Steve replied quickly to our initial inquiry, provided a design with recommendations on plants and grass within a day. We hired him to do the job. He coordinated with the sprinkler installer, assuring that the whole process went smoothly. A couple of weeks later, we had a concern about some areas of the grass looking stressed. He came back to inspect and made some watering recommendations. Very impressed.

Steve was very professional in his dealings with me. He made initial contact after the consultation was purchased. As described by others, he spent over two hours at the house and was very good at asking questions about what I had in mind for the design. Ultimately his plan included some of the things I would prefer such as hardscape, plants, etc with his professional expertise producing the final layout and design. For the price, having a plan in hand when he left the house was phenomenal. He provided an estimate for his company to do the work but there was zero pressure in pushing his services. He truly was there to help me determine what I wanted and left me with the most important resource, a plan based on his professional expertise. Thanks Steve for a great experience.

Ok for now, however, he needs to return to complete deal we paid for.

We are unable to schedule an appointment, because the appointment he has was 12 noon Mon thru Fri and it does not fit my schedule. He also doesn't come out on Saturdays.

Steve was prompt responding to our purchase through Angie's List. We scheduled a time for him to come to our home. He did some sketches of plantings for the front of the house, only. We requested a quote for what his company would charge to do the work but we never received it.

Steve was very professional and knowledgeable. It took about 3 weeks to come out and do the appointment because of his busy schedule. Steve was on time and did a very good job. Steve listened to what we wanted, took his time with us, provided his suggestions and then delivered a detailed landscape plan to meet our needs and budget. I would recommend him to friends.

We had a nice conversation and he was very helpful. He gave me a proposal and I'm still sitting on it. The man was very cordial and the conversation was very easy. The description of the work was really on target. What he estimated doing did seem a little bit high to me. What he suggested was worth an "A".

I was very satisfied with him. He was very friendly, very helpful and very honest. He said it would be best for you to do what you need to do first and then he could come back and then suggest a different kind of plants, flowers and bedding and finish landscaping the backyard. We probably won't do it until after the holidays and then hopefully by then we could call him back and he could go ahead and provide his service.

Steve and his guys did a great job. Steve is very knowledgable about landscape design and plants.

Steve was great I loved his ideas, and he left me with a plan in my hands. We plan to hire him to do the actual work; it's just taking longer to be ready for the landscaping than we had hoped. .

We received just what the offer advertised....consultation for renewing our landscaping. He was prompt in arriving and did a detailed drawing of his proposal for our landscaping. He was responsive to our concerns and questions and seemed knowledgeable about plantings and rock- scapes. He was not high-pressure in any way, and left the drawing for us to decide whether we would hire him, do the work ourselves, or hire someone else to do the work. We have not had the work done because the estimate was costlier than we want to pay at this time. But we probably will have the work done at some point in the future.

It turned out that someone had broken my dipstick and Sam was able to figure that out and fish it out for a very reasonable fee. He also diagnosed a bearing going bad in my transmission. He's not only good at what he does, but he is a good person.

I will review each stage of the services rendered by San Antonio Landscaping because our project will not be completed for a few months and I want to get some notes on Angie's List quickly to describe my experiences at each phase. Today, I met with Steve to discuss the backyard design for a home we are building (a blank slate of mud and rocks). He called to confirm the appointment and let me know his status about 45 minutes before our meeting. Upon arrival, we immediately started to survey the lot and entered Q&A about what my wife and I were expecting from the design. Steve was quick to provide suggestions about how to address drainage, washout issues with different mulches, and lots of discussions about product and plant choices. We are still new to Texas and are not familiar with the best plantings, so he spent a lot of time explaining the best grass species, tree choices, easy-to-grow fruit trees, and the benefits of larger mulched tree rings. His lessons were insightful and helped me understand his thought processes, he was almost predictive in sketching what we wanted. He spent about 2 hours with me while sketching his ideas on graph paper. We did not discuss budget until midway through the design. That was overlooked since we just dove into the construction site and went right to work. He was sketching what I suppose would be for a budget of about $5-7K or so, which would have given us a great yard based on his ideas to that point. However, we have budgeted $10K to ensure we get a great back yard that can be improved in phases. With that, I appreciate that he didn't immediately assume a higher budget and jump to high-end materials and plantings. In fact, he suggested saving money by getting less mature trees for half the cost and didn't change his mind after he realized there was more budget than expected. At the end of the session, his design had captured more than we expected. Steve also didn't pressure me to use his services as the installer as this was a design session. After working with him on the design and how he so easily exceeded my expectations, I will definitely hire his crews to do the installations when we close on our home. At the end of the design consultation, Steve took pictures of his doodles/notes and left me the hand-drawn sketch as a reference, a nice touch (which I could easily take to just about any nursery to execute myself or with a crew of my choice; but I don't plan to do that). I also bought the CAD drawings (and will upgrade to a 3D rendering), so he will put our design into his computer and provide the digital parts in about a week via e-mail. We should close on our house in about 6 weeks and will begin landscape work at that time to bring the design to reality. I will post more as the project progresses. For now, step 1 of the project left me impressed and I cannot wait for step 2.
