Dun-Rite Construction
About us
I founded my company on service and thoroughness.. I can handle a multiple of tasks and projects, decreasing your need for numerous, unfamiliar, individuals to invade your home for repairs, and increasing the process necessary to finish in a timely manner. I have numerous customer's trust. I have no problem with pets, I have 5 big rescue dogs I call the kids. I attempt to do all the work myself, however on the big jobs, I do have employees assist in those projects. I have employees I trust and will not leave unsupervised for your piece of mind.. I do, on occasion, sub-contract if the job is extremely large so as to finish in a timely manner and obtain warranties. I give free estimates. I do charge a trip charge if the mileage is over 35 miles one-way on projects. I usually include all materials necessary to complete the project, and will price each job seperately. However, multiple tasks will warrant discounts as they increase.

"This customer's house was so damaged, I am surprised she was still living there.. She had a water leak in the backyard that could not be fixed by the city or any other plumber,, It had been leaking for 3+ yrs. The roof was leaking so bad she had moved to only the rooms not leaking which was 50% of the house. There were animals living in the attic and made their presence known often due to the holes in the sheetrock in the ceiling. She had an abusive husband, and a boyfriend who was on drugs.. several days we are working and smell the aftermath of drugs being used while we are working.. She had a budget and I did my best to adhere to the budget and still make this house good enough to live in. She requested weird projects like a cat crawl in every room in the ceiling so her cats could go from room to room. she finally ran out of money and I decided was best for the house and still maintain said budget. I never lied to her. I simply had to decide what she needed with the funds that were left. I gave her a brand new kitchen with new appliances, new cabinets, restructured her flooring that was rotten and falling into the ground, I fixed the life long water leak and landscaped so she would have a backyard, I remodeled the master bath and replaced everything brand new, ( She had litter boxes in the tub and it could not be used due to the water leak and the tub and toilet were laying on the ground under the flooring.) So, after 3 months of work I finally got the house where you could live in it safely. New roof was necessary. I installed new flooring throughout the residence, sheet rocked everything and painted throughout. I was totally honest and fulfilled my obligations to her.. She admitted she was maniac depressed and on medications. Everyday was a new adventure with her.. When we met she begged me to help her as the other 4 contractors she had contacted would not help her, and now I know why. She is lucky to have me as her contractor and I made decisions in her best interest for the future safety of her in that residence. It should have been condemned"
Since Ric does all his own work and is very busy (a good sign for a contractor), it can be hard to get on his schedule but he is very conscientious and will get back to you.. Once we got the design down and scheduled the work, everything went very smooth..
We would definitely use him again if the need arose.
"This family did not know what they wanted. I went out there several times and either talked to her or him and never came to a conclusion on the many things they were asking about repairing. I finally realized I was wasting my time. So I gave up."
"These were the nicest people. (deleted member name) did more to help me, than my crew, at times."
"This is not my customer.. I have done no work for her."
I was very satisfied with the work contracted by Mr. Tim Radford, Office 817/615-8880, Cell 214/680=6915 of the firm Dunrite. His bid came in $1,400 less than the second bidder and the work was done well on time as agreed. I also had him replace gutters on the back which were not included in the insurance adjuster's report, but the front gutters were. Cleanup was well done and timely. Would recommend. Job total was $5,823.87.
I do not have the business address of this company.

"This is not my customer. I have not done any work for her."
Ric came out promptly for the estimate of work to be performed. Very professional, his estimate was in line with what we expected- felt so confident about his presentation -we hired him on the spot. The job was a full renovation/gut of our master bath. Demolition was swift and very clean. The tile work in our shower and on the floors was top drawer. He came up with tile ideas in the shower that were very attractive and functional. Ric stayed in contact , since we ordered most of our own fixtures. There were time delays due to those delivery times-no fault of his. When the products came in, Ric was right on it for installation. He basically handled all aspects of the job: carpentry, plumbing, tile , electrical, painting...nice not to have all those extra contractors to deal with, scheduling etc.
There were a few odds and ends that we hadn't gotten done in the past, he pitched right in and did all the 'honey-do' list my husband hadn't gotten to! Whew, glad to have those things done.
We had some finish carpentry at the very end of the job. We had ordered a sliding track bathrom door to be installed, and it took longer than expected to be delivered. All of the bathroom remodel was done, and fantastic. I think by the time this was accomplished, we let the ball drop and didn't have full communication with Ric on the design of the sliding door installation. This was the weakest part of the job...but I take some of the responsibility for not being clear with the design we had in mind. This was the only thing that really doesn't match the quality of the rest of Rics work.
All in all , Ric always stayed in touch, came to work when he said, we are thrilled with our new master bath! I would hire him again, absolutely.
In both instances, Ric was able to explain what he thought would work best, draw it out, and then give a sensible estimate. As we went along in the project, he kept us apprised of the progress and sent us updated invoices reflecting payment and balances. All were correct, and timely.
The decks were screened in - upstairs and downstairs - and illustrated his excellent carpentry skills and attention to detail. He was prompt, courteous, reliable and kept up with trash removal. This might seem trite, but it is far from it. Many contractors do a few things well but disappoint in other matters. Ric seems to do all of the parts of a job to a very high standard.
Given our many, many other encounters with contractors here in DFW over the past 15 years, I would rate him in the top 5% without hesitation.
For the lights he came and did it while I was at work. I trust Ric and have pets (dogs/cats) and know that he will do the job and not disturb them (he met them before). When I came home it was done and I am very happy with it. He came back for the thermostat (my scheduling) and explained to me any questions that I had during the install.
Whenever I have house projects that are beyond my skill or time, I consult with Ric. He is always helpful and trys to work around my schedule and is very professional. I will definitely use him again.
