Will's Plumbing & Testing Service

Our house was built in 1979 and had only minor updates to the master bathroom. We have been remodeling our house for 20 years and saved the master bed/bath for last as it is the least visible. The bathroom was gutted so that we could replace everything. After the initial consultation, this job was completed in three visits in different stages of the remodel. The young ladies answering my calls at Will's were always friendly, professional, caring, and ready to assist with all of my questions. Danny was the licensed plumber and he brought an able apprentice on most occasions. Danny went out of his way to get the parts I needed (for the tub and toilet) to match the fixtures I purchased. Danny sometimes worked until past dark to make sure the job was done right and finished on the day promised. I gave him a B for punctuality only because he was delayed by an unforeseen problem on a previous job which was out of his control, but he did complete my job the same day it was scheduled. Danny is a hard worker and seems to be very knowledgeable, giving me suggestions along the way, and has top of the line tools to get the job done. For all the work he did and the several trips, I feel the price was quite reasonable. My cabinet maker was very pleased with Danny's work as the plumbing for the sinks were placed properly based on the drawings left by my cabinet guy (The Cabinet Wizard, another great contractor). I would use Will's Plumbing and Testing again in a heartbeat and will recommend Wills' to anyone who asks for a referral of a all-inclusive plumber. My previous plumber had informed me he does not do remodels. Too bad, I have a new go-to company for all of our plumbing issues!

Arrived as scheduled, assessed situation and proceeded with work in timely fashion.

Customer service was wonderful. The water heater went out on a Thursday and the first available date with Will's Plumbing was a Saturday. In between the customer service called me several times to let me know they were trying to get me an earlier appointment. Nice to be kept informed. The technician (Marc) inspected the old water heater and discovered an internal leak. He immediately called the manufacturer to determine the warranty period. With the old water heater out of warranty the technician provided two quotes on the cost to install a new water heater. One quote was for Will's Plumbing to provide all material and installation. The second quote was for us providing some material (water heater, etc.), and Will's Plumbing would install. We chose the first quote. The water heater is located in the attic!? The new heater was (by code) wider than the old water heater. Too wide to fit through the existing access to the attic. With our permission the technicians (Marc & Jarvas) removed the trimming and attic ladder to widen the access. They installed the new water heater and bled the air out of the water pipes in less than five hours. Forty minutes later we had scalding hot water!

Our pipes would make a terrible vibrating noise when we would use the kitchen facet or the shower. Our technician was Jamie. He was very professional and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. The first visit he was able to provide us with a quote that included parts, labor and time. Due to city permits we had to schedule the repairs for a future date. When Jamie returned he was able to take care of the problem not only the first time but also quicker than what he quoted. He said 3-4 hours and he was able to take care of it all in 2! Later when writing up the bill he kept on coming up with a higher number than what he quoted the first time. He kept referring to his "price book" after he gave it a second glance he was able to stick to his first quote. WE NEED THAT, MORE SERVICE PROVIDERS STICKING TO THEIR PROMISES!! GREAT JOB TEAM ALL AROUND! Thank you Jamie! and Thank you to Will's Plumbing for having great professional employees like Jamie on staff!

We realized on a Sunday after returning from a church service that we had drain water backing up into both the stall shower that my husband had used that morning and into our other tub/shower, and into both toilets (which luckily did not overflow!). We called Will's because we clearly needed emergency service. Marc arrived about 90 minutes later and checked everything before hauling out his equipment and using the roof vent to run it through. He found a clog, which he broke up. He suspected that it was under the foundation, but advised us to have our pipes checked via camera to be sure. I need to stress that he did not insist that we get Will's Plumbing to do that---just that it would be a good idea to have it done so that we could find out the source of the clog. Marc suspected that it was something a long time in the making because we had only lived in the house for 3 months. Marc also gave us estimates of what the camera check would cost if we DID use Will's Plumbing, and he even gave an estimate for a second problem (which we already knew about, but which wasn't urgent), saying that it would cost less if we included it in another repair by Will's if indeed the source of the clog was something which needed fixing. When we lived in a different city, a very similar thing happened, also on a Sunday afternoon, and although I used Angie's List to find that emergency plumber, too, those people were not as quick to arrive, and they charged considerably more for an emergency call.

Called contact # for after hours dispatch. Agent very polite & professional, scheduled for Sunday morning. Got an advance call. Plumber Marc was on time, polite, and explained everything. Job was completed cleanly & efficiently.

We have a 50-gal electric water heater in our attic that has recently failed. I contacted 4 plumbing outfits to get quotes for replacement. I learned about Will's based on the reviews here and made sure they were included. I want to honor those that give good service. I communicated every aspect of the job to all of them - capacity, location and even texted pictures of the label of the existing unit to the office. 3 out of the 4 companies gave very specific quotes over the phone. For parts + install, 2 quotes were in the $1300 range while 1 was around $1100. Will's gave a ballpark range of $1100 - $1400 allowing for any unknowns. Based on the substantially positive reviews here on AL, I decided to give Will's a chance and scheduled them to come replace the water heater this morning between 10am and noon. It took a while for them to get here because the job the technicians took prior to mine ran over. I had no problem with it, it happens. In fact I was quite appreciative of Andrea, in the office, keeping me posted as to what was going on and updating me on the new ETA. When the technician (Jaime) arrived I walked out to let him know that he is welcome to park in the driveway as it would be easier to haul parts from there. He said to not worry about it as he needed to give me a quote first. Red flags began to rise in my mind at this point as I already had a rough estimate. As far as I was concerned, the range I was quoted was fine regardless of where the final price fell within that range. But, I went along with it. He went up and looked in the attic, came back to the table and whipped out his price guides and began scribbling on a notepad. After which time he looked up and said it would cost me $2239.67. In my protest he stated that he forgot one adjustment and reduced the cost to $2052.09. I understand that it's difficult to quote service jobs like this sight unseen. There are always variables. But to charge an additional 60%, they better be some pretty substantial variables. But, here are the items being charged: Part Description Rate 1) 50-gal electric 1449.77 (The tank itself is already more than the quoted range) 2) Vacuum Break 55.44 (Not required in my area) 3) Assistant 243.35 (This is a joke, right?) 4) Permit 156.25 (I'm not in city limits, permits aren't req'd) 5) Major Accessibility 281.25 (Sure, its the attic. The other 3 quotes included this tho) 6) Drop Cloth 53.61 (I don't know what to say here) Something was seriously way off here. I can't understand the disconnect. Obviously the price difference wasn't because of any surprises with the install when they want more for the tank alone than I was told the whole job would cost. Then came the salt in the wound. He reminded me that there is a $69.95 dispatch charge if no work is done. Since I knew about the fee, I was obligated to pay it, even though they were only invited out based on the premise of the cost range given over the phone. I understand things happen. Even if the price went up a little, to $1450 or the like, I would have paid it gladly. I want good customer service and quality work to be rewarded. But what transpired was very wrong. Pure speculation here: I wonder if he was just in a hurry. The call before me did run long. My emotions feel as though he wanted the quick $70 and then to move on to the next call. But, obviously I can't know for sure. Does that happen in service businesses like this? Either way, I was very disappointed.

Arrived an hour late due to traffic, but the office called to let me know. The two men that arrived were very professional and courteous. They finished under three hours. The parts they provided were minimal ( 2 hose bibs, and hoses and couplings for water softner). They provided me an estimate and even though it seemed high I felt obligated to give them the go ahead. Even with the 10% discount as an Angie's List member it was 846$. I will probably not use them again, but only because they are so expensive.

Customer service was excellent; received multiple status updates on techs arriving. Mark was very personable and explained the repair process. Great tech!

Marc the technician, was professional and took the time to explain everything and answer my questions. Top drawer. Ran a bit late with previous appointment, but no problem. There have labor for 486, even with your 10% discount = $48/hr on bit on the high side.

Master plumber and assistant arrived exactly on time and checked out concerns diligently and provided appropriated repairs/service efficiently. Good price.
