Andy’s Sprinkler Drainage & Lighting

I purchased one of the Angie's List Big Deals to have this company come out and perform a tune-up and inspection of my system. It was $49 to inspect adjust and provide an estimate for any repairs. They did come out in a responsive time frame but it went down hill from there. The "inspection and adjustment" of my 11 zone system lasted 30 minutes. For my paid services I got some flags in my yard and a verbal estimate of $300 to fix the problems. They did not explain that anything else was done or even what needed to be done. I should have stopped there but I had money invested already and they did come with a high rating. I called to find out what they were going to do for the estimate given and they said they would replace the marked heads, valve, and restore the spray patterns of the remaining heads. Having already paid $49, I gave the go ahead. They arrived on the specified date and went to work. When they were finished they showed me a screen of my bill on their tablet computer which was $377. I responded the esimate was $300 and I thought the $49 was part of it. I was told"no" this is the bill. I unfrotunately did not follow the cardinal rule of getting a written estimate, so I was stuck. They did not do a walk around to show me what they fixed although I could see disturbed earth which showed they did some work. The worker did not offer any review of the work and seemed to be in a big hurry; I paid the bill and they were gone. I then did a test mode on my system to inspect the work. I found many heads that they had previously marked still not repaired and even one missing its top (nice little geyser). I called them and set a return appointment to have the problems fixed and asked about the ones that still were not spraying the right patterns. They said they would take care of the problems. Normally having a contractor show up early to do work would be a good thing but I had specified a time for them to appear so I could be there to oversee. They came early and my elderly mother who knew they were to do work but did not know what, allowed them to start. When I arrived they were already gone and when I checked the system they had fixed most of the issues but still had not adjusted spray patterns, which was supposed to be done in the first vist under the inspection. At this point it was obvious they valued speed over quality, so I did not bother to call again. They have never even followed up to inquire if I was satisfied. I did not expect this from the reviews and ratings posted here and question if they have decided to cut corners and live for awhile on the past. I waited to post this review to take the edge off my review and be civil.

I was happy with the repairs that were made. My only complaint is that they left my sprinkler cover off (no biggy though) and they could have quote me to fix my sprinkler heads that were stuck up.

I had a leaking valve that just would not turn off, which caused water to run constantly and caused puddling in the yard. I found Andy's through Angie's List and was very impressed by the reviews I read. The gentleman from Andy's called me promptly after I had requested an initial estimate. The customer service was great from start to finish! They were very professional and made sure to communicate with me every step of the way. I travel a lot so this was extremely important, and they did not let me down. The valve was buried, so they first had to find it, then they had to dig it up. They ended up having to completely replace two valves that were buried together, but they took it s step further and manifolded them individually. This not only allows me to see the valves now but will make it a lot easier in the future to make any repairs that may become necessary. The only reason I gave them a B on price is simply because this type of work is generally expensive and I feel that a company that provides such great service could be a bit more competitive in pricing. I will say though that the work they performed for us was worth every penny! I highly recommend these guys for any sprinkler work you need done. You can definitely count on Andy's Sprinkler!

The main guy was very good about telling me what they were going to do, and about how much it would cost. After their second visit, due to the leak, the main guy gave me his personal cell phone # which I thought was very cool ! It all went fairly well....except they left the sprinkler system running when they left which could have resulted in my getting a citation from the city due to the water restrictions still in place right now in Dallas. Overall, they did a good job but it was expensive, in my opinion.

The two man team showed up BEFORE the scheduled time - which was fine by me. They went to work immediately to find the leak in my sprinkler system. They also located 2 valves that had been hidden for years - took less than a minute to find them both. All of my zones are now working and programmed. I'll definately use this company in the future - in fact I've already given their number to my neighbor.

The two man team showed up right on time and were very professional and friendly. It was a fast job and took them probably 20 minutes to inspect the system and another 20 minutes to make adjustments and install new nozzles. They also set my system for me to maximize time/water use. I was very impressed and will definitely use them again my future sprinkler system needs.

I used a coupon from Angie's list. Two men came out to do the work. They are good and pretty fast. Their pricing was reasonable compared to others from Internet and Angie's List. They came when they were supposed to come and they got out. They did what they were supposed to do. Everything worked fine. They were very punctual. They called me and asked me if they could come ? They were very professional and very likable. I would not hesitate to use this provider again in the future.

Our tech, bob and his co-worker showed up right on time. Diagnosed problems in about 20 minutes and had everything fixed in about 1 hour. Very professional and friendly. Showed me what problems were and gave estimate on how much it would cost. Cleaned up after fixing problems including one pesky sprinkler head. Great job, will use them again

They did fixed exactly what we pointed out as the problems (and they found some additional minor ones). There was no pressure to buy anything more in the way of services. The lead tech, Bob, was great though his team works just West of 35E. There are teams that do work East of 35 East. I expect that the entire company is service teamas good as out

He was prompt and checked out our problem. He told us what was wrong. We assumed that there was a problem with our sprinklers but it was not. He was courteous and efficient. We would definitely call him again. The price was reasonable. He checked out all the reasons as to why we might have that wet patch in our yard. He told us it was the swimming pool and we thought it was the sprinkler system. He doesn’t fix the pool. The price was not much. He did not do any repair but he was accurate in his diagnosis. He was just friendly and prompt. He was nice and very professional. He was really forthcoming with his information and what he told us. If we ever need sprinkler work done we would have him back. He was really great.

The service was well. I am happy with them and will use them again.

It went well. This is the second time using Andy's and the service was great as usual. Daniel quickly fixed and got our system up and running. He did have to repair two heads and pipe. We'll use them again!! We'll probably call when we need some drainage work as well.

I initially emailed Andy's through their website to have someone come out and give me an estimate. I did not get a response. I followed up several days later, and promptly received a response. They sent out a technician that walked me through what needed to be done. They emailed a written estimate to me the next day, and the work was scheduled for the following week. The work crew and technician came out on time to start working. The best part was that as they dug out the lawn for the pipe and drain, the cut out the pieces of the lawn to place back so that the grass remained on top. Upon completion of the work, you could hardly tell where they had been digging. Over the next several days, we had the rain, and the drainage worked perfectly.

There were two people working on my yard and it was a great experience.

They were very prompt and very good. I am just in the process of gathering quotes.

The experience went well overall. He was a great guy to work with and his work was good!

Can't say enough about Matthew and his team. Have to admit we were contemplating how much St. Augustine we were going to have to replace after they got through digging but when they were done we could hardly tell they had even been here. We decided to go ahead with all the changes we had planned to put off for awhile but it will be well worth it. Multiple zones were broken up to provide better coverage and additional zones were added. If Texas summers become more like last year the savings will mount. Some zones are now dedicated to the flower beds, which will allow us to water specific areas as needed. No more dragging out the hoses and standing in the heat when it's not necessary to water larger areas. We highly recommend that you consider paying a little more for the professionalism demonstrated by this company. They met all our expectations. Thank you Matthew, and your team, for an outstanding job.

He fixed the spinkler very quickly. He was honest and said since I had paid for an hours worth of work that he would look at any other problems that I had. Very nice guy and professional.

Very well. We paid a little more b/c we wanted the work done correctly and not half way. We received his info and after consulting him and receiving the bid for the job, we gave it to him and asked for some small items in the bid. They gladly met those requests and did a great job for us. We will use them in the future for ALL of our sprinkler needs...We however, will only ask for Matthew Chapman! So he better be working there for a long time!

it went great. They answered our questions and honored our requests. WE had severl sprinkler heads that kept hitting the fence ( about 5 feet away) and we asked about a solution to that and they recommended a 3 foot sprinckler- that way it waters the grass ( as it should) and not the fence continually. We are not using our sprinkler a lot right now but wanted to get it checked before we really needed it in a few months. Also they were very kind to my dog!!!

Company was responsive and sensitive to my needs. I knew exactly what they were doing at all times. When there was a minor problem after the fact, they responded immediately and fixed the problem.

Andy's has done work on my landscape lighting twice in past handful of years so they were my first choice when it came time to add to my existing system. Bob Billings came out and did the estimate, which was much more reasonable than I was thinking it was going to be. Every time Bob came to my house (in freezing weather, no less) he was very punctual. He was extremely professional and made good suggestions for my lighting plan, and I learned more about the newer LED lights in the process. One of the lights that I wanted was going to take a while to be available and Bob walked me through the different ways we could overcome that issue. Ultimately, I decided to keep the style of my new lights consistent with the previous style and those lights were readily available. So we moved forward with the installation on the original schedule. The day of the installation, I had to run an errand and returned to my house at 9:00 to find that his crew had already begun digging trenches and following our previously-discussed plans. He had a large crew with him but they ran like a well-oiled machine. I had a few people at my house that day working on various things but Bob and his team focused on their work and got the whole job done very quickly. They cleaned up after themselves and put everything back like it was. Then all I had to do was wait for the sun to go down. When it did, I was IMPRESSED! The lights looked wonderful! I am so pleased with the work. It's definitely bright and the additional lighting really accents my property beautifully. They were quick, efficient, reasonably priced for the amount of work done and the end result is beautiful. I have family coming into town to celebrate the New Year and it will be wonderful to have this addition to my landscaping when they're here. Thanks to Bob and the whole team at Andy's!

This is a truly good company and the work they did for me was great. I needed several things repaired, and I asked the service technician to install a new control box. All the work was done in a very professional manner, and it was on time and done very quickly. I am going to make them my go to guys for my sprinkler system and landscape lighting. Now don't get me wrong, things did have a hiccup. One of the workers left the faucet open on my hose and water was running until I discovered the mistake. But I called the company told them what happened and how I came to use their service, and they cheerfully refunded the cost of the tune up. That was the original fifty dollar offer. I had other work done, and I got a good deal. I am so delighted that I used the Angie's List special offer, and now I check all of them out.

It went well. It took two technicians just under two hours to complete the job and all of the sprinklers were working correctly when they were finished.

I wasn’t that impressed that they didn’t come back and do a lot of repairing that they repaired for free and they weren’t pretty quick about that. I didn’t like the way they did a lot of stuff. They were professional but ti was just they didn’t come back. I wouldn’t use them again.
