First, the pros: Great quality, safe, and efficent. The quality of the work was outstanding. They used a crane to safely and efficiently cut and removed the the tree. They quoted $3700 in one day with a crane for safety and efficiency. The other companies we talked with quoted $4800-4900 in three days with workers who would have to climb the tree. Overall, I am very happy with this company's work. The cons: Professionalism and Punctuality. We called the business in the morning and was told they would be by within an hour. They showed up 5 hours later. Then when we decided to go with them they called a couple of days later and said they would be out in 2 hours. They then called and said they would instead come the next morning. They eventually came the next day and cut the tree down. Would have given them "A's" in Professionalism and Punctuality if they showed up when they said they would come. Overall, If I needed a similar tree cut down I would go with them.

Service was performed quickly. Team was efficient and polite. I enjoyed working with them. When my husband got home he had no idea anyone had been there since the clean up was done so well. We are loving how great our tree looks now.

Did a good job except for forgetting trim back one oleander

I was impressed because someone answered the phone when I called and came out the same day to give me the estimate. This is in contrast to one of the other two I called which came out a week later and the other one who made an appointment that was not kept. Alamo City Arbor Care came out promptly after I hired them $and did an excellent job. One tree they cut around saving a sprouting new tree. They trimmed off a little more off of one of our Oak trees after I pointed out that the tree was not balanced. All trims were sealed. The price came in more than $3000 less than the other quote I got. I plan to hire them again to come out an trim the tree in my front yard.

John showed up the same day I called to provide an estimate. I told him I was on a short timeline (needed work same day or first thing following day) and he didn't bat an eye. Within a few hours of providing an estimate, his entire 6-person crew showed up and had the job completed better than I could've imagined. All were extremely professional and uniformed with proper protective gear. They confirmed with me several times during the process to ensured that the work was satisfactory. After completion, they picked up every last leaf. You would never know they were there had I not witnessed it! Cannot say enough about how pleased I am with my experience.

Our experience with Alamo City Arbor Care was wonderful. Jon, the owner, responded to my weekend distress call and was here to give an estimate within two hours. He was very informative and explained exactly what they would be doing and the rationale behind it. The crew arrived first thing Monday morning and quickly took care of all the work. They knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing and there was no confusion about any of it. They cleaned up everything with care. No muss, no fuss! We could not have asked for a better transaction. Will recommend and use them again in the future!

I had a very large tree leaning toward power lines after losing a major limb and needed emergency tree removal. Mike came out within a couple hours of my call, checked it out, and a professional team was on site the next morning (Sunday) to remove the tree. This was a potentially hazardous situation that definitely required professionals. The men were courteous and very professional--knew exactly what needed to be done, were careful with my landscaping and cleaned up the area afterwards. I highly recommend them.

Jon Chalker was prompt and provided helpful information in regards to the state of our live oak, red oak, and pear trees and various bushes. We received a competitive quote for tree removal and the crew showed up on time, completed the work quickly, and left the site in excellent condition. We are very satisfied with the services provided and would hire again.

A++. Jon, the owner, came out to offer an estimate the same day I called. He fully understood what I wanted and his crew came out the next day to provide the service. They did everything as planned, exceeded my expectations. They also did an immaculate job on clean-up/debris removal. This is the second time I've used them and I will be calling them back. Excellent service. Jon contacted me quickly and worked with my schedule to come a take a look to scope the job. We agreed on a fair price and timing of the project right then and there. His crew showed up right on schedule and performed the work thoroughly. All branches and leaves were cleaned up . In fact the yard was cleaner when they left than before they got there.

John remained in communication with me. He gave me a call to let me know his crew was coming to cut the tree down, when I got home it was gone. The tree was gone and I could barely tell anyone was there at all. Great job!

The job was completed quickly and professionally. I called Alamo City Arbor Care because I was concerned about two trees in my back yard. The two Mesquite trees were on the property before the house was built - more than thirty years. Both trees were in serious decline. A large branch broke off the tree closest to the house and you could see the wood wasn't in good condition. Jon Chalker (Certified Arborist) was the person I spoke to when I called about the trees. He said he could be bye in a hour and a half to look at the trees. We discussed the trees and options - I decided to have the trees removed. Jon said he could have a crew to my house to remove the trees and trim other trees around and close to the house by the end of the week - I called on Monday. Thursday, the removal and trimming crew arrived and completed the work in three hours. The trees were removed and the stumps ground away. Cleanup was quick and complete. The crew even cleaned the next door neighbors driveway. I was very impressed with the crew. They worked well together and knew what they were doing.

Called to inquire about getting a quote. Said they would get back to me, but never did. Must not need or want more business.

I found them through Angie's List, and they were wonderful. Very few companies have that machine, and they had one and they were wonderful. We were very impressed with them. They wanted to be very sure that we were pleased, and we were.

I called a few days ago and within a few working days, they scheduled us in for the job. This is our third year using this company and as always, they do a fantastic job. From start to finish, always top notch. I love how they use a crane to trim back our palms, it's safer and more controlled. The price is just right. Great job guys! Thanks a million!

This is my second experience with Jon and his crew at Alamo City Arbor Care. Both of my experiences have been absolutely wonderful. I called Jon on Friday afternoon to schedule the removal of two stumps and he stopped by later that day to assess the task. His crew showed up on time the next day and made short work of the stumps. The total experience, from initial phone call to completion of the job, took less than 24 hours. I highly recommend Jon and Alamo City Arbor Care.

My tree which was about two and a half stories high was located in my back yard and the plan was to use a crane to remove all the tree debris from the back to the front so it could go thru a chipper. Unfortunately the use of the crane did not work out and all the debris had to be carried out by hand. Many of the pieces of the tree were very heavy and required many trips back and forth. The stump and the roots were also removed. Once the tree was removed they raked the back yard to gather and dispose of loose debris. They really earned their money.

Prompt, courteous, cleaned up very good. Found several branches that could/should be trimmed but overall, very satisfied.

I used them a year ago and decided to try them again to see if they were as good the second time as the first. Fantastic company and great owner. John met with me before the service and I explained to him want I wanted. This was not a short conversation with a hard sell push. He listened and afterwards he explained to me in laymen's terms how he thought it should be approached and what his recommendations were... during our conversation I asked if he knew anyone that pruned shrubs and I was surprised to learn he is a full service provider. We set a price and a date. They called before coming and all I can say is they did a Fantastic Job... Employees were very courteous, professional, informative and cleaned up 110%. He even followed up with a phone call to make sure I was satisfied. Being in the construction business for 43 years, I can appreciate a company where the owner is hands on and easily accessible. That being said, I would definitely recommend John and his company to anyone needing their services.
