Alamo City Arbor Care

Originally called Alamo City Arbor Care to have them check a sick elm tree, but after an hour of careful inspection they determined it was too far gone and was an imminent threat to our historic home. Removal was tricky with limited site access and our very close house. They brought a crane in and removed this 34" trunk diameter tree and its stump in one day. Very professional and we never worried about the safety of our home. Highly recommended.

A crew of 2-3 men took 2 1/2 hours to complete everything. They worked very quickly and thoroughly.

Fantastic! very professional, fast, complete service. Cleaned out my two trees, raked and swept the yard and driveway. Very efficient.

Went great as usual. Alamo Arbor always does an outstanding job. Third time I've used them. Had a hiccup on the original scheduled date. My time got bumped when a tree fell on someone's house. Understand. A heads up would have been appreciated. However, for the next scheduled time, Jon confirmed the night before and the crew showed as scheduled. Went ahead and gave them an A because first time it happened and they made it right.

They removed all the dead wood and branches extending over the house, over fence and hanging low over the street. They treated all wounds on the oaks. They cleaned up the yard and flowerbeds. They did a beautiful job and were very professional.

excellent work by a professional and hard-working crew from Alamo City Arbor. They did exactly what I'd asked, making sure to not cut too much or too little. It's obvious they're quite experienced and know what they're doing. I'm a very satisfied customer.

All seemed fine until I turned on my lawn sprinkler system and found out the stump removal had ground up major sprinkler piping connections. Alamo City Arbor Care contract does say they are not responsible for broken sprinkler lines but I was disappointed that the stump hole was just filled back in and the person removing the stump never said a word about hitting the pipes. There was plastic pipe all around the area and in the stump hole so I know the worker knew full well he had hit the pipes but said nothing. Stump hole had to be dug out and pipes repaired. Quite a surprise. This could be an issue with the employee only, hopefully not a company directive.

I've used Alamo City Arbor Care for many years and highly recommend Jon and his crew! Jon is Certified, knowledgeable, professional, and personally oversees his team of 3-4 guys who consistently make our trees look absolutely beautiful. They've raised the canopy, removed dead wood, trimmed away from house, roof, fence, property lines, and cut down a dead tree and ground the stump afterwards. They clean up everything and bring their own mulching truck. Thank you for such great service!!

Jon Chalker, Certified Arborist, came out and provided a thorough tree evaluation of my hackberry tree. Sadly, the tree had succumbed to poor soil conditions and was no longer salvageable. Both Jon and his men were very professional and knowledgable, They quickly took the tree down and cleaned up all the debris. I high recommend Alamo City Arbor Care for your tree needs and maintenance.

Wow!! Is the best way to describe how hard these men work. Jon was an expert in explaining the type of trees and giving insight on which trees are best to keep. His crew are very hard working and very professional. They were able to spare my fence in spite of the trees growing through it. They cleaned up everything after they finished. Wow! Alamo City Arbor Care is the best. They are very responsive and professional. I found them on Angie's List and the positive feedback others have left for Jon & his team is legit. I called ACAC and within 24 hours had a quote. Better yet, within the week the job was done. My trees look awesome. There is a huge oak tree in my front yard that was very 'shaggy' and they cleaned it up beautifully along with several other oaks on the property. I had to remove a massive Crepe Myrtle from my back yard that was negatively impacting the pool and that was done quickly and efficiently. The cleanup crew was awesome! My yard was left cleaner than before the trees were trimmed...awesome! I found a few small branch pieces in my ornamental grasses here & there in the back yard but that was it (and those were hidden; I only found them as I was trimming my grasses from the freeze). I highly recommend Jon and his team. They are really good at what they do and I would definitely hire them again.

I only have one complaint: that is that I didn't have John's company do work for me BEFORE!!! He beat his estimated start date and he and his team showed up as promised. Every single one of them were very hard working, polite and took pride in their work. There was a lot to do. They did it all and removed every trace of them ever being there including debris not created by them. My yard now looks way beyond what I ever thought a "Tree Trimming" company would do. I truly can not say enough about John and all of his team!!!

We have many trees that had a fair amount of ball moss throughout. Jon quoted a fair price for the amount of work performed (5 days). His crew worked efficiently to prune/de-moss the trees. Any debris created was removed each day. The trees look great/healthier now. We are very happy with the result. I recommend Alamo City Arbor Care to anyone needing tree services.

It went great. Everything artfully shaped up and the work site cleaned up afterward. Have used this companyfor 4 years now and am always satisfied.

I called Friday morning and Mike came out @ 10am to see what the situation was. A crew was at my house by 12pm, they worked into the evening and returned on Saturday to complete the job. Half the tree had fallen over into the backyard covering the fences and taking out another tree as well, the other half was still standing covering my house. They brought all their heavy duty equipment in to help make the job easier and go faster. Everything went well, no damage was done where the big crane, bobcat, mulcher, etc. was brought in. When the job was done the fences were replaced, areas cleaned up. I did call once the job was compete as a few stumps needed to be ground up, Mike came by and took care of it. The owner John Chalker was very helpful with the tree/stump removal and dealing with my insurance adjuster. I would recommend them.

Alamo City Arbor Care has trimmed my 3 trees about 5 times in the last 15 years. They continue to do an excellent job, not only with the trees, but also mulching and cleaning up all the clippings from my yard.

They did a great job trimming my four trees - for the 4th time in 10 years. They also mulched and hauled away the clippings - and cleaned my yard when they finished.

I sent an email through the website for a free estimate. Got a couple of email responses to call their number for scheduling. Since it was the weekend I waited for Monday, then called and was able to schedule the following day. However no one showed up, I figured they were too busy or did not care to do the job but I was off of work for this and would of appreciated a call saying otherwise. A couple of days later I get phone call and the owner asks if anyone came by and I told him no. He "looked" around and said that he made a mistake and when writing my information put "SAT" for san antonio but mistakenly thought it meant a Saturday appointment. I'm an understanding person so I gave him another chance. He stated he would come by that day and would give me a quote. I told him I was at work but that he was free to go look. Again I did not get any quote nor estimate from his company that day. Although, I did get the other company that came by that morning and they were able to leave their estimate underneath the front door mat. So I'm not sure whether he or someone from his company ever came by or not. Another couple of days go by and I get a voice mail asking if I ever got his estimate. However, by this time I had already met with several other companies that could come by and give me their estimates and had chosen one. Not sure what happened here, but if this company can't follow through with giving an estimate, I'm scared to think what kind of job they would perform.

It went well. He explained to me that my trees had been overly pruned in the past, so he could only do a limited trimming. I appreciated the honesty.

Pruned live oaks in my lot from dead branches and sprigs. They look healthy now and I'm expecting new growth in the spring. Well worth the money

On a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the best I will give them a 5. They did a good job. They also cleaned up pretty good.
