Yuras Roofing

In the past month we have had extensive remodeling done to the exterior of our home. The final phase was the roof, and we actually took bids before the other work had even started. Mr. Yuras (Joe) gave us an extremely detailed estimate, and took the time to explain exactly how and why things would be done the way they were. Because of certain up-grades we made prior to and during our conversation with Mr. Yuras, the price was a little higher than other bids, but if we had not chosen several things, the price would have been right in line with our other bids. In no way did Mr. Yuras influence these decisions, we just didn't want to worry for quite awhile about a new roof. Because the color of the shingles was still in question, Mr. Yuras sent full size samples to us, to help in our decision. On the start date, the crew showed up, as well as Mr. Yuras. They got right to work and were extremely professional and efficient. If I had any questions, Mr. Yuras was there to answer them. Because of rain, some of the final things to be done were postponed one day, but Mr. Yuras himself and one of his foremen came to complete the job. They even solved an unforeseen problem, and took quite some time to assure that the situation was properly resolved.I was completely satisfied with the work they did and I would definately recommend Yuras Roofing to anyone who needs a roof or roofing repair.

I requested 3 roofing companies of the highest Angie List ratings to come give me an estimate. Joe Yuras, the owner, was the first one to show up. I have had problems with leaking skylights, and he gave me a detailed explanation of what he was going to do to fix everything. His estimate was clearly written in detail. No broad categories but had specifics. The other two companies estimated very close, but had things that gave me pause. First, one of them said the vent pipe coming off the water heater was not code and would require an additional $400 + to repair. Well, I had just replaced the water heater by a very reputable plumbing company that knows the code. The other one warned that my chimney in all likelihood would have to have the hardy plank dismantled for new flashing etc. which would require new board, priming, painting, etc. These so-called contingencies made me nervous. Joe Yuras came back out and assured me that that would not be the case on the chimney. Plus, he was adding additional ice/water shield over the low pitch add-on. When they started pulling shingles off, he noticed that there were 4 old layers of paper on the decking. The previous roofer 20 years ago didn't bother to remove the old stuff--they were in a hurry. Joe removed all of the old stuff before putting on new paper. He was there when the job started, when the skylights were put in, and then came back to inspect. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend you use Yuras. Also, his crew cleaned up amazingly quickly and did the job quickly. He gives a 10 year guarantee!

After making appointments with several companies highly recommended on Anglie's List, I agreed to a contract with Yura's roofing. The gentlemen who came to my home, Robert and Joe, were professional, cordial, approachable, and made this process understandable and worry free for me. Other bids came in anywhere from 4000 to the highest one from Beldon at about 7500. Now take into consideration my house is about 1200 square feet. There is an area of my roof belonging to an addition that is completely flat and needed to be completely redone. Not only did Yuras give me the least expensive bid, but they completed the work in one day. They gave me a detailed account of all the materials, exact costs of materials, and labor. They did not charge me for materials they did not use. Beldon wanted to to an elaborate reconstruction of the entire area and use top dollar expensive materials. Granted, I've seen roofs done by Beldon, and they look pretty darn good, but I just simply could not afford a 7,000 roof. Yuras also gave me a $100 discount for mentioning Angie's list. I would recommend Yura's to everyone. I would be utterly surprised if you did not get exactly what you ask for, for the best price, by the best team available. This is a first class company. When the giant hail storm happened a few months later, our roof didn't even have a scratch, in fact, we could barely even hear the giant balls of ice on our roof. The other thing I liked about Joe and Robert is that they took me and my money seriously. I am a school teacher and don't have a ton of money to spend, but I love my little home and try to get the best possible quality work for the best price (not necessarily the cheapest, but the best price for the kind of work I want done), and these gentlemen understood that, and did not placate me or talk to me like I was some kind of moron. I've owned my home for 11 years and have had to deal with a lot of contractors and if I even get a bad vibe from anyone, I scratch them off the list and don't recommend them to anyone. I also prefer to go with companies where I sign a contract, rather than a "dude" who I can't really hold accountable. I'm a little slow in writing this, but better late than never. I just wanted to make sure I wrote up this great family owned company in the best light ever. They deserve and it's good to know they're out there. Especially for single women out there who own their own home - don't hire a friend of a friend, or some dude you know who does roof work thinking you'll get a better deal. I guarantee you will get the best price possible, along with the best quality work, from this family owned company with incredible integrity. BTW - I asked several "dudes" who did roof work and the minimum price I was quoted started at $4200 for a 1200 sq. ft house (that also included the repairs I needed). Don't trust them! Go with this company!

I have a flat portion of my roof that in the past they had to put a particular type of coating on it that would water proof as well as seal the nail holes against the leakage. This time when they put the new roof on, they put a second layer of that thin coating over the top of the first layer. So now I have a double layer of it, and that was done for me at very little cost. The chimney was done for no charge. They put the original one up and they put 1/2 inch plywood on it several years ago and when the hail damaged the roof I let them know that the original 1/2 inch was starting to buckle a little and they would put 3/4 inch plywood on it. And that is the reason that I needed to have the chimney waterproofed, primed and painted again. He has put on six to seven roofs on over the years for me.

The roofing job went smoothly and was completed in one day. The crew worked beautifully together; everyone knew exactly what they were to do and did it without messing around: because of the noise, our dogs and i watched them from outside most of the afternoon. They repeatedly went around the house to be sure they had picked the trash and nails. Robert did the same thing when he inspected the work the next day. We had a little problem with the ceiling bonding; I guess because of the age of the house (nearly thirty years old), but Art Dymek, their painter, came out several times, on time, always polite and patience and re-did it until it was right. I don't think they had much profit on the inside work, but there was never a rude word or anyone being defensive. Art just wanted to get it right.

Our home was in dire need of a new roof. When I called to request an estimate, Joe & Robert came out the very next day to give me an estimate & left me samples. They were very professional and very personable. They explained the whole process to me and answered all of my questions. I wasn't sure about the color of the new roof so they came back out and brought larger samples for us to compare. (How fantastic!) I had received 3 estimates & while they were not the least expensive (they were only $200 more than the other roofing companies) I decided to go with Yuras. They scheduled a install date but due to the weather (cold & rain) they had to postpone it for a few days & explained why they could not install if the temperature was below a certain degree. As soon as the temperature was good they came out & installed the new roof in 2 days. They cleaned up after themselves & came out & did a final inspection as promised. I would use them again & have recommended them to several friends.

They did a good job and used the appropriate safety equipment. Also finished the job quickly.

Could not have gone more smoothly. Arrived when requested, worked hard all day, completed 90% on first day and followed up and job finished in couple hours next day. All of the crew was polite and professional. As little inconvenience to household and owners as is possible on roof replacement. Thorough clean up and very good on keeping us informed and presenting us with options and recommendations. Never felt pressured or ignored. I will recommend Yuras to anyone who asks and will reuse them again if I need service. We are confident in our new roof but also confident that if there is a problem, Yuras will respond and make it right.

The cost was better than some companies' estimates, comparable to others, but we were impressed by the professionalism and "straight-shooting" interaction with Mr Yuras. His crew performed the job in the time planned. We had questions about a few issues afterwards--he came back out to doublecheck work was correct. We are satisfied with the work, also have no doubt they would come back out if we had questions or concerns later. He was very aware of their good rating and Angies List and interested in maintaining the great reputation.

Prior to getting 3 estimates I checked Angie's List and selected 3 A rated companies. All 3 came and gave comparable estimates, were very professional in their presentations, helpful in their suggestions and confidence inspiring that they all could and would do the required work. I chose Yuras Roofing because of the superior knowledge of their representative, Bryan Yuras. Bryan made recommendations for my particular situation, some dealing with other trades and services, some relating to my pets - just helpful in many ways. I went into this ordeal as a single woman with little or no idea what on earth to expect. Bryan was able to explain a lot to be expected and put my mind at ease about it. I was very impressed with his knowledge of his business and the construction process as a whole - and he was not stingy in sharing his expertise for my benefit! When the job was scheduled, Bryan was there beforehand, during, and after checking the job. The Yuras crew was very considerate, fast, and, as much as can be expected, non-intrusive! The work appears to have been done exceptionally well - my neighbors are all asking for business cards! Reroofing a home is something I've never had to do before - but, if it ever comes up again, I'm calling Bryan and Yuras Roofing!

My patio roof was leaking badly and my insurance company gave me Yuras. Brian came out within a few days and informed me of poor workmanship caused the roof leak. He gave me a quick estimate and did the job quickly.

Overall it was a very satisfying experience. Joe arrived as scheduled for our first meeting. He provided the estimate in a timely manner as agreed. The work was done and completed as scheduled. His crew was completely professional. They were in and out. I would recommend Yuras Roofing without hesitation.

On the preliminary estimate of the roof the Yuras, made 3 times over here. They went over and over the house on what I needed. They dropped off and ordered colors with an immediate and impeccable service. I would recommend them to anyone.

They were pretty good and neat, and everything was very good about the work. I spent several thousand dollars for the roof. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Joe, Bryan, and crew, were here ready for work 30 minutes prior to scheduled time. I was very impressed with all the work done, especially the clean up. The price was reasonable. Ratings should be "A+" !

Workmen arrived on time and immediately set up a permitter around the house with wide drop cloths to control the debris field while roofing. The old roofing was removed, existing skylight was removed and new decking was laid to cover skylight area. Roofing was completed before 6 pm and the workers all made certain that nothing was left behind. Final inspection was made this morning and the contractor went over the yard again to check for any missed nails or debris. I think this roofing crew is this best I have ever had in respect to workmanship and cleaning up the area afterwards. If I had another house that needed roofing, I would certainly call Yuras Roofing.

Bryan was on time and got straight to work. After a couple of tests, he determined the nature of the problem and made the repair on the spot. As it turned out, the problem was sort of self inflicted since I had not performed the necessary routine required maintenance. Since I know little about roof maintenance, Bryan could have sold me just about anything to get the problem fixed, but thanks to his professionalism and honesty, he did not. Great company! I would recomment them to anyone needing a roof repair or replacement.

The construction began on 8/24/2011 at 9:00 AM. as agreed and was completed on 8/25/2011 at about 2 PM. Five employees worked on the project for 1 1/2 days. All old materials were discarded into a dump truck that was located in the driveway next to the roof. The old materials were placed in the truck with little debris falling around the house. The first day the temperature was about 105 degrees and the employees worked most of the day under these conditions. Some additional break time was given to accommodate the heat conditions. All operations went smoothly. The employees did a good job of removing and replacing the gutter after repairs were completed on the fascia and soffit. On 8/26/2011 a final walk through inspection was conducted by one of the owners and some minor caulking issues were noted. The issues were fixed at the beginning of the following week as agreed. I was very pleased with the work and customer service provided. I would recommend Yuras Roofing Company to anyone needing a roof replacement.

My house is approximately 3500 sq. feet and the roof has many ridges and valleys. The house is 12 years old, and the roof needed to be replaced because it was incorrectly installed by the builder. I received several estimates, but chose Yuras because I felt comfortable with a long term local company. Their bid was not the cheapest, but in the end it was unquestionably the best value. They were very responsive, showed up when they said they would, finished the job on time and left my property clean and in good shape. They vastly improved the roof by adding flashings and other things that were not there originally. I could not have been happier with the final product I received.

We had hail damage to our roof in November, 2010. We chose not to do anything at that time. About February, San Antonio had a significant ice storm that damaged our gutters. WHen I had them repaired, I was told my roof had been damaged by hail. Around April, 2011, I started getting estimates as to repairing or replacing the roof. I contacted five roofing companies, including one that the owner lives in my neighborhood. I was quickly able to narrow it down to two; both highly rated in Angie's List. It was a close call, but overall, I was more impressed with what Robert Yuras was telling me about my options; and, of course what he told me about his family-owned company. I checked his references, and read the reviews in Angie's list. Yuras Roofing was actually more expensive; we had to come up with about $3,000.00 out-of-pocket, that our insurance company did not cover. That is because we went with a more expensive, higher quality product, we added our backyard shed, repaired some siding on the fireplace, etc. I would highly recommend Yuras Roofing to anyone needing a roof repaired or replaced. The crew was very good and prompt. They finished the entire job in three days. In addition, they respected our property. They covered our in-ground swimming pool and our vintage thunderbirds in the drive away. They cleaned up the property each day.

After reading all the good reviews Yuras got on Angie's List, I decided to call them for an estimate. This was going to be for my father's house. He's an ex-Vietnam vet that has anxiety issues, and can't deal with any kind of contractor drama. Thankfully the whole ordeal was drama free, and here's how it went: Donna Yuras promptly scheduled their estimator to evaluate my father's roof. Robert Yuras himself came out, and arrived right on time. When we met, I was very comfortable talking with him since he's such a social guy. Nothing about him led me to believe he was a s***** ball, unlike other contractors I've dealt with. He suggested I add some ridge vents, and I requested he install the old fashioned whirlybird turbine vents instead. Without any kind of argument, he agreed. He also suggested I replace all the rotted fascia boards, and I agreed. After he was done evaluating my roof, he gave me an estimate right then and there. Shortly after, I decided to use them after having such a good meeting with Robert. The workers showed up early on the day scheduled. Robert and his foreman Poncho met with my father before starting. It took all day, but they finished up around 6pm. Poncho met with my father to go over everything with him before they left. Everything was cleaned up like nothing ever happened. The next day Robert came by to inspect everything, and take payment. I expected the estimate to change since they had to replace rotted decking, but it stayed the same as quoted. That was it! These guys made it so easy for me! My father now has the nicest roof on the block. We're very happy with Yuras, and I will recommend them to everyone I know. -Zorola

They suggested appropriate material, explained the job in detail, submitted an accurate estimate, started and finished on time, altogether a very professional group. You will not find anyone who will be easier to work with or do a better job than Yuras.
