He helped us pick colors, but didn’t push his ideas on us. They came and went as they had outlined.

I called Carnival Painting for a quote and they responded the next day with a detailed quote outlining every aspect of the job they would perform. Four days later they were on the job caulking and replacing rotted wood on the exterior of our home. The next day they finished the job and we asked them to paint the ceiling in our living room. This was completed the next day. I am extremely pleased with the results and the professionalism of every member of their team. They will be the first call on my list the next time we need painters.

Jeff came out and gave me a bid, he is a very nice man that was professional and did not pressure me. He showed me in writing exactly what all would be done. I got several bids for the job, and Jeff was the most detailed and gave me options of paint quality, how many coats, and pricing. I am so happy I chose him for the job. We had the exterior and the master bedroom painted. They came out when promised, got the job done when promised made sure I was 100 percent satisfied with the job before I paid them. They did a great job of cleaning up after the job was done. I did find a couple small spots that needed touching up the next day and they took care of it right away. The bedroom and the house look great. They did leave us some extra paint in case we need to patch anything or touch up in the future. Something 2 of the other companies did not offer. I will use them again and I do recommend them for your painting need

Work never done. After I requested to add additional rooms and a better quality paint, Jeff said he would update the quote and email me. I never heard back and now back to finding a painter that will do the job.

Jeff provided quotes and delivered according to his word. When he was late, he called in advance to let me know. During the quote we walked the house together and Jeff explained the detail of what needed to be done and would be included in the quote. My house required quite a bit of trim board replacement as well as some siding repair/replacements. Jeff did his best to estimate all the costs. There were additional items that were discovered during the painting process and they were included at a minimal cost. The one thing I really appreciated about Jeff is he quoted 3 levels of paint and then told me he would go with the lowest level. We had a short conversation about the difference and it was clear to me there were differences but I was able to make a decision what was best for me. Another company who quoted the job uses the same paint products and essentially quoted the same 3 levels of service. The sales person for that company (NOT Carnival) was pushing me to take the highest level (most expensive) without any discussion of the differences. It looked like rain on the scheduled start date and I expected Jeff to call and postpone. There was no call and Jeff and the paint crew showed up on time. Jeff explained they would start by prepping the house and making the trim repairs before painting and they would work as long as they could. Most of the repair work was completed as well as the house powerwashed before the rain hit. Jeff called early the next morning (it was still raining) and notified me the paint crew would not come due to the rain. The third day (Friday) was a beautiful day and the paint crew was there first thing in the morning. They finished repairs and began painting. Early in the afternoon the paint crew supervisor let me know they would not finish on Friday but asked if they could finish on Saturday. I was very happy not to wait until Monday and I give kudos to Carnival, Luis (supervisor), and the paint crew for their willingness to finish up on Saturday. The paint crew arrived around 10:00 on Saturday and finished around 2:00. Luis was very open to any specific instructions or request I had and was responsive in taking care of those items. Luis and I walked the house as the crew was finishing up and identified all the open items. All open items were closed and everything cleaned up before the crew left. I was amazed at how quickly the crew worked. They could easily have finished the job in two days if they weren't interrupted by rain. I'm very satisfied with everything about my experience with Carnival and will definitely call them for future needs. The only additional advise I would provide is when you have a work crew that requires access to your backyard and your backyard has a pool, it is important to make the crew aware of the need to secure the gate when they are away from house for safety reason. People who don't have pools aren't always aware of the issues.

It went very well. Jeff came round and gave us a quote. He arrived on time and was very helpful with paint colors etc. He prepared a quote for us then and there and answered all our questions straight away. We called back about a week later to confirm we wanted the work done and he was very accommodating about timing. He told us it would take two days and it did. He arrived on the first morning and introduced his supervisor who was equally helpful and friendly, he then went and got the materials while they started work. He was back within an hour, made sure everything was OK before leaving. Jeff did not return but phoned on a couple of occasions to make sure everything was going OK and was available by phone to me. He also phoned about three days after they finished to make sure I was still happy with everything. The guys themselves did a great job. They were very quick but did an excellent job. All surfaces that were not being painted were protected including my husbands truck which was left in the drive whilst we were out. After the first day there were a couple of areas that weren't quite right and they made sure they were redone to my satisfaction. All in all I couldn't have asked for anything more and would happily recommend them to anyone else.
