+ -1 moreThey were understanding of the problem and very professional. The team that turned the water off brought the repair team up to date on the issue and they had everything they needed to repair the system. We were very impressed with them and will use them in the future.
Description of Work: We had a leaking system. They came out on a Friday night and turned off the water for us and then came back on Monday afternoon to repair a drip valve.

+ -1 morePrice was reasonable. They were here exactly on time and the work was done quickly and efficiently. Matthew told us their goal was to take care of the yard and landscaping so we wouldn't know they'd been there. Not quite that perfect, but almost! We've had a couple of big rains since the installation and it seem to be working fine.
Description of Work: They installed a drainage system to remove water from a courtyard in front of our house.

+ -1 moreI contacted this company because they were an Angie’s Certified List. They charged me $325 for a controller box, which took 20 minutes to put in. The exact same controller can be purchased from an online retailer for $71.99. Since I had more stations than the box handles standardly, they charged me $145 for the station expansion module – included in the install time above. I decided against the wifi module, which they would have charged me $300 for. Glad I did, since I found it online for $70, which I can slip right into the slot for it in the box. The rain gauge was almost $200 for them to put in, which took very little time to install; but that was $55.60 online. For less than 1 hour’s work, they would have charged me $965 for the 4 items above that I could have purchased on my own for $256. Their justification when I asked about the price was that I was getting contractor grade supplies – nope, plenty of retailers sell this stuff. Although I have no idea how much the sprinklers got marked up, I may have fared a little better on this. Lesson learned – always bid out the work to multiple contractors. Even if they are Angie’s List certified, there’s no guarantee that I’m getting a good value.
Description of Work: Needed a new controller box, and had them put in a module to handle the extra stations. I also had them put in a rain gauge and replace most (35) of my sprinklers from 4" to 6".

+ -1 moreIt was a $49 deal for the diagnostic. They put a couple of extra things in my flower pots, individual sprinklers and they were $45 each. They did some other things, added pipe installations for adding heads and I think they added a head. The whole thing was $192. I was pleased with it.

+ -1 moreScheduler was nice, giving us 3-5:00 on 10/27. Spenser arrived at 5:15, after calling, with dusk approaching. His guy fixed the non-working head in 2 seconds. Then they started their check-up. Spenser brought a long list of parts needing replacement (no heads to be added). This came with a shocking $1600. bill which, after our requesting a copy 3 times after it was paid, a copy arrived 5 days later.
Description of Work: Annual 8-zone sprinkler check-up. One head was not working.

+ -1 moreI don't think any of valve issues I faced happened by chance. It was planned and careful orchestration of rip-off. My sincere message to Andy's Sprinkler Co. is I will never ever use them again.
Description of Work: I have lived in my home for 17 months now. Sprinkler system has been great for about 15 months. Visit 1: One of my underground sprinkler pipes came lose and water was leaking. I requested service. A person named Corban came and fixed the leak. I requested him to complete fine-tuning all the sprinkler heads. He said he can't do that in the same visit. I felt it was fair. Charge for fixing the leak was $100. This is when my problems began. I liked Corban. I specifically asked for him to service my sprinkler system as I liked him. Looks and actions are deceiving. Visit 2: I requested for a tune up visit. He went around and tuned up 6 stations and replaced few sprinkler heads. Charge for the second visit is $354.13. Exactly 2 weeks after his Visit #2, station #4 stopped working. I suspected some malpractice. Yet I cursed my luck and called Corban again. Visit 3: He used his tools to spot the valve. He couldn't find easily. (Hope that wasn't some drama played on me). After lot of digging he and his partner found the valve. Replaced the entire valve. Charges for all the digging and valve replacement are $502.94. By now Corban understands that I have at least 3 more valves that need some form of digging and finding and 2 more valves that don't need digging. There itself he has $2500 worth of business. 2 Weeks later station #5 stopped working. It is one of those valves that needs some form of digging.

I stated that I would like to get an estimate on a new install and I was cut short by stating that they do not installations now, only in November. That was the end of the conversation- she did ask me when I needed the install nor did she offer to have an estimate generated for work to be scheduled for November. Truth be known, I could have waited and was flexible. To turn away business on assumptions does not sit well with me and to make a place of business work to earn my business does not either. It was a missed opportunity due to the fact that I not only have a place of business which Andy's could have installed a new system and maintained, I have a home too that could have be maintained. Two for one customers are the best kind.

+ -1 moreScheduled for 0830. Got a call from Jesse just before 0800 stating they would like to come a bit early so they showed up about 5 minutes later and got started. Trouble shooting took about 30 minutes. No leak in the system but tree roots were impinging on the sprinkler feed line and sprinkler head. They cut away the roots and replaced the old sprinkler head. Worked great. Three more heads were defective, which they pointed out so those were replaced. Jesse and his assistant were very neatly dressed, courteous and did an outstanding job for a fair price. Will definitely use Andy's again.
Description of Work: Had a suspected leak in the system, so they trouble shot that and did a complete check of the 4 sector sprinkler system. The cost of an evaluation is $95 then added the cost of parts and labor. Total cost of $ 264.10 which I considered reasonable.

This is my second time with Andy's and each time I end up paying for than I thought I would. YET, I am not complaining. Sprinklers are simply an ongoing maintenance issue, Mowers are the biggest culprit. I could not ask for anyone more thorough and knowledgeable than the technician (Seth) that took care of my system. I totally believe he was honest and did not mislead me in any way.

+ -1 moreVery pleased. They only replaced what actually needed to be replaced, and that only after a complete diagnostic. Troubleshooting was quick, thorough, and professional. Minor repairs that made big differences were performed quickly. NO pressure was applied to buy unnecessary "upgrades" or to perform work outside of the agreed scope. Cleanup was quick and thorough.
Description of Work: Provider performed an overall system check on all components, provided a complete assessment, and then - upon approval - replaced non-functional parts and performed other repairs.

+ -1 moreThey did adjust the sprinkler heads acceptably Several heads were marked as needing the heads cleaned - at a cost of $7.50 each! This requires removing the nozzle (with your hand) and cleaning out the filter - I did this in about 1 minute each. One solenoid was sticking (I told them about it - and they wanted $350.00 to find and fix it. Its a $15.00 part! They can find some things needing minor adjustment etc, but then gouge you for other minor work. I don't recommend using this company. Its a bait and switch type of offer.

I bought the check up on Angies list for 95.00 I was so thrilled with everything they did for the other 77.50. I would definately use them again. AS a matter of fact I plan on using them for some landscaping in the future.
