Services we offer
Our process of refinishing a hardwood floor is drum sanding on a 24 grit to take the floor to a blank slate, and then doing the edges on the same grit to match the same level as the drum sander. Depending on how deep scratches are, we can do multiple passes of the drum sander to shave the floor down and make those scratches disappear. Once that is all said and done and final walkthroughs and sanding is completed, we take a square buff also known as a finishing sander and go over our work up every single grit, until we get it to a smooth 120 or 220 grit depending on the floor. Then we vacuum picking up all the dust and apply stain (optional). Once the stain is dry which only takes about an hour we apply our first coat of polyurethane. This takes about 12 hours to dry. We then buff the floor on the grit we finished off, either 120 or 220, let the room settle, vacuum, and apply the second coat and the floor is done.
In addition to all of this we can remove any carpet to uncover beautiful hardwood underneath and make it shine like brand new. This comes along with removing any staples, nails, and any baseboards that are requested to be removed. We also tape off any doorways to other rooms that are not being sanded to keep dust from entering, usually the kitchen, so appliances can stay dust free. We will leave your house with little to no dust from when we first entered. Any wood filler, or plank repair is also available.
