Description of Work: We requested a bid from Timber Construction, and Gordon was prompt in making an appointment. We were pleased with the walk-through and plan on consulting Timber Construction again now that we have a better idea of what we need.

Description of Work: Opened up our porch, demolished walls. Also did repairs on outer walls and painted exterior walls along with privacy fence. |Did an excellent job with paint scheme and turned my entrance into a warm welcoming feel.

Description of Work: Did not return multiple phone calls for $20000 residential job.

Description of Work: Set up appointment to get estimate. Friendly gentleman shows up, takes measurements, says he'll get back with me, but that he had made plans to go on vacation the following week, so it would be 7 to 10 days for him to provide me with a free estimate. My wife and I never heard a word from him again. I'm sorely disappointed, because I really believed the good reviews I saw on Angie's List, and I was hoping to work with him. Guess it wasn't meant to be! Bummer...

Description of Work: They said that they would call me. They did not. They did not respond to any subsequent e-mails.

Description of Work: Installed drywall on ceilings in 2 bedrooms, and on walls in bathroom, kitchen and hallway. Installed shop-fabricated cabinets in kitchen, bathroom and 1 bedroom. Installed cabinet handles. Textured and painted entire interior of the home. Installed shower base and tiled the shower. Replaced 5 closet or bedroom doors and door to garage. Installed door handle hardware. | |Gordon Duplichin owns Accolate construction. In retrospect, I am happy with my choice of contractor. There were a few mishaps along the way (caused by mistakes his crew or me), but Gordon made everything right every time. His pricing was fair. His people did a good quality job. There were a few problems caused by a "lost in translation" problem, mostly with the painters. The lady who designed all of our cabinetry came out to make sure that all was going together properly. She said that Accolate had the best cabinet man (Cesar)that she had ever seen. She was very pleased with the quality of workmanship and the fact that Cesar always offered ideas to fix problems or to do something a little better. I did the demolition, electrical and plumbing work myself, and not always on time. Gordon was very accommodating and flexible if I wasn't ready for his people to show back up yet. It helped that he had several jobs going on, a few within blocks of my home. | |The Downside: Accolate Construction is Gordon. He has reached a point in his operations where he is many times stretched too thin. I believe he was having a hard time transitioning from being a "construction superintendent" to a "business owner" (which is a problem with all growing businesses). I asked for prices on additional work, and never received a written quote, only a verbal after the third time of asking. I only saw him at my house a few times after the project started, although he claimed that he was there at least once a day. Most of the time I was the one who initiated contact with him. Otherwise, I did not hear from him very often. His crews were competent and self-starters, so his absence did not bother me. He was off troubleshooting other jobs. To his credit, he hired a field superintendent close to the end of my job, so hopefully that will allow him some time for improving the "customer service" end of the business. | |Things I Would do Different: I feel very comfortable with the process of remodeling. However, if you do not have experience with this type of construction, it would be smart to tell Gordon that you want him there at the job, or at least him contacting you, every day. Also, any verbal requests or agreements between the two of you should be followed up with an email to him on the subject. I think that helps in keeping things front and center for him. | |Knowing what I know know, I would use Accolate again. As a matter of fact, I referred him to my sister.

Description of Work: Failed to show up for 2 agreed upon appointments with no calls to say why.

Description of Work: We contacted this provider on Monday to schedule an appt for Wednesday at 4pm. Everything was set and confirmed. My husband took the extra time to get off early to make the appointment since we know that he was coming from New Braunfels. At 4:10pm my husband contacted them to ask if they were on their way. The gentlemen stated the following " oh yeah!!! I meant to call you. It's really a far drive and I don't think I can give you the attention. I think I'm going to pass on this job". Thanks for being honest, but did you just think of this thought at 4:00pm???? Didn't you look up the address on Tuesday. We understand your reasoning and the only reason we contacted this company was because of the great reviews. A phone call this morning would of been awesome and we would of walked away with no hard feelings. But you deserve an "F" for professionalism.

Description of Work: Contacted this company to repair water damage to the outside of one of our homes. They said they would be over the next day and did not show up or call. I called them again after the weekend and once again was promised they would come out, and once again they failed to show up or call. I had expected to contract other work as we own several houses, but apparently they are not interested in our business.

Description of Work: They replaced a kicked in patio door with a new door. They left to purchase the new door and were back to install it within an hour.

Description of Work: Add a 12' x 12' laundry room. Enlarge the guest bathroom and install new tub and toilet. Install vinyl flooring. Rebuild a 10' x 20' Sun Room that had water damage and termite damage. Install kitchen cabinets and countertops and make a kitchen island.

Description of Work: We have a beautiful new bathroom complete with interlocking cedar ceiling, beautiful tile and large walk in shower with a frameless glass door. The quality of work is really good and the work crew were great. Very professional, honest and good to their word.

Description of Work: I bought a house that was built in 1890 and it was in need of a complete remodel from the foundation to the roof which also includes a cozy guesthouse. The ceiling was a dropped 8 foot height and much to my surprise we were able to remove it and expose the original 12 foot high ceilings. It now also includes 8 foot Colonial Picket doors. My kitchen has white Beaded Board cabinets with appliance garages with a walk in pantry. The contractor was able to obtain wonderful level 3 granite that is also included in both bath areas. I have multi-level pop up ceilings.The master closet with built in peg board and an ironing board leaves me wanting for nothing. This home has beautiful outside detail from the Corbels to the little white picket fence.
