Alamo City Arbor Care

Excellent from start to finish. Mike came over shortly after contact, did a survey of work to be done and left a written estimate. I had 4 other estimates, all but one was at a marginal lower price. However, based on mike's attitude and the outstanding write ups on Angie's list, we elected to go with Alamo City Arbor Care. It was the right decision. They came as scheduled, did precisely what we contracted for (Plus a little extra at no additional cost), did an outstanding job of cleaning up all the cut limbs, leaves and other residue. If I need tree service again, they will be the first I call. Another outstanding virtue was they were very receptive to our questions, suggestions and offered technical advice as needed.

Courteous, professional, and thorough. Removed a medium-sized tree that was dangerously close to my house, another tree that was dead, and two incredibly large overgrown bushes. The estimate and work were scheduled quickly. Very happy with the service received.

They were supposed to contact me but I went a couple of months and never heard from them. Angie's List had to contact them approximately four times to contact me. Once he did contact me and we were talking, it was fine. He seemed to be very knowledgeable, which was really what I was looking for, but at the same time, 30 minutes of conversation was not worth $130.00.

The job was performed beautifully. The yard was cleaned up completely afterward. I have used AlamoCity Arbor Care several times in the past few years, and each time has been a professional and pleasant experience. The trees look amazing when they are done. I feel confident having Jon Chalker, a certified arborist, overseeing the health of my trees.

It took four men and a crane to take down the tree. It was a massive tree close to the house and they did a fantastic job taking it down. They were fast, professional, and cleaned everything up before they left.

Alamo City Arbor Care showed up on time and performed an outstanding job on my trees. They did a thorough job cleaning up my yard when they finished. The crew was courteous and hard working.

Very responsive. Came out to give an estimate within 24 hours and was back the next day to complete the work. We were not at home while they were working but everything looked good and was completed as discussed. Jon called me a few days later with the invoice.

Jon came to our property to assess a Live Oak tree that wasn't doing well. Through the process he looked at all of our trees and gave very detailed instructions on how to care for them. He was wonderful to deal with and we highly recommend him!

I'm beyond impressed with Alamo City Arbor Care. I called to get various bids. Alamo City wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive; he really stood behind his price and from talking to him I could tell he really is a professional arborist. That gave me a lot of peace of mind. The crew took down a VERY large tree that was almost butted up against the building and on a hill and in the middle of a very high traffic parking lot. I thought this would be a major undertaking, but they took it out like it was a toothpick. Impressive. And actually they realized they forgot to remove one small tree that we had talked about and came back right away to take care of that. The crew and the owner Jon seem to take a lot of pride in their work. Jon is great to work with, he's professional and motivated and stands behind his word and promises. Wish all contractors I worked with could be like Jon! I wouldn't hesitate to call these guys and let them take care of your trees. As a matter of fact, I have another tree job and the first guy I've called is Jon at Alamo City Arbor Care.

Alamo City Arbor Care did a wonderful job. They showed up on time and did a great job of trimming the tree limbs that were touching or too closely overhanging the roof, as well as removed tree limbs that were hanging too low over the street area. They removed all suckers and really made the numerous trees in my yard look well-manicured. They also did a fantastic job cleaning-up. They brought a large wood chipper (which was a bonus) that aided in a speedy clean-up. They raked debris and blew off the deck and surrounding walkways. I would definitely use this company again. By the way, Jon C. was a very pleasant person to speak with.

Fantastic. The cleanup was exceptional. Never would have known they were there. Every leaf, every chip has cleaned up!

Alamo City Arbor Care was on time and wonderful to work with. They left my trees in fabulous shape and cleaned up wonderfully. Learned a lot how to take better care of my trees with good advice from Jon Chalker who is a certified Arborist. I have a large yard and thought the price was right on.

Overall, disappointing. The quote was provided verbally and it was comparable with other quotes. Responsiveness was very poor because the day following the estimate I sent a message via Angie's List, requesting the quote in writing. As of today, I have never received the quote or even a response recognizing my request. Punctually was great the day of the appointment for the estimate. Professionalism was great while onsite for the estimate but was diminished with the lack of response to my request.

Everything went great. I called on Sept 21st and left a message that I needed an evaluation and estimate for the magnolia tree. John got back to me the next day and came by to look things over. He gave me an estimate and said he could schedule the work within a couple of weeks. He called this morning [Oct 1st] and asked if today would work. It did. Robert, Chris, and Antonio got here just before 9 am and got right to work. Even though it was a big job, they were finished with everything by 2:30. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, the crew cleaned up so well, you never would know they had been here except for the fact magnolia tree was gone and there was a patch of sawdust where the stump & root had been ground! Trust the reviews. These men know what they are doing and you won't be disappointed with their work. Sorry if there are duplicate pictures....

WOW! They responded quickly with an estimate and returned later that afternoon to remove the tree. They called when they were on the way, and had the tree down, chipped and the stump ground out in no time at all. They agreed to grind another stump and trim my Live Oak before leaving for a minimal charge. The really impressive part was the cleanup! Aside from the now missing tree you wouldn't know they had been there. Every last leaf and chip of wood was blown, swept and carted away. I actually think they spent more time on the cleanup than on the tree removal. I would recommend this service enthusiastically to anyone needing professional, fast & courteous work done.

Alamo City Arbor Care is an outstanding company. They are the utmost professionals. They know their work and they do it very well. They are precise and exacting, and follow directions fully. The service people are personable and have an superb work ethic. This is the second time we have used them for tree trimming and we couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work and the reasonable price.

It went great. Jon's been doing work for us for years now. His crew is professional, timely and courteous. As usual, they removed all the debris as well.

We were under a time crunch to make a decision we wanting a certified arborist to examine healthiness of the tree and Mr Chalker of Alamo City Arbor Care made time in his busy schedule to evaluate the tree as well as the other trees. He was extremely knowledgeable and provided valuable information on not only the tree of our concern but the other trees as well. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone, and plan on using Alamo City Arbor Care services in the future.
